Maybe in S5, but I think S4 it's to close, and I think it would be a little bit odd because it would remove one of her life long dreams (kinda like giving the CMC cutie marks.

 

I imagine it will happen eventually though!

I agree with Happy Plant.  It is really a life-long dream that should be dealt with at a later time.  I think life-long dreams should last nearly the entirety of the shows life.

I, for one, support changing the status quo. That's why I didn't really have a problem with Twilicorn(though, that in particular did seem more like a series finale thing, to me).

 

I would love to see Dashie become a wonderbolt proper, and the stories that could come from her new found position. Just because it's a major goal for her doesn't mean achieving it would be the end of her story. She would still have to properly mesh with the wonderbolts, balance her wonderbolt responsibilities with her friendship with the Mane6, etc.

 

As for the CMC, I would definitely like to see them get their cutie marks in season 4. But, I would like them to get them all in separate episodes, so that they would have to deal with the fact that some of their members are no longer blank-flanks, and the kind of stories that could come from that.

Actually, I may or may not be keen on Rainbow becoming an official Wonderbolt in the series, because it would bring a big change to the show's pacing. Since, yes, I'm wondering that she'd probably not be around as much and the show wouldn't want that, would they? At the same time, it wouldn't make much sense if she was a Wonderbolt and was always around... unless those episodes would be when she's off duty? Idk.

However, I do agree with this as an episode idea. Rainbow Dash having to balance and understand her priorities. I remember that episode, "The Last Roundup", when chasing after Applejack, she made a quick choice to keep chasing Applejack and leave Rarity and Pinkie Pie behind. As the element of loyalty, seeing an episode about her understanding her priorities in terms of loyalty would be great character development for her. It's difficult to be loyal to two things at once when both need your attention. Which would she choose? But I suppose she would pick her friends over the Wonderbolts anyday seeing her choice to quit the academy when her friends where endangered but of course what if she also became close friends to the Wonderbolts? That's another good lesson to learn from, I would think?

Dreams take a long time to be achieved or accomplished. I think Rainbow Dash needs to wait a little longer, then she will be able to achieve her dream. Spitfire will give her a chance to prove herself even, if she saved her a lot of times but she will basically give Rainbow a tryout trial to see if she is accepted into the Wonderbolts. So, let's give it until Season 5.

While I do hope to see more wonderbolts in Season 4, I think Rainbow Dash has a long ways to go before she gets to the wonderbolts. Personally I can live without a Rainbow Dash episode that focuses heavily on the Wonderbolts, one thing I liked about her season 2 episodes was that they did more with her than just "OMG WONDERBOLTS"(even though I heavily enjoyed Wonderbolt Academy and Sonic Rainboom a lot)

Wouldn't surprise me, especially since her episode in Season 3 suggested she's making some real progress towards becoming one. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. The fact that she is a character who is chasing a dream has always been one of my favorite things about her, and I'm not sure how I'd feel if that aspect was gone. Still, progression is good, and I bet they could do some cool things with her as a Wonderbolt, and I'm feeling happy just thinking of how adorably overjoyed she'd be at achieving her goals. If the quality of the show and her episodes would be the same regardless, I'd pick for it to happen towards the end of the show, but I'll roll with whatever happens so long as the writers put out interesting stories.

I would be ok with it, but at the same time I wouldn't mind if they decided to push it back until near the series end.

 

I don't want it to really be AT the last episode, just near it, I'd still like to see how things are with Rainbow as a Wonderbolt.

 

But again while I think I'd rather it towards the end of the series, I'd be ok if it happened in S4.

Well, why not? She's the only pegasus who ever preformed a sonic rainboom. Additionally, I'd really like to see her as a wonderbolt, and so for all the other characters after they'll fulfill their arc.

RD should definitely become a Wonderbolt for sure, but not just yet, not in season four. I feel like it will be a bit too rushed for me, everyone else needs to fulfill their goals along with Rainbow Dash before becoming an official Wonderbolt. That would be a nice, fitting moment for me.

I'd say that it would be even better if they achieved their goals in the series finale or something special like that, as well as the CMC finally earning their cutie marks, just something to give the audience something to applaud for ;D

It probably takes a long time to fully qualify as a Wonderbolt so I'm guessing Rainbow won't become an official Wonderbolt in season 4, but maybe she will in season 5 or 6.

I think Rainbow Dash should become a Wonderbolt. Like Twilight becoming a princess: it helps makes progress within the show and competes her character arch. Simply make another character arch afterwards so she can continue to grow.

 

Just like Twilight as her arch is complete but not as a, princess. Maybe there's some things she has to get use to as a, princess like the nervousness ponies get when their rulers make public appearances. Or advance flying moves. That could intertwine with Rainbow Dash post Wonderbolt arch.

I disagree. Like I said in my previous post, becoming a Wonderbolt would complete her goal. That doesn't mean that she can't make more. There could be another great flyer in say.... the Griffin Lands and Rainbow Dash may not be as fast as them and yadda yadda yadda....

 

What I'm saying as it would be a little boring seeing Rainbow Dash trying to become a Wonderbolt even though we clearly know she should be one in the first place. It's just like the CMC arch.....Why milk a cow that's dry?

There's a difference between a goal and a lifelong aspiration though. If she were to become a Wonderbolt, she will have achieved what she's always wanted, and there will be nothing comparable to light the competitive fire in her that she's shown so often in the series

Well there's Lightning Dust and she's proven to be equally as fast as Rainbow Dash in Wonderbolt Academy.

 

Of course she CANNOT be as fast that nobody cannot be compared to light to Rainbow Dash's skills. That would make her an overpowered character.

I wouldn't be surprised for her to be a Wonderbolt in the (hopefully) upcoming Ponylympics. There'd be a minor plot point that Soarin' bruised his collarbone during practice and they need her to fill out the team. These kinds of scenarios would allow her to be a Wonderbolt without it being permanent.

I think she'll become a Wonderbolt when the show ends. After all, you can't take a main character (especially a really popular one) almost entirley out of the episodes.

I hope she does. It would be kinda sad though because that would mean she would have to be with them more than her friends and we won't get to see her a lot.

I think it would make sense if in Season 4, Rainbow Dash has a couple episodes where she's still training, and then becomes a Wonderbolt at some point in Season 5. Being a Wonderbolt doesn't mean she won't be able to spend time with her friends, just like how becoming a Princess won't cut in to Twilight's friend time too much. I think there are still plenty of things to do with Rainbow Dash if she becomes a Wonderbolt, like traveling to new places to help rescue ponies, or maybe she has a conflict with another Wonderbolt, etc. Besides, Fluttershy and Pinkie don't seem to have goals they're working towards, and we still get great episodes featuring them.

 

Another thought: In "A Bird in the Hoof", Rainbow Dash asks a royal guard what it's like to be one, and if the pay is good. So if they did want to give Rainbow Dash another goal, they could make her work towards becoming a royal guard.
