Just curious, does Apple Bloom direct the CMC? I mean, she fixed up the clubhouse all by herself, and the first CMC episode (Call of the Cutie) was centered on her. Also, she's always there for the others. In "Ponyville Confidential", she has the idea to be editors. In "The Cutie Mark Chronicles", she's there with a bucket of water for the fillies to wash off their sappy hooves. Also, the clubhouse is on her property. What do you think?

Nah. I think they're all about equal, with the possible exception of Sweetie Belle (best CMC).

What you said about Apple Bloom is true, but don't forget Scootaloo is the one who comes up with most of the ideas for crusading.

Sweetie Belle does... What does she even do? OH YEAH, SHE'S SUPER CUTE.

I agree with Sky Chaser, but I think if it were to expand, Apple Bloom would kinda be the leader. Scootaloo's already got Rainbow Dash's fanclub to manage, and Sweetie Belle....is there to sing?

Apple Bloom is kind of like the Twilight Sparkle of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Both are not really the leaders of their group, but they appear to be due to how they are presented in the show. For starters, Apple Bloom was the first of the CMC to be introduced in the show; just like Twilight Sparkle was the first one of the Mane 6 to be shown in the show. The show also shows an episode with the viewpoint of these characters first which puts more focus on the character. So, because of this: we meet the rest of the CMC after knowing Apple Bloom's character which makes it appear that she is the main character which our brains assume is the leader.

So basically, I don't think Apple Bloom isn't the leader (I think of them all equally), but she appears that way due to the show introducing her first making us know her first.

I don't really think they have a leader. My headcanon is that they switch off of leaders. Like the pony wow came up with the idea is the leader of that activity. Kinda like in Cutie Mark Chronicles Scootallo is the one wow came up with the zip gliding so she was the leader of that plan and so on.

I agree with what some others have said, in that, I don't think there's a 'leader' per say, but that they're mostly team-oriented. That said, Sweetie is very obviously not a leader, because, unlike Scootaloo and Apple Bloom, who both have traits of tomboy in them and thus have inherent gung-ho, 'let's do it!' leadership attitudes, Sweetie is not a leader type at all. She's a follower.

At the most, I'd say Scootaloo and AB might have a co-leader thing going on, but it's far more likely that there simply isn't one, and that they run off of their own natural comfort zones in leading or not leading.

I think all three of them are equal when it comes to leadership. But, I think that Apple Bloom and Scootaloo share their leadership together to help guide Sweetie Belle down the golden brick road path. So, we could say that on some occasions they are all directors of the group while on other occasions they are split in leadership wise.

I don't think they really have a leader, I think its more of a team effort, they all have occasional times where they come up with ideas, but none of them is the appointed leader of the group.

Its just kinda a throw an idea out there thing, and see how the others agree to it, and when something needs done its whoever wants to do it. Nobody really appoints the others to do anything though.

I don't think that they have an official leader, but I do think that Apple Bloom is presented as the "leader,"  mainly because she's gotten more exposure than the other two.  She has the most episodes focused on her, she was a recurring character even before the CMC was established, even the episode where the CMC was founded was an *apple Bloom* episode.  So while her actual role as "leader" is a bit less certain, we do tend to see things through her eyes more ofthen than the others.

That's a good question, however, the answer is somewhat complicated.

As the cutie mark crusaders, they work as a team, meaning, obviously there must be a leader right?

Well, throughout most episodes with them together, they mostly rely on each other for ideas, big or small.

Technically, apple bloom isn't the leader, it's kind of like in the powerpuff girls with blossom, though she is the smartest and slightly advanced of the three, she isn't fully considered a leader since bubbles and buttercup can handle situations without a leader.

I've thought the same, she came up with the name fixed up the clubhouse, she came up with THE BOWLING BALLS too in Cutie Pox. I personally think that out of the CMC she's gotten the most episodes because sure One Bad Apple is a CMC episode but Babs is Apple Bloom's cousin, so the conflict mainly affects her cause she's family.

I think Apple Bloom IS the leader, since mostly she makes the decisions on how Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle should get their cutie marks. Sometimes Sweetie Belle suggests it, and usually Scootaloo is usually the pony saying, "Yeah! We should do that!"

This is my opinion, but I always thought Apple Bloom was the leader of the CMC. Of course, none of them claim to be the leader since they're a team, but Apple Bloom is usually the one to come up with ideas, and she's always in front of the pack. This may be unrelated, but she also has more screen time than the other two, and has more episodes about her, probably implying she is the leader. To me, Sweetie appears to be the supporter of the group, and Scootaloo is the headstrong, go-to type.

I'd say they're all equal as far as deciding what to try but Applebloom's sort of the unspoken leader whether she chooses it or not, being that it was her original conflict that led to the group's founding.

The first thing that came to my mind is who was Apple Bloom influenced by, if not based on outright?  With her red mane and bow plus some demonstrated take charge traits, AB is modeled to some extent on Blossom who leads the Powerpuff Girls.  Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are loosely patterned after Buttercup and Bubbles although Scoots just likes sports rather than fighting.

For the sake of the poll, I voted yes that Apple Bloom directs the CMC, but not quite to the same extent that Blossom leads the PPGs.

I think we just see her as the director because she was the first one of the CMC that we saw (Other than in their first episode cameo), and she's seen the most outside of the CMC scenes. Scootaloo isn't related to any of the mane six, and Sweetie Bell only had one episode about her.
