Why My Little Pony is about to get a little creepy

I'm showing up in a beige trench coat, dark "Risky Business" Tom Cruise-type sunglasses, black boots, and carrying an oversize pink and white lollipop.

Place your bets on how many minutes I'll last. The clock starts at the ticket booth, and stops when an usher yells, "Oh hell no!" and yanks me out of the theater.

Won't most older men who see this movie be, well, the fathers of the kids?

Yes there will be a lot of parents including fathers and who knows there may quite a few of them that are fans themselves but this piece seems to be attacking "bronies" or rather their warped view of what bronies are than fathers taking their daughters to see My Little Pony spinoff movie. For the parents that aren't fans though part of me is looking forward to seeing the collective "WTF's" when I go see the movie, even if it bombs I will still be entertained.

I will be seeing it in theaters and I have actually talked to beatnik about this. I would feel very awkward but whatever. I hope It becomes a news story.

I am not surprised that the article is from Cracked. They have many funny articles and rants but they are pretty biased on bronies.

I'd just buy the movie in Blu-Ray. There, problem solved

And yes, it would be REALLY creepy if something like that were to happen. 20% creepier than horror movies

If only the word, "lol," was 100 characters xD Honestly I don't know too many things wrong with the concept of waiting in line as a brony for an mlp product. It's a moral code of society that we make that people can't seem be comfortable breaking. As for the mlp porn and Twilight marriage thing, now that's just ridiculous. Although I can side that the internet google search will come up with pony porn, as where they do have safe search. Ya know it's a so-so thing

Okay, I'm gonna be honest...this is why I really wish Equestria Girls wasn't gonna be in theaters. A bunch of creepy guys going to a theater filled with little girls isn't going to look good, and it's only gonna make bronies look like a bunch of creepy weirdos. Just more reason to make people hate bronies and think they are all sick creepy weirdos.

Stuff like this honestly makes me stop and question if I really want to continue in this fandom.

I'm getting quite enough of the generalisations, the assumptions, and the forced taboos. People nowadays throw the "creepy" label around way too much. If an adult comes within 100 yards of a child, regardless of his intentions or the lack thereof, he's creepy.

Nobody pulled this shit when people would go alone to watch The Lion King, or Pokémon films, or any other "kids-only" franchise. Just us it seems, because we're society's designated punching-bag right now.

And I will admit, that it's been the few bad-but-very-visible apples that have ruined the orchard for a lot of the people looking in, but I'm tired of having to dissociate with them in order to defend my hobby for people. I don't feel like justifying myself or putting disclaimers over my head any more, it's tiring, and people aren't listening anyway.

For my part, I won't be going to the film, even though I'd like to. I'll wait for it to come out on telly so I can watch it privately and free from judgement. I'll do it because society told me to do it, lest I be "creepy".

I gotta admit....I do find the Idea of Grown up guys going to the teather where its supposed to be filled with little girls hilarious.

i know what you mean, anyways there is no law forbidding adults to watch such shows but hey- we're having good time and nopony can stop us :D

I am actually thirteen and a girl, so it won't be so weird for me to go see this movie in the theater. I can't wait to see how many bronies will be in the theater will me. ^_^ It'll be so funny to see! But I feel bad for you self-conscious bronies out there! It'll probably feel kinda weird to go up to the counter and ask for a ticket to My Little Pony: Equestria Girls! :)

Granted, it'll feel a little weird to me too. This was not the movie I expected I would want to go see when I was a teenager. ;)

Yeah, wow...

I just read that little article there and I just gotta say wow, what...

I will admit that yes, it will seem rather odd for starters but why make it such a big issue...

I doubt they'll be screaming like a bunch of howler monkeys at the sight of their favorite character and all that...

Honestly the way I see it, Cracked is just being retardedly overdramatic and rather stupid at this point...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have always felt awkward about the idea of being a lone adult attending any children's movie.

Yeah I know how you feel, I don't really feel comfortable round kids, teens are ok but like little kids can stare and stuff and I find that a bit uncomfortable.

But you wouldn't be a loan adult because they'd be adults in the theater as well

The problem is people are always pointing out the negatives about everything. Why can't they just point out something positive? Most of us (I am asuming) are pretty cool people! Just give us a chance, or even give the show a chance! First couple episodes are meh, but after you watch the entire first season without realizing you love the show, yeah, enough said. It's like saying minecraft is for 5 year olds only, or CoD, Halo, and BF3 are 18+ games only. pretty stupid if you ask me.

You seem to have forgotten about us Pegasisters. No, I'm not talking about little girls. I'm 18, and female, and a HUGE fanatic of MLP:FiM, therefor I am a female Brony, or Pegasister. Ihave bought about 8 pony blind bags so far, and I have announced to my grandma that I'm going to see EqG the day it comes to theaters. The. Exact. Day.

So I think it will be fine.

Well, in fact I can agree with some statments in the article of corse they are exaggerated. But I think it right in two things - how that would look in eyes of parents (which I dont really care), and in eyes of little girls (honestly I hope thet they'll like the fact that adults like MLP as well). I bet you well see a lot of articles like that one in the internet and I think at the TV AFTER EqG came out.

Or may be I had hard day and just too pessimistic now.huh.png

The article is extremely demotivating.  If I could have commented on it, I would have.

It's a bit disappointing to know that this degree of ignorance still exists in the world.  Though why am I not surprised?  It's the goal of small-time content producers like "Cracked" to enforce discussion on their website through controversial products.  Simple.

Though I did read one comment that a woman was stating she would be "uncomfortable with her daughter in the theatre with the bronies in there too".
...
...
...

I can understand that when people see the fandom, perhaps the "shadier side" aka clop, that they would begin to worry.
Or did some ignorant redneck tell her everything she knows, and she never had the chance to learn what we really are?

TL;DR

I'm not scared of going because of what people will think of me when they see me.
I'm scared of going because of what people already think of me before they even know me.

But I'm going anyways!

Let's just say that if somebody wants to complain to me that a grown 18 year old man can't sit down and mind his own business with his friends and watch a movie. I will kindly inform an attendant that she is disrupting the theater and ruining the movie for the rest of us. I really don't care about what people will think of me. I generally love cartoon things anyway. Who was the wise-ass that said funny, entertaining, and quirky cartoons were only made for children and that grown adults have to watch dramatic sitcoms, X rated and scary movies anyway?

We'd probably be better adults for not encompassing our lives around alcohol, sex, and guns anyway.

I think a lot of society are looking at these moral changes as a bad thing because they're afraid of change.

So what if a bunch of guys wanna go see a movie with little girls? It's alright if older women go to see a movie with younger boys
I think we need to come to realization that not every older older male has cruel intentions just because he's around the little girl

And just like any society of fans, there are going to be weirdos. And now that everybody is letting these stupid things give them reason to leave the fandom more and more bronies feel less empowered to stand up for themselves when things like this happen.

I know I'll be standing at the theater getting my pony on. Will you? I sure hope so guys. You entered the fandom  with a bang, the least you could do is finish with one! Stick around for the movie, don't knock it til you try it, and who knows, maybe we can make a revolution in the way we see ourselves watching movies!!!

I didn't mean "lone" in the sense that I am the only adult, or person for that matter, in the theater.  I meant "lone" in the sense that no one came to the theater with me, as part of a group.  I would be a single adult, sitting alone, at a children's movie.  It makes me uncomfortable, because I worry that other people are worried that I am some sort of creep.
