What are your feelings on death/oblivion? (Not the game)

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

No, I don't see why or how an afterlife would exist without a religious power.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

No, I'm an atheist. I believe that our birth and death are determined by our biological health.

3.Are you scared of death/oblivion?

I'm not scared of death, I just don't want to die yet. However, when I have done all the things I currently dream of, I will welcome death with open arms!

1. I find it impossible to determine whether there is or isn't an afterlife, so I cannot say I truly believe or disbelieve in it. I'm a rather doubtful person, though, so I lean a bit more towards assuming that there isn't.

2. No, I am not. I find it better to disregard religion, at least for me, because truly comprehending such things is impossible.

3. Heck no, I'm not afraid to die. My life is awesome, but dying wouldn't be a bad thing, because I won't be alive to be able to regret my life or long for it in any way.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

Nope. ----------> The feeling of death, the sights and senses.

So you don't believe in an afterlife, but you believe you'll be able to see and smell things after your life.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

I believe in the possibility of multiple truths. Whether or not there is an afterlife is impossible to determine unless you are actually dead, so I will not know until I am dead.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

I'm not religious.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion?

There is no reason to fear death, as it will happen to all of us, no matter what we try to do to stop it. Once my time is nigh, I will certainly accept and greet death with open arms.

Please excuse me if you disagree or think I'm weird.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

I have some vague memories from when I was a very young girl of believing there was a heaven. But when my immediate family left the Mormon church, I gradually separated from the idea and obtained more independent beliefs on afterlife. I was an atheist last year, but I'm pretty unsure what's going on with this existence right now.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

Nah, like I said, I was an atheist and currently unsure. Then I used a false kind of logic. Now I like to think of myself as an agnostic. I have seen no further than the sky and distant stars (planets too, I have a telescope) for my own eyes. How the heck could I know if there was something deeper to that? (mostly rhetorical) Life is really complicated and hard to explain. I'll remain agnostic until I see something that proves atheism or theism. But I don't think that our souls vanish when we die. Humans don't know everything and we will continue to try to understand it.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion?

Well, ain't just about everyone afraid of that? When you die, for all we know, we could just become nothing. Sometimes when I think too much about nothing and everything (it's really hard to explain, haha), I freak out. I'm not screaming (it'd be bad if I was XD), I'm just really, really scared. I get it mostly when I'm away from home. It's weird. Anyways, thinking about death is something that really scares me. And when I freak out like that, it makes me think that there is something more. (listen to the song More by Tyrone Wells, I love it!)

Does this not make sense? I don't think it does either. Thus I'm agnostic/non-religious.

1. I don't believe in any sort of afterlife.

2. I don't follow any kind of religion or philosophy of any sort. NOTHING!

3. Yes, I'm afraid of "Oblivion", even if I don't like to call... "what doesn't come after" by a name. I'm afraid of... "that"... like every living thing in the universe. Why do you think we wake up every morning, why do you think we can have emotions, have attachements, feel pain, or anything else. Every step we make, we make it by fear of "It". People suicide themselves by fear of "It".

What's "It" for me? Nothing... even less than that in fact... worse than void... than total black... than eternity... Something that organic can't even hope to comprehend. The end of everything... Whitout even being the end since an end is still something... It's hard to explain but, this scares, a lot. It's making me wake up in the middle of the night, screaming.

It's innevitable, and everything knows it. That's why we protect our babies, build houses, study sciences, pray some ***** ***** ***** god to try to convince us that there is something after but... no... And we know it...

So yes, I fear Death, Oblivion, Void, End of all things, like everyone else. And I hate that...

I'm what once was, what now is and what shall be.

I mean the moments before death. What you experience and such. Like the feeling that your time has come and there is no way to stop it. How close it is. Stuff like that.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

I'm not sure. I believe it's a possibility, but I think I more believe in the possibility of reincarnation.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

I'm Jewish and fairly religious, but the Torah really doesn't mention the afterlife. We don't really believe in a Heaven or a Hell, we just believe in being a good, charitable person while you're alive. Most sects of Judaism believe that there is some sort of life after death, but we don't classify it or pretend that we understand it. The main belief is that when the Messiah comes, the dead will be risen and the world will return to a Garden of Eden-like state. But while the dead are dead...they're dead.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

To an extent, yes. I think, as humans, all of us have some reservations about dying, and I'm grateful for that deeply ingrained sense of self-preservation, as it's what has kept me alive despite everything I've been through, which some of my friends have described as enough to break the world's strongest man. So, yeah, I'd have to say that my fear of death is even stronger than that. But I can see my fear of death fading as I reach old age.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

Clearly yes.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

Catholic, I see death as going back home.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

Maybe, at the same time couldn't care less if my time comes. The only thing I don't like about death is saying good bye.

Yes.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

I wouldn't call myself hardcore religious, but I am Christian to an extent. We wind up in either Heaven or Hell after death.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

Not necessarily, it's just right now I don't feel ready to go yet. I'm not ready to leave everyone I love and the things I love doing behind.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

Not really scared of it at all to be honest. I'm only scared of the suffering beforehand and worried about the grief it will cause other people when I do pass.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

No, I don't believe in anything afterlife. I remember replying to a topic like this before, and I believe all that has been said about the while bright light coming towards you at the end is all true. I also believe that you can see yourself outside of your body (or any other thing that makes the death experience seem extraordinary). All these things have been said by documentaries over and over again, but I have seen that bright light a few times myself (so that's why I believe it exists).

But I don't believe in anything after life. Just the same as before you were born, the same non-existent, non-caring state of nothingness. This is a reason why I think being the survivor is the more difficult state than being the deceased, because you have to live with it all. Difficult stuff!

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

Even if I was Christian, which most of our generation ignored, I would still live my life the same way, doing the same things. That means going to Hell basically, right?

Humans do mistake. Humans get cheated upon. Only if you are lucky, or live a very short uninteresting life, you go to Heaven? That sounds fair.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

Yes, I would do whatever it takes to stay alive, even if death was the easy way out. It's in my genetic code to fight for survival.

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

Yes, but that's mainly because I like the thought of an afterlife and hope one exists. If it does, fantastic - if not, I haven't lost anything through believing.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

Even though I was raised as a Catholic, I don't consider myself part of any religion right now - but I do believe in God and the teachings of the Bible. The Bible mostly compares death to sleep, saying that physically we won't be aware or have control of anything and that all our thoughts, emotions and memories will simply cease to be; but that our soul leaves our body and returns to God.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

I'd like to give some sort of profound answer such as "I'm more scared of the idea of dying than of death itself" or some such waffle, but the truth is that since death is a completely unknown entity to me then of course I'm scared of it. I'll do my best to live for a very long time.

I'm not a religious person, but I don't dismiss the possibility of some kind of afterlife. I'm not afraid of death as an event, but I'm kinda afraid of hell/heaven existence

1.Do you believe in an afterlife?

I do believe in some form of afterlife.  I can't not believe.  I saw my grandpa years after his death, and not one person can ever tell me I hallucinated that.

2.Are you a religious person and if so what does your specified religion state about death?

I am agnostic.

3. Are you scared of death/oblivion

I'm scared of a painful death, but death itself I don't think so.  I mean I am kinda scared of what comes after.  I don't really believe in god, though I don't dismiss the possibility, but when I was a kid I got the idea of hell beat into my head so much it's sometimes hard to let go.  So I'm afraid of dying and going to hell after.  I wouldn't doubt that if I were about to die, that I'd "repent" just cause of the thought of going to hell being in the back of my head.

On the flip side, heaven sounds so damn boring that I'm kinda scared of spending an eternity there after I die too.
