To be honest I am kinda of a nerd but not that much. Some of my friends are nerdier because they are very big anime fans (and one of them likes to watch Hentai)Not saying anime fans are nerds but my friends draw it all time, Buy the games like naruto and talk about it alot. But what makes me a nerd is I am somewhat very dedicated about my interests but not open about. None of my friends know I like ponies and I desire to keep it that waysleep.png. Well how big of a nerd are you guys.unsure.png

YES, Huge History nerd ( especially wars, weapons, technology etc, mostly form 1900 onwards)

I am teaching myself Russian over the summer.

I am also teaching myself about programming and other computer stuffs.

I'm part nerd, part geek. Nerd in that I'm pretty obsessed with things like grades, books/computers, and knowledge. Geek in that I'm eccentric, am obsessed with ponies, and make things out of duct tape.

 

I'm also an engineering major.

I think I can call myself a Nerd.  Of course, that really depends on your definition of a Nerd.  I sit on the computer all day debating video game imbalances and playing said video games.  I'm also trying to get into 'hacking' (subjective term).

These days, being a Nerd is being viewed more as a positive thing.  Being a Geek, I think, is still sitting on the boundary, if not on the negative side in terms of reputation, however.

I'm a nerd, it's true, I care not for looks (Although on personality tests before I've gotten Rarity / RD multiple times), I care not for socializing, I play videogames all day and have no knowledge on media and popular culture but I have a moderately expansive knowledge of everything I do (Videogames, Internet, etc.) and I stay in my room all day.

Meh, I prefer VB. Yet, ironically I hated javascript. I'm probably going to start learning how to use Python though. Anyways back to the subject. I prefer the term geek though I am majoring in IT so I guess i'm also a nerd as well. So i'm a gerd...neek? I don't know.

I have always considered myself being a nerd in lots of things. Be it cars, history, video games, computers or cartoons. I take interest in something and become a nerd at it. I would also say that I am a nerd because a lot of my study I do while not at school. I love reading history books or simply examining the specs of a Lamborghini. I try to gather knowledge from anywhere. I enjoy gathering up knowledge that I'm interested in. :)

You don't like Javascript? I like Python but I was taught Java at my school, so I'm use to that a lot more. Right now I'm trying to learn C++. I hear it's a lot easier.

Actually, I don't have a degree yet (look at my age :P). But yeah, I've had some experience in coding, including in both Java and C++. Personally, I'm more interested in the medical sciences, so I'm currently pursuing bioengineering.

I'm one of the most inbetweeners you'll find. I have a lot of friends and people know me across the school. I like American Football and hockey, but on the other hand I LOVE history, ponies, Dr. Who, and computers. Oh and video games, did I mention video games!!!!!???

I currently got accepted to Neumont University over at Utah. I'm trying to get a major in Software and Video Game development. I'm following my dream of making video games and NOBODY IS GOING TO STOP ME!!! So yeah... I'm a nerd. Not much of a geek though.

I'm a pretty big nerd, especially by your standards. I watch a lot of cartoons and anime, and talk about them on the internet (I only have one friend IRL who are into stuff like that as I am). I play a lot of video games, none of them "casual". I watch more hentai than I do normal porn (hooray 4chan). I can spend hours reading wikipedia articles, just learning for the sake of learning. My favorite subject is science, specifically astro, particle and quantum physics, and some of the weirder and more dangerous parts of chemistry. Recently, I've been into genetics, and a few other areas of biology, mostly viruses and single cell organisms.

 

Also, since we're posting code, first thing I found on my computer is this simple RNG I made a few years ago for a programming class:

I don't know a lot of python. I know HTML, CSS, and am learning other web languages, such as PHP and SQL.

 

I'm a Comp Sci major, though I might change to Info Tech or Physics. Although, I want to eventually become a game designer, and Comp Sci would probably be the best for that.

 

I've never seen why people don't like the word, or act like being a nerd is a bad thing.

I consider myself a bit of a nerd. This year was mainly a warm up for what software engineering is going to bring, next year is when the fun really starts. I can hardly wait to finally learn how to create more advanced programs instead of little terminal scripts :)

Huh my favorite shows are Doctor Who, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, MLP, Angel, The IT Crowd, Game of Thrones Sherlock and Battlestar Galactica. I have a passion for computers and technology in general, I built my own gaming computer, I play video games all the time. I read a lot, mostly fantasy like LOTR, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Rook etc. I spend lots of my time online and am teaching myself to code and I worry about school work far more than my nearly non-existent social life. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Yes i will say I'm a nerd,  i like books and history,  playing

the old pokemon games and write fanfic weekly and make

things for anime and mlp.  I plan to hit the role playing

with the table top this summer due to a very open nerd shop

has  opened up...

Well I love ponies, Dr. Who, books (especially Russian classics), board games, I'm engineer and introvert.

But I love sports (and good at some of them), traveling, parties, spend not a lot of time in the internet, don't play videogames and know almost nothings about computers.

So I don't know can I be called nerd or not.

I love anime, MLP, video games...and Star Wars. Yeah, I'm a HUGE Star Wars nerd. I have a bunch of Star Wars character figures, I quote Star Wars a lot, I watch Clone Wars--and I have a crush on [younger] Obi-Wan :lol:
