Could Trixie be a descendent of Starswirl the Bearded?

I was just thinking could it be possible that Trixie could be a descendent of Starswirl? I know there's no evidence of this but it could be possible, right? I don't know why I started thinking about this it just kinda popped into my head and I thought it would be interested. What do you guys think? Could it be possible or am I just crazy?
 

 

IMO this would be interesting to see in the show. I would like to see what Twilight thinks about it. I also think it would make for a good lesson that I think is kind of important. "Just because someone is related to an important pony it dosen't mean you should treat them differently then your other friends." I don't know maybe I'm over thinking this.

It could be possible, even though Trixie was evil and really did have enjoyment in being evil but Starswirl the Bearded was a wise unicorn who didn't know the meaning of friendship like Twilight did. But, there are many possibilities.

Trixie's magic is simply show magic while Starswirl's was alot like Twilight's. A combination of different types of magic that altogether made him powerful. Besides if he didn't even understand friendship as said by Celestia, how could he have a relationship and produce offspring? I don't know, those are just my thoughts.

There's no reason Trixie couldn't be a descendent of Starswirl.

 

On the other hand, there isn't any evidence of it beyond the fact that Twilight's Starswirl costume had a pointed hat and a cape with astrological embellishments, similar to the ones Trixie wears. There's no telling how historically accurate Twi's costume was (though knowing her it's probably as close as anyone could guess) and it may just be a traditional or stereotypical magician attire, but it's something.

 

Barring that one connection, there's more reason to believe Twilight is related to Starswirl than Trixie. Trixie is only slightly more likely to be related than any given unicorn (or perhaps EVERY given unicorn, if Starswirl were especially promiscuous), and unicorns in general are only slightly more likely to be related than any OTHER given pony since tribes can mix and seem to produce any variety of offspring.

 

It's not a bad idea as head canon, but I don't think there's enough evidence to convince many others.

I have actually thought of that random idea at one point, and while I question its possibility (seeing as how Starswirl's may not have had kids, on account of being friendless and all), but if that somehow ended up happening, I'd be in full support of it, because that'd be freaking awesome.

But, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are related. I don't think they'd share a bond since Trixie's magic is only for show, while Starswirl is one of the highest level unicorns with real magic. After all, you'd think that Trixie would've at least inherited some basic magic skills from Starswirl.

That's an interesting headcanon actually... would make sense with the way she dresses and her boastful attitude, thinking she's great and powerful because she's the descendent of the (second)most powerful unicorn who ever lived... who knows though.

True, Trixie before the Amulet wasn't evil. However, she was a major b*tch and a hack. The amulet simply pushed her temporarily into the dark side, similar to Anakin Skywalker.

Sorry about this, but even if it was necessary for two ponies to be married to have children, friendship isn't necessary for that. 'Friendship' has nothing to do with procreation, which has been proven quite often in real life.

Well, it could be possible, but at the same time I don't really think theres enough solid evidence to say she is related to Starswirl, so its all headcannon and speculations off rough clues.

 

Who knows if Starswirl even had a daughter or son or anything.

As others said it's interesting simply because they are so different. A charlatan and very poor magician vs. the most powerful Unicorn of his time. Cute but not much to go on. I've always been more intrigued by Clover the Clever and if that's really Celestia or an ancestor of Twilight's. now that is interesting!

In all likely hood? Yes. Considering the time period involved, it is a fair bet that there is a genetic link between the two, if Starswirl the Bearded had children of course (if he didn't...).  Twilight and Rarity probably also have one. So quite possible, but not significant.

Did Star Swirl have any brothers or sisters? I also think that Trixie and Starlight Glimmer are sisters, and great-grand daughters to Star Swirl. How else would they get along so well, and how else would you explain that they both went through an evil faze where they didn't believe in friendship?

You've got 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, etc. Mathematically, a LOT of ponies could be descended from Starswhirl. On the other hand in the book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons In History (Michael Hart), the author makes the point that over 1/2 the people on the list have no known legitimate descendants.
