Dealing with Haters

So today during school some people were picking on me for watching My little pony, so I'm curious, how do you deal with all of the haters in real life?

Walk away with a straight face and proceed to forget their pitiful existence

Haters are so much fun to play with because simply by the fact that they are bullying you means that they are insecure themselves. I usually bring into question their sexual preference leaning towards the opposite sex. It's an attitude though, you have to feel confident that your right.

Here's what you do:

 

1.If they say your a wimp for watching the show then just don't say anything and ignore them.Just laugh and walk away.They have their own opinions and you have your's.

 

2.If they say you ''clop'' to ponies it's because some bronies do that and I have no idea why they like it I'm just highly disturbed why what some Bronies do.If they do say that to you just simply shake and your head and tell them this ''Some people might do that,but I don't.'' and then you walk away.

I have yet to be confronted by a "hater". I'm not an open individual myself around or towards other people, but with my friends and relatives and they don't seem to care that I have a general taste in cartoons targeted towards kids, especially a market for little girls, so I don't have the experience to tell you what you should do when dealing with a hater, but I do have an insight on what you could do to avoid anymore grief between you and the disputer.

 

A couple of things you should keep in mind:

- Never respond or retaliate to such crude and hateful comments that are spat out against you, no matter the tolerance level of the comment. DO NOT FEED.

- Openly admit to your friends or relatives that you're a "brony", but be smart about it. Don't try and shove your pride down their throat, praising how great of a show it is and it's community. Wether or not if this show does sound like a great watch, it's a bit of an annoyance hearing someone talking about it to you everytime a conversation is brought up. DO NOT ABUSE.

- No need to feel insecure about your interests at all in public. It's your personality and what you do and like, is what makes you, you! Pretending to be someone you are not is suicide. DO NOT FEEL ABUSED.

 

I really do hope that you have the common knowledge that people who harass or generally hate on other people because of they're taste in different things are just a way of them to feel a power over you. They have something behind their face they feel insecure about and make it easier on thereselves by making you feel insecure.

This is so VERY true, even if you're trying to be reasonable about it, people on the internet are hellbent on pissing you off.

Forget them. In my experience, people that target one thing about another person in order to belittle them are usually hiding something they don't want getting out, too.

 

Don't challenge them, because that will only strengthen their resolve. Just don't acknowledge them. You're 18, so handle things like a mature young adult. Smile, shake your head, then shrug it off.

 

If they really have that big of a problem against it, that says more about them than it does you.

Welcome students to another seminar of "How to Deal with Haters". Now, before our lesson begins, let's review what we covered last week in class:

 

When dealing with haters, there are a myriad of options that the brony may employ.

 

Option 1: Ignore the haters, alternatively known as, "Simply don't give a f***". Now, our friendly neighborhood Spiderman has agreed to demonstrate both the successful and unsuccessful application of this technique... for a small fee. Now, Mr. Spiderman, one could make a rather strong argument that you were responsible for Gwen Stacy's death when the Green Goblin dropped her from atop a bridge and you caught her, what do you have to say about that?

 

Very good, Mr. Spiderman! As you can see, he clearly didn't have one ounce of interest in what I had to say, very good indeed. Now, let's see the unsuccessful application of this technique; Mr. Spiderman, word of mouth from Mary Jane is that you're rather underwhelming in the sack.

As you can see class, Mr. Spiderman did not take this comment very well at all, failing to ignore me, the "hater". On to option 2.

Option 2: Laugh, plain and simple. To demonstrate, Ms. Pinkie Pie has been kind enough to volunteer. Now, Pinkie Pie, I think it's stupid that your pet alligator Gummy has no teeth, and may very well be the result of animal abuse.

 

Very good Pinkie! Now, be warned, failing at this technique may have some rather... extreme consequences. For example: Pinkie Pie, your friends don't like you anymore and are deliberately avoiding you.

Option 3: When dealing with a hater and every other option fails, there is only one other course of action to fall back on. Quite simply, LOVE AND TOLERATE THE S*** OUT OF 'EM!!!!!!

Why is noone talking about shotgun ? I usualy deal with haters this way.

 

The one thing important is to do not feed, which mean dont pay attention, assume yourself and your bronyness (is thios a word aniway?) but dont show of too much, laugh if you want but once again not too much.

 

Basicaly there's nothing to expect from a "hater" and no matter what you'll do he wont change his attitude, that's why carrying a big gun having strong nerves is the only true option.

I had the same problem on a wrestling forum that I'm part of for four years. I've made a post about the show back in January, giving them details about it, everypony think I was crazy and thinking I was trolling. The responses didn't go too great, so I had one of the mods to lock the forum for safety reasons. After a week, it was all forgotten because I never mentioned it again.

 

I'm pretty sure nopony on that wrestling site (except a very few), ever watched the show. Hell, Lauren Faust wants to encourage everypony to watch the show with an "open mind," instead of jumping into conclusions.

 

Now, I've finally found a place where everypony shares the same feelings of this show.
