Hm, I'd say RU at least, UU at most. It's not a bad Pokémon really, but it's not the greatest either, I concur that it is a good Special Attacker though. Its item-stealing hidden ability could be useful too in some situations.

According to a Spotpass message I got, the reason it was delayed is due to 'distruptions to the Nintendo Network services'. Everyone has to register a NNID to download things on 3DS now, so they're getting a lot of traffic for that, plus the eShop has been rather slow lately, so I think those are their main reasons for delaying it actually. Doesn't make it suck any less though, really hope they just release it soon already.

Pokemon was an obsession of mine as a kid. I would collect plushies, the cards, and of course play the consoles. But the last game I played was Crystal. When I heard about all the features in this new generation, I decided to try to get back into it.

 

I was super into it at first... for a month I ditched my Animal Crossing village to play. But once I defeated all of the gym leaders, I kind of got bored with it. I'm not one of those people who search for shinies or try to literally catch them all, so I guess I was just kind of like ''Welp. Back to Animal Crossing''.

 

I should get back into it though. A lot of my friends like to play and want to battle/trade

I got Pokemon Y for Christmas!

 

I promised myself that for Y I'd only train and raise new generation 6 pokemon because my X team had only the starter being new and the rest were all generation 1/2 at some point (except special event Torchic).

 

So for Y I went with

 

Froakie -> Frogadier -> Greninja (Water/Dark)

Skiddo - > Gogoat (Grass)

Honedge -> Doublade (Ghost/Steel) (haven't found a dusk stone yet for Aegislash)

Pancham -> Pangoro (Fighting/Dark)

Espurr -> Meowstic (Psychic)

Amaura -> Aurorus (Rock/Ice)

 

Only downside is that I don't have any poke super effective on electric and only Aurorus can take out flying types.

Your gogoat can resist Electric type attacks so apparently it can bulldoze your way through electric types. Aurorus can take out flying types, yes that's true, but with icy wind, it's a little easy to slow down some electric types that are fast for aurorus.

So I took a pretty long hiatus from this thread but I'm back now; I finally grabbed myself a 3ds and a copy of pokemon X. I'm not really that far yet and I'm doing a relatively blind playthrough of course, so a lot of the talk in the thread might be beyond me for now anyway.

 

Oh and, at just level 21, I'm already thinking about putting Braixen in the pc. This always seems to happen with me and starters  . Well, at least ivysaur still has a place on my team.

I have to admit, I don't really like any of the starters! On my second run through I decided to wonder trade my starter and start with something else !

I'd start with an eevee in every pokemon game if I could, I swear. An eeveelution always ends up being the spiritual successor to my starter anyway  .  This time it was Flareon. I would have gone with Sylveon but Flareon finally, finally, finally got flare blitz! I had to try it out and it's working pretty great.

 

So I just arrived at the Elite four with a pretty ragtag team (the need for HM moves does that to me (speaking of HMs, I still haven't found cut...)):

 

Flareon (The hardest hitting poke on my team; super fragile physically though)

Venusaur (Special attacker, sets up with sleep powder and growth. Thick Fat is pretty handy defensively)

Talonflame (very quick, pretty strong; mostly used for fly)

Lapras (kinda bulky, and water absorb is nice but mostly used for surf and waterfall)

Marowak (good phys def and phys atk; pretty much my only answer to rocks at the moment)

Klefki (underleveled right now and pretty much filler to be honest)

 

Fighting and rock types give me too much trouble. I feel like I should get a slowbro or maybe a quagsire and a flying type that's not part fire and pick up a spinner. Or maybe I should try building a sun team? Scarf my Flareon and get a nice chlorophyll pokemon with sleep powder.

I honestly gotta say I'm very happy with my Greninja, first water starter I've ever been remotely interested in using. Her water shuriken attack works wonders. Plus I think she looks awesome. Of course I'm running with a Charizard as well, for old times sake since that was my starter in Red, which was the last pokemon game I played before White and now Y. They make up my combo team as well with their water/fire rainbow attack. lol

 

I've not been playing for very long either, also playing blind too since that's my preferred method with new games. Only seeking help if stuck, and of course trying to acquire the X exclusives.

Well I got a shiny Braixen with magician ability and Shiny Ditto off from my Brother's Japanese Y version (just got lucky though) if that's what you're asking. It takes luck to get these 2 pokemon.

 

One of the people I know has gotten a shiny charm, but I may be guessing it could be the same requirements as Black & White 2 and yeah it's a Key Item (KI) if you guys asked me.

 

Also for those of you guys that are still looking forward to the pokemon bank, one of my friends said that he found out from a Trusted Source that Pokemon Bank is going to be released by the end of January. Very likely to be the week after next. We're not entirely sure yet, but if any more information, I'll let you guys know. My Friend also said it's called to be a rumor for the time being so we're not sure if this rumor is true or not or either way being trolled or faked out by the trollers

Woah, that's awesome.  A shiny Ditto would definitely improve chances of getting a shiny through breeding, and if it's Japanese, even more so.  I was in the Safari for like 2 hours one time with no luck.

I hope the bank comes out pretty soon. I desperately need to transfer over some of my pokes, mostly the dream world pokes like my sheer force Nidoking. 

 

So I trained up a Mawile, and got the mawilite (finally), EV trained her, and learned all the right moves. All that's left is the long trek to level 100. Is the elite four my best option for exp level 60-100? I feel like there should be a better option...

Getting to Level 100? Well If you do Battle Chateau and use black Writ of Challenge and gold Invitation, then you'll get a lot of exp out of there, but it'll take a lot of time for new trainers to come and also Fight your Rival as well in kiloude city and don't forget to hold the lucky egg too if your pokemon is fully EV trained. Battle Chateau has gym leaders, Elite 4, champion, and trainers with audnio so they give high exp. I would just fight every trainer in Battle Chateau If I were you if money matters.

Yep, that's what I was afraid of. Do you know how strong the Battle Chateau trainers get? Mine are level 30 and below at the moment and I don't really need the money right now Never mind I looked it up. Guess I have to work my way up to that top rank and use those black writs of challenge. 

 

I would use the lucky egg but Mawile is pretty terrible without that mega evolution  -_-
