What is Your Favorite Music Genre?

I didn't know there were subgenres. as I said I listen to it very little. just point me in the direction of some of your favorites.

I chose Jazz and Electronic.

Both genres I enjoy. Though, more specifically in Jazz, I like modern-Jazz and latin-Jazz.

 

More specifically in electronic, I like;

Dubstep,

House music,

Darkstep,

Jazzstep,

Drum 'n' Bass,

and Nu-Disco.

The first one was pretty good but I really just didn't like the second one as much. Any others that you would suggest from a different subgenre?

Well those two bands kinda go hand and hand, but at least you like At the Gates. Well since you're curius, here's some of the more extreme stuff.

AHHH! You can't just expect me to choose, it varies with my mood. Sometimes I like symphonic or orchestral, other times I rather listen to classic rock, and a minute later I will prefer punk rock or metal. Occasionally I'll even put on some bluegrass or folk. 
 
Right now I'm in the mood for flamenco and surf rock.... What is going on in my head?

I watched a video on youtube showing 10 different genres of metal and if what he put was accurate, I really like the sound of power metal. Thanks for all your help if I ever have any questions I will probably come to you considering you are a big metalhead.

Power metal huh? Yea, that's not my thing. I find it to be really cheesy and boring. If you want recommendations, go on Crispy's metal thread and ask someone there. You're speaking to the wrong person.

Wow, both of those are really catchy. The videos are completely random but somehow fit the music perfectly. This is a band I will almost definitely listen to again! ISIS... has a nice ring to it.

I'm with electronic on this one, since the majority of music i listen to belong in the genre. I like other genres as well but electronic stands out to me. Also, i'm not too sure why the topic name is "What's your favorite genre of music?" when you've several options in the poll. :V

It's definitely fine as it is but the topic name could be changed to fit poll in its current state since it's slightly misleading. Just my opinion, not necessarily needed.

I picked rock.  My two favorite bands are The Decemberists, which is folk rock, and Yes, which is alternative/progressive rock.  I also like background music for games and tv.

DEATH METAL. Damn that music is intense. It doesn't get any crazier, darker, more challenging to appreciate or challenging to play, for that matter. Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel, Death, Grave, Vader, Entombed and many more.

 

I like most kinds of music really, but nothing gets me going like some good death. I have about 50 death metal albums now.

It might not be a legitimate genre, but is the best way to describe that style of music into a genre that everyone will understand. I'm referring to the earlier rock from the 60s and 70s. Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc., you get the Idea.
