Hey everypony, im a bit nervous about starting to buy pony merch and telling my brother that im a brony, im scared he will laugh and stuff, how do i stop bieng nervous about bieng a brony? sorry if im kinda new to this and probably wasting your time, but do you know any confidence boosters so i can tell him?

This exactly. He's your brother, and even though I don't know what he's like, I'm pretty sure he'll be accepting of your bronydom. Some of my friends mess around with me being a brony, but it's all in good fun. In the end I think they don't mind that I am one. So yeah, I say go for it

Ask yourself this: Does it honestly matter if your brother laughs? Does it matter if anyone finds out? Will it impact your life in any big way?

 

The answer to all of this is likely "no" unless you're looking at it in a fearful light. Being a brony doesn't change who you are and only a fool would believe it did and we don't need to listen to fools, they only lead you astray.

 

I can almost guarantee you that if you don't make a big deal out of it then neither will anyone else.

Just be confident when you are asked about it. Whenever people ask me about it I just tell them the truth. It's a great cartoon and amazingly funny. Don't try and push the show on them, just answer there questions honestly and confidently. If people are trying to put you down then just try your best to avoid confrontation, but if you want to defend yourself then don't be afraid to do so. Confidence is a big thing here though.

In my personal experience the less of a big deal you make about these things the less of a big deal others will make of it. Yes there will be some people that might not understand and you may run into haters and trolls but the fact that they care so much says alot more about them than you. I don't know how my brother would react but I do know this, I know that he cares about me and even if he did have a WTF reaction at first he would probably come to terms with it eventually.
