So what if Season 4 ended....

With Rarity becoming Alicorn Princess? Seeing as how she's the one that didn't get an episode, that'd be the Ultimate "I'm sorry" to her fans, right? Myself I'd be livid, but I just wonder, would the fan reaction had been better or worse?

Edit: I fucked up the title. I meant to put season 3, I feel like most of you got that though.

What I would like to see is an episode where pinkie pie starts getting sad because she doesnt have a unicorn horn or wings. So she gets a wish, and becomes an alicorn, however, she leaves her earth pony-hood. She misses her swlf as an earth pony and wishes to be an earth pony again, however, she must do this challenge first. At the end, she becomes an earth pony again, with the moral being, dont take things for granted

Rarity would be best princess of course. Better than Twilight Sparkle anyway :P

I haven't been too supportive of Princess Twilight Sparkle because it just doesn't seem to fit right with me. I don't even think that Twilight herself was too keen on the idea. But Princess Rarity is a perfect match! Especially because we all know it actually IS Rarity's dream to be royalty and to live in Canterlot.

As a Rarity fan I would also be mad if she became an alicorn. With Twilight it made sense. She earned it. But doing it to Rarity out of pity for the way she was treated in season 3? That doesn't do her character justice. It doesn't do anything to develop her character. She couldn't have earned her princesshood by magic alone, so turning her into an alicorn would be the beginning of making becoming royalty meaningless. It would become a legit reason to hate Twilacorn.

So it probably won't happen... the writers saw the shitstorm with Twilacorn. So why would they want to practically beg us to storm their HQ with torches and pitchforks?

That' exactly when fans would go into full-blown rage. Don't get me wrong I am a Twilicorn supporter however there is one difference, Twilight was destined to become a princess while Rarity isn't. We can then suspect all the other ponies to become princess and that's not good, I'd still watch the show but I can't say the same for everyone else.

If that did happen and Season 5 rolled around, I could safely say that the series might die during Season 5.

But I doubt we'll have anymore of the Mane Six being permanently turned into princesses.

That would be a pretty crazy ending especially in another new season. If Rarity did become an alicorn, without earning it at all then it would just be a huge shitstorm of fans coming with pitchforks and torches. But luckily, the writers won't go that route.. yet.

   This.

No offense, but I honestly don't see the logic behind the idea being proposed. The solution to Rarity not getting any episodes in Season 3, is to give her multiple episodes in Season 4, and a couple more than the other ponies, to balance out the inconsistence. Not grant her an unwanted, unnecessary, and undeserved (no offense to Rarity fans; read ahead to understand what I meant) position.

It was Twilight Sparkle's destiny to become the Princess of Friendship (at least that's what I believe), and she earned that title through two and a half seasons worth of learning numerous lessons of friendship. Meanwhile, Rarity has been spending her time trying to advance her dream as a famous fashion designer, which is believed to be her destiny. And that's the thing: Most All of the Mane 6, when not interacting amongst themselves and other ponies, have been taking several actions to exceed themselves and come closer to their individual dream. To just throw away that, and force her to become an alicorn princess, simply because she didn't get an episode out of a 10-episode-span (13-3 (2 inevitable adventure episodes+1 inevitable season finale)=10 :P), is just ridiculous (again, no offense).

Also, what would Rarity represent as an alicorn princess? Celestia represents the Sun, Luna represents the Moon, Cadance represents love, and Twilight now represents friendship (again, from what I believe). The point is, all of the Princesses represent an important principle. Knowing that, I ask again, what would she represent? The Princess of Fashion? If they did that, not only would that be extremely cheesy/girly, the whole (brony; little girls could probably care less (which, since they're the main target audience, scares me)) fandom would go into a psychotic rage. Rarity just hasn't done anything to earn the title of princess, because she hasn't done anything to represent an important element.

No offense, but I really don't see the logic in this either. I mean I like Rarity fine, she's a great pony. But, Twilight was hoof picked by Celestia to follow in her teachings. And truthfully she kinda deserves it a bit more than Rarity. Because of all the hard work, and guidance she had gotten from Princess Celestia. I say you have a few Rarity based episode's in season 4 , Have her sing a solo number or two and I believe that makes up for not having her own episode in season 3. And I bet you that happens.

I'm sure there's some kind of Oprah meme where she makes everyone an Alicorn somewhere...

Anyway, I don't think that'll be the case.  Twilight Sparkle is obviously the Main Main character, so giving Princesshood to another member of the mane 6 would seem very... 'unbalanced'.

Although, seeing how the writers like to troll us, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened somewhere.  ;)

eh...i approve twilight being an alicorn, since she's pretty much the whole reason behind the show, but rarity? plus, i feel that she would just be more self-centered and increasing her ego. plus, i don't think her magic level is ready. one thing she has over twilight when it comes to being an alicorn: she has flight experience.

Nah that would be pretty awful. None of the other mane 6 deserve to be or are fated to be princesses. What Rarity needs to do is get her own fashion shop in Canterlot and RBow become a Wonderbolt. Don't write in destinies that don't match their characters plz.

Eh, it wouldn't make any sense to be really, i mean Twilight was the pupil of the ruler of equestria, so it makes sense, but with Rarity it would be strange, they'd need a very good explanation, besides a sorry.

Besides, there would be more conflict between bronies if it happened for sure. I don't really care for watching people fight over stuff.

So i don't agree personally.

They know that making Rarity an alicorn would ruin her absolutely as a character, thus they won't. While it makes sense for Twilight to be one, much as it is idiotic, making Rarity one has no logic whatsoever.

1. Twilight Sparkle is the most magical unicorn like, evar. (Making her a princess sort of ruined that but it's water under the bridge.)

2. Twilight Sparkle was and is Celestia's personal student. It has never been mentioned that Rarity even attended a magical school, let alone has she even really met Celestia except on few occasions.

3. Twilight Sparkle is widely regarded as the main character in the show and has the "best" element of the six (namely it being the most elusive and most powerful).

However, Rarity is basically a minor character at this point; I think she has the fewest episodes centered around her (though I have no evidence to back this up) ("A Dog and Pony Show" does not count in my opinion as it only had some scenes with her rather than the majority), and making her a princess as a lame consolation prize would actually hurt the show more than help it.

1. Rarity hasn't done anything to deserve becoming a princess besides being best character.

2. Five princesses is absolute overkill and the backlash against Twillicorn being a marketing ploy has likely made Hasbro more wary.

3. SHE WOULD HAVE TO SEE BLUEBLOOD MORE OFTEN. (gasp)

4. Her character is too complex to be able to develop; most people that write Rarity episodes handle her poorly as a character and make her shallow rather than the stellar mix of personality that she actually is.

In short, it's an inane plot twist, and I doubt that anyone would go through with this. As a rabid Rarity fan I would personally be affronted.

With Rarity becoming Alicorn Princess?

Then I'd flip a table.

Really, what's the point of this question? I think we've established at this point that Twilight's ascendance was an inevitability - she was Celestia's student, and there comes a time when the student succeeds the mentor. Though Twilight is not ready to take control of the country just yet, consider it another step in her replacement of Celestia as the reigning monarch of Equestria.

Rarity becoming one would make absolutely no sense. She desired to become a nationally praised fashion designer, not an heir to the throne.

You're asking us how we'd react to an actual jump-the-shark moment, instead of a perceived one. How do you think we'd react? Outrage, of course. There's no good justification for it, so the fans would feel insulted - they had put time and interest into the show, only for the show's staff to do something utterly idiotic.

EVERYPONY BECOMES AN ALICORN!

You're an alicorn! And you're an alicorn! And you're an alicorn!

I wouldn't think it's a good idea. She really has no reason at all to be an alicorn. Sure she's great with fashion, but princess of fashion? Really? Some how I don't think that would bode well. Besides, she already GOT to be an alicorn! Back in season one, in the sonic rainboom episode, she had a pair of wings, if you recall. Granted, they where magically created wings, not something she as born with, but still wings are wings.

Well, I got the idea from looking at the Avatar of a friend of mine here on the forums and I thought about Rarity, and how I used to feel that, in a way, she's objectively best pony. What with her having a goal that's shared by most human beings: rising from the depths of anonymity and becoming popular. And the whole "Was this any other show, she'd be a mean girl. But not here" I also think she's objectively really pretty.

But i digress, I just thought that she would be a better candidate than anyone other than Twilight. Believe me, I know that the idea is kinda stupid. It just crossed my mind one day and I couldn't get it out.

Honestly it doesn't make sense for any of Twilight's friends to become alicorns. And If they all became alicorns then I would really consider stopping watching the show from then on. I would go back and watch all episodes from before that season. I don't think there is any way to write that into the current story of MLP:FiM so I'm not too worried about having to just watch old episodes.

Lemme stop you right there. Rarity is not objectively best pony because you believe her plight appeals to the most people. To say she is objectively best pony is to imply that she is somehow better than the rest of the cast as a result of something independent of the thoughts and feelings of sentient beings. Desiring to rise from anonymity to popularity is not objectively the most popular goal, unless of course you possess definitive evidence gathered from extensive research stating clearly that most people ultimately desire to rise to popularity. And even then, implying she is somehow superior as a result of sharing a goal with a larger group of people assumes that a majority's opinion is objectively better.

And don't even get me started on the phrase 'objectively really pretty'. It implies there is some dominant cultural opinion of what is considered pleasing in a female, when this simply isn't the case.

No, Rarity is subjectively best pony, in your opinion. It holds no more objective truth than my or anyone else's opinion, and therefore is equal. End of discussion.
