Best console recording equipment or software and microphones?

I recently got a Dazzle capture card to record my console footage with, but the footage didn't come out exactly how I wanted it to.

I'm also having trouble in the microphone department, too.

Does anypony know of any console recording equipment and microphones that are of quality and affordable?

If you wanna record in good quality then your gonna have to have some dough first. I would recommend the Hauppauge HD PVR which is about $180 from the official site or you can find a gaming edition from Best Buy that's $130

For the mic I would definitely go with the Blue Snowball mic that goes for $60 on Amazon. These are the best I've seen so far and while not entirely cheap their quality is darn good. I hope I helped.^^

Never buy a Hauppauge.

I got the Hauppauge HD-PVR 2 for Christmas and it gave me nothing but problems.

Software blue screened my PC, 6 second lag to start recording, audio problems,

crap tech support and the software they support you is horrendous.

Get an Elgato Game Capture. Much smaller, easier to use and overall better quality.

Plus the Elgato works on Mac's too.

Plus the Elgato has 70% more positive reviews than the Hauppauge.

@,

Well, I said I need a console recording software. I already have Fraps and stuff, so I'm good for PC stuff.

I need something that records console with quality.

If its 6th generation games (or wii games) and earlier then you can't go wrong with a DVD recorder and a copy of xmedia recode on your PC, since those games don't output larger than 480p (with the exception of some xbox games) The problem is syncing your personal recorded audio.

I've never really understood how people would record a video game (Yes, I mean 360, PS3, Wii, and Gamecube games) with a DVD Recorder. I've seen people do it, but I wonder how they set it up.

How?

Angry Video Game Nerd records his footage with a DVD recorder. You have the system plugged to the DVD rec which sends a signal through the DVD rec to your TV without lag. You record the footage with the DVD rec and your audio with your computer. Make sure to make notes so you can sync the audio with your game footage. Finalize the DVDr and put it in your computer. Since the recording doesn't have copyright locks on it you can just rip the footage in Xmedia recode or Handbrake. Then its all editing form there

The Roxio game capture is a generally goon one at best.

I tried some beta footage with it and I can say it is well worth buying for some very good quality and at a right and decent price.

It works on your PC to record PS3 and 360 gameplay.

Elgato is for consoles.

When i said it works for Mac's i meant the software is compatible with them.

Sorry if i made it sound confusing.

I actually just looked up a few how-to's of that thing. It looks great, it looks like it works great, and plus, I can stuff it in my pocket for transportation :)
