Reasons why Rainbow Dash is the Element of Loyalty

I never understood why so many people want Rainbow Dash to the The Element of Honesty. She can be bluntly honest, yes, but that's the only trait would best fit for The Element of Honesty. Not only Dash's shining moments throughout the series makes her show that she'll won't abandon anybody, but also her personality has been modelled after her own Element.

Think about it, Dash always wanted to become a Wonderbolt when she was a filly. She got into the Reserves, thanks to many years of dedication and hard work. Her tenacity shows how much she'll stick by her friends and ambitions. Dash is also willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of others, as seen in Flight to the Finish and Hurricane Fluttershy.

Most of the time Dash's moments when she's being honest was during Season 1, back when she's adjusting her maturity and getting to know to her new different friends. At this point of MLP:FiM I would not think she would ever bluntly say things like "my dress isn't cool". Not just that, but there were even times when she would fit Honesty the least. In Party of One she lied to Pinkie about Gummy's birthday to save herself and Fluttershy from knowing Pinkie's surprise party. She knows Pinkie's love for surprises, so as a result she didn't want to ruin the fun for her friends. I like to think that's another moment in which she fits Loyalty best.

And last but not least, Dash does not need to stick to her Element at all costs. None of the Element bearers need to. If they somehow pulled off sticking by to their virtues without breaking them, then that's unrealistic writing.

I would say all of the mane 6 share all of the same elements and intermingle them freely. Just because they are the avatar of said element does not mean they are ignorant or oblivious towards the rest of them.

After all save for magic, all the elements are are symbols of being a good friend. Something they all are too each other.

I'm pretty sure the writers have thrown the whole "Elements of Harmony" thing out of the window anyways, it only puts roadblocks on the show. They realized it was a mistake, and just kind of ignored it.

I think it was the right choice.

Don’t you get it? She knew Gilda as a child but only met Pinkie once she moved to Ponyville, so that made her extra loyal.

Cept Gilda was really unpleasant to everyone to being an outright bully. The episode was about cutting toxic people in your life. Gilda was eventually given a second chance, but RD was totally justified when that episode aired

Because Spike didn't come along into the Everfree.

Well actually seriously, i think he might of done better if the Element went for naturals, like is often thought. But what if the Element actually goes best with those who fight to uphold it? Rarity balances generosity and greed, Fluttershy suppresses her unkind feelings, Pinkie struggles with sadness sometimes, Twilight never was a good friend before and even AJ was something of a liar in her youth.

Spike is pretty much loyal without question. For RD, there is a question, and she always answers "yes". Is that what makes her a suitable Bearer?

Who would you say is a more loyal and steadfast friend like a Samwise Gamgee (go to the ends of the world for their friend no matter the personal cost) Applejack or Rainbow Dash?

AJ wouldn't back down if she made a promise. On the other hoof, for that reason she might think it over before making such a promise in the first place - not for her own sake, but because she has resposibilites.
