Simple topic.

Do you enjoy playing solo, with a group of friends, or a LOT of people you can meet just playing that you may not really know?

Do you enjoy playing against the AI and NPCs of a game, or do you enjoy fighting something that has another player behind it?

Who do you enjoy playing with?

Solo/Singleplayer - Alone. You play because you feel the others mess you up, are shy, or like to record boss solo videos to show off to the world? Maybe you're like Kirito, a solo player from Sword Art Online, or Mionelol, an excellent World of Warcraft boss soloist?

Group Multiplayer - You like a group of friends to have fun with in a game. You coop to work with other players to get the job done and have fun with a laugh. Maybe you played a game where you and your friend tried to use traps to kill eachother and had a jolly ol' time? Maybe you worked together to finally beat Ornstein and Smough? Or maybe you and your friends are working together to gear in heroics to start raiding with the guild?

Massive Multiplayer - Playing with, taking advantage of, and just interacting with a massive amount of people in general. Interactions including marketplaces, random ques, or randomly seeing a random person in a random quest area. You really don't know anybody, but they are what make a massive multiplayer online videogame go round.

In a game, how do you prefer to play? Against people or against AI?

PvE/PvM/AI - Involves playing against artificial intelligence. Usually to progress in gear or storylines.

PvP - Involves playing against other players. Usually competitively.

-------------------------

Personally, I'm more of a solo player. I can play in groups and play around with the community, but I just feel a lot more accomplished when I beat a hard boss alone. If there is anything I CAN'T beat alone, I'll get some people.

Also, I chose that I like playing as a PvPer because I don't have the time to dedicate to PvE in the types of games I play. PvE in what I play usually take dedication and stress to improve and get ready for the guild's next runs. Besides, playing against other players can be different each time and depend on the skill you have compared to the skill they have and outsmarting enemies or enemy teams.

I am an MMO player. However, I'm no bruiser when i'm in the game. I'm almost always a support, the reason why i support is because it's easy and fun :D Crowd control, De-buffing and healing other players is great!

I'm a big fighting game fan. I love to go head to head against worthy opponents. I usually just have a small group of friends/ family that I play against, everyone calling next and talking trash. Good times, good times  ^_^. I also like to play some co-op games in small groups as well, but there isn't that many fun co-op games that aren't shooters these days -- what I wouldn't give to be able to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles with everyone again.

So yeah, group and PvP.

I'm really used to playing games solo but I do jump into multiplayer every once and a while to play with friends and to just spend some time playing with others. It's super satisfying slaying others in a online game.

Really, I'll play any kind of game, although I usually like playing games alone.

There are some exceptions, but for the most part I find it easier playing alone rather than with someone else.

I'm used to playing solo but it always gets boring at times when your playing a game that is popular and you just lose interest. So I play with other players or friends and I love to play against other players. Sometimes there are games that have a better multiplayer than single player and other games that are the other way around. But I prefer the multiplayer than the single player, while a game that ruins the multiplayer aspect but the single player is better. Call of Duty: Black Ops II, that's about it.

I'm more of a solo/singeplayer gamer. I play on console and I feel like "I bought this game for the story and single player experience. Multiplayer is just a little something extra." If its a game that has campaign co-op, I still feel the need to do it by myself... I feel like others are just a bother unless its like... a second playthrough.

A good game that is AMAZING for the single player and pretty awesome with MP is The Last of Us. Its games like those that I enjoy most. With effort into the story that captivates the player. Not something half assed like CoD storys.

Im a good mixture of everything. Sometimes I like to chill out by myself in something single player, sometimes I want a good multiplayer match or two. And I do play one MMO quite often so long as im not in one of my little hiatuses I take.

Same goes for pvp vs pvm, I usually prefer pvm over pvp, but on some occasions I actually wanna see how I stack against other players.

I usually enjoy single the most, of course it comes down to the game, and seeing how I play mostly the single player for the stories and mechanics, I don't and never will like CoD-type games and generally love RPGs.

When it comes down to Co-op, I usually don't do that much, because I don't have people to play with. Most of my friends don't really buy games, yarr, yarr, and that type of multiplayer doesn'really work. With random people, co-op usually ends up in being annoying, as (in my experience anyway) people often screw up the game or, in fact, join with the intention of screwing up the game.

And then, MMO(RPG) I guess I should mention that, since the amount of time I spent in those is quite astounding. I usually play PvE and often solo as much as I can, and PvP, I really like it in GW1 and even was pretty good at it, but I don't particularly love it in other games to be honest.

I guess it is because I'm tactics & statistics guy and that was GW1, making builds for the whole alliance, planning teams with great synergy, that was my field and GW1 offered thousands upon thousands of combinations and possibilities in that respect, which is why I loved it... But can't say I enjoyed PvP very much in any other MMO.

I like singleplayer the most, because it's more customizable than multiplayer. I'm also more of a non-PvP guy. I don't like fighting others. (Although I love playing Ace of Spades)

I enjoy both actually. I can enjoy a single player game like Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption, or Final Fantasy, but I can also enjoy myself playing Battlefield 3, Minecraft, and other various games with friends. Both have their pros and cons.

Mostly solo, though I also play a lot of small team games. When I play MMO's, it's only with friends. I used to play them by myself, but most are no longer fun without other people to mess around with.

As for PVE or PVP, I enjoy both. I lean towards PVE, though, since my favorite games are story driven (usually RPGs, but I play plenty of other genres).

When I play PVP, it's always for fun, not to win. I still try to win, but I can still have a good time losing. I'll try really weird playstyles/builds, sometimes just to mess around, sometimes to troll other players.

SOLO, SOLO, SOLO.

I usually hate playing games with others because:

A. I'm way too shy and don't have much to say.

B. The people who I do split screen co-op with in real life SUCK. I mean, they REALLY suck at co-op games.

C. Some other random thing.

The only time I make an exception is when I feel pressured in to playing. I hardly ever do it by choice and I force myself to play with certain people on my friends list or whatever.

Besides, my voice is downright awful to hear, I'm unfunny, and I'm too shy to ever voice my opinions. So, I'm practically useless on private co-op.

On complete strangers multiplayer, I seem to play extremely well but I still feel nervous and scared.

There...I think that's my answer.

While I mostly play solo, I really like playing group multiplayer with my friends. I mean, who doesnt love to play a round of your favourite games with your closest friends?

As for PVE vs PVP, I would sooner take PVE. I don't like the unpredictability in PVP and I cant get out of my old WoW habit of panicking when I see someone running towards me to engage in combat. I used to play a warlock and my only reaction was to spam the 3 key (fear, ironically). I would get taken out in a few hits because I wasn't built properly and playing a random warsong gulch game.

I just can't have fun playing like that. In PVE, I have some sense in how strong the monsters are and what I'm getting myself into. I'm okay with FPS PVP though for some reason, I think I have Metroid Prime Hunters to thank for that.

I am an avid play of all these different categories of games, the only thing is I spend more time in games with some kind of Multiplayer pvp. The main reason for that is they offer the most re-playability for me. These games tend to be MMO's like WoW, RTS' like Starcraft 2 and MOBA's like LoL. However I am very fond of the Halo 4 multiplayer. I prefer team based games over 1v1.

But I do like some single player games like The Elder Scrolls series, and Final fantasy. But I play them for the story, once it is experienced, I can only re-play it so many times before it gets a bit stale.

And I do like regular Co-op games such as Monster Hunter, and most console games as they provide the same experience as a Single player game, except with a friend. Though this and single player games tend to be short lived for me as I like the competitive part of multiplayer pvp games.

I was always more of a single player kind of gamer. Mainly because I play for the sake of the story. I do enjoy co-op in most games that have it. I would like to play more PC games, but my PC is out of date. My PC couldn't run today's games without having lower than 15 frame rates per second. tongue.png  I would like to save some money and buy a really nice gaming PC, but that will take a while. I tend to focus on action role playing and real time strategy games. The only MMORPG I've played for a long period of time was Dungeon Fighter Online, which was mostly on PvE.

Solo. 100% SOLO.

I hate HATE HATE multiplayer and I'm referring especially to online multiplayer.

It can have its good moments, but 90% of the time I've played it, all it is is a bunch of people who are only there to feel superior to others and the constant bickering, insults, belittlement, trolling, and ego-stroking just sucks the fun out of it for me.

The only time I'll play multiplayer is with very close friends, and preferably on a closed server. Though even then, it depends on the friends because some of my mates can get a bit annoying online.

No, I much prefer playing a nice relaxing session by myself at my own pace and my own skill level, where I don't have to impress anybody, I can play how I want, and neckbeards aren't yelling insults into my headphones.

Online. Definitely online. I competitively play FIFA so playing against AI is boring. But playing agaimst a person is where its at. Its fun and frustrating. Same with Call of Duty or Battlefield. Playing offline gets boring. I love playing against other people, and I also like winning. If my local conventions had FIFA tournaments, I'd go for it.

I like singleplayer and all types of multiplayer, depending on the game. I like PvE. I hardly ever play PvP, and when I do, it's usually just because someone asked me to.

I mostly play solo, and I've only played a few MMO games. I also don't have many chances to hook up with my friends online, so that's a big reason to why I play alone.

I love games that play against the world, monsters, and the environment. I rarely ever play games that are against other players.

Solo all the way. I RARELY play games with other people. If I'm playing coop, I feel rushed when I wanna take my time and see the sights. When I'm playing against other people, there's too much difference in my skill and theirs and I either lose by a large margin or win by a large margin. There is ALMOST never a middleground and that annoys me.

I'm always in it for the story, setting and gameplay above all else. I do not require human interaction to make that better.

Really depends on the game for me.

Like when I played WoW, it was always PvE, I loved it (especially tanking and healing)

If I play a FPS, I like playing online(cept for games like Bioshock), not in a group (that way I can just chill and not worry about talking into the mic)

RTS, definitely like playing the AI (Starcraft online terrifies me, lol)

MOBAs I like playing in groups, and usually do cause I usually get invites as soon as I log on, but sometimes I just wanna relax and stay off the mic, so I like soloing there too sometimes. (plus it's fun to try and play hero in a PUG vs team scenario)

Sports games(mostly NHL games), I definitely like Be a Pro mode(to be one player on a team) or GM mode, and rarely play online(when I do, I do well, but there's too many people abusing glitches, and I refuse to do that)

I guess you could say it all depends
