Uh, most people find her worst pony, but all bullies have a reason too psychologically, right? I bet once she lets open her feelings in a healthier way, like Babs, she could be friends with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I don't really mind her, actually. She has potential. :)

She's OK.  She is just a basic snobby rich brat, but she does it well, so I can't really complain too much.  The episodes with her in them are pretty good, and she has some great lines.

I don't really like, but I don't really hate her..
She's just basically the Nelson Muntz of the series. The main threat for the younger characters in the show.

Have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over..

I'm not going to lie...I actually kind of like Diamond Tiara...she has a nice color scheme and she's not really that bad.

She's okay for an character you're meant to hate.

I just wish they gave her a reason to be mean spirited rather than her being mean for the sake of being mean.

I like the chemistry between her and Applebloom because they are rivals in a way.

I don't hate her or like her.

She's just serves one purpose one : Being the playground bully. Since the cutiemark crusader episodes aren't my top favourites I don't have to see her much. The only thing she's got going for her is her colour scheme

An uncompromising attitude works wonders for a character when done properly, but I find the egocentric direction to better suit more adult ponies. Sometimes it almost feels like Diamond Tiara is too young for her own good, and that her short life so far doesn't afford her any excuse to employ that level of snootiness.

It doesn't help that her antagonistic ways usually concern pretty trivial things; she comes off as simply irritating rather than as a genuine threat.

Until her background is torn open for all to see, she won't really be able to command a good level of respect or acceptance for her actions...both from the canon ponies and from ourselves. :P

She's actually one of my favorite atagonists of the series. I didn't really think much of her at first but I've come to love her after writing that blog post. She's got a nice color scheme, she's mean, she's bossy and, surely, there are reasons for why she's such a bully (I'll be really disappointed if the writers make her out to be really shallow). She plays her role admirably.

I wouldn't call her pretty, but I wouldn't call her ugly either. I don't hate her, but I don't love her. Really, she's just adorable in her own little way, and personally, I love her color scheme. Her only problem is that she needs a few life lessons under her belt.

I'll try to keep this short...I've spoken about Diamond Tiara on these forums before, so I won't rehash everything that I have already said. However I will say that I wish the writers would have been kinder to her. I understand that she is meant to be a minor antagonist in the story, but give her some backstory at least. If you are making a character that is meant to be hated, at least give it some redeeming qualities. The Diamond Tiara we have is far too transparent, and two dimensional to be a truly great villain. MLP: FiM has created a standard in great programming for children. Something that Lauren Faust set out to do, but in her absence it seems the writers have failed to deliver. At least in regards to Diamond Tiara to be sure. I have other complaints about the writers, all of which are best used on another topic at another time.

I like Diamond Tiara for what she can be, and not what the writers have made her out to be. I think we should be given a deeper perspective on who she is, and why she acts the way she does. Something redeeming, and thoughtful. Though from what I've seen of the writers so far...I doubt it. They seem to be more interested in being cruel to DT, at least from what I've observed. I have decided to embrace Diamond Tiara, because in many ways the act of doing so expresses the core concepts of what it means to be loving and tolerant. Something I think many of my fellow bronies fail to do. Just mentioning DT and SS on a Facebook page, and watch the sick and depraved come out of the woodworks describing in detail the terrible things they want to do to these children. All for the very minor offenses these two have comitted. I've seen such despicable things said about DT and SS from a group of people who should know what it means to look beyond what we are shown. For me, DT and SS , separate the open minds from closed ones.

@, From the way you're describing in the latter half of your second paragraph, you're assuming that people like myself and others here should "love and tolerate" Diamond Tiara like you do. Well, that ain't gonna happen, and "loving and tolerating" unconditionally is one of the most dangerous ways anyone can do, brony or not. Diamond Tiara is a manipulative, classless, bitchy bully whose purpose is to make the CMCs' lives hell. There are plenty of people around the world who met people exactly like her and suffered long-lasting psychological damage from bullying. If you think they're gonna embrace a bully, then forget about it. People don't tolerate bullies like DT or SS; nor should they.

All for the very minor offenses these two have comitted.

Offenses like manipulating Babs Seed into joining them to joint bully the Cutie Mark Crusaders and threatening to embarrass the CMC in the Foal Free Press are not "minor," and you're kidding yourself by proclaiming them as such.

  1. In Ponyville Confidential, Tiara instructed the Cutie Mark Crusaders to publish stupid gossip columns under the Gabby Gums sockpuppet; if they tried to quit, they would get publicly embarrassed in the Foal Free Press. Tiara lured the CMC in the form of dangerous mind games.
  2. Those mind games continued in One Bad Apple when she coerced Babs Seed into joining a ruthless crusade to drive the CMCs crazy. Tiara, Spoon, and Babs all put the CMCs under constant fear.

———

And this leads to answering the OP itself. Conceptually, she has the ability to be a very likeable antagonist or extremely, psychologically delicious, corrupted businessfilly. Episodes like Ponyville Confidential are where she was at her A game. She was a bully, but it wasn't the one-dimensional "I'll-scare-the-shit-out-of-you" type. She meant business, was extremely calculative, scheming, manipulative, and smart. She had genuine character development that didn't merely fall into the stereotypical "rich bitch" concept. She was her father's image on the opposite side of the "attitude" scale.

Unfortunately, there has been nothing else after nor before that that makes Diamond Tiara stand out as a three-dimensional antagonist. Besides that one episode, she is the rich bully who yearns to get her way via a one-dimensional personality. The genuine conniving, corrupted, businesslike development has since been retconned, and she's flatter and flatter. She has the potential to be that memorable, creative antagonist, but she's now merely the common bully that too many people know in real life, and the potential we truly see out of Diamond Tiara is confined in fanwork.

Eh, she's okay I suppose. A little bitchy, but I'm sure there's a reason for that. I never really liked her character, she just never really interested me all that much either. Plus she bullies some of my favorite characters (CMC), so that makes me like her a little less also.

I actually do not like Diamond Tiara. She's just...ugh, she's just unpleasant. I like to think she bullies the CMC just out of pure rudeness. I don't know, I just don't think every bully should have a story.

What fun is there in making sense?

I recognize that Diamond Tiara is a spoiled brat who torments the CMC, but although I don't hate her I am not in love with her either. She is your typical bully character, though they could flesh her out a bit more. I did like her in Ponyville Confidential, she seriously reminded me J Johah Jameson who is a reporter who constantly goes out of his way to report stories that make Spiderman look bad.

I actually like her and Silverspoon both. I joke with my friend that they're my favorite little bullies. I really hope she gets some character developement. I'm interested in her motivations as a character. I would hate it if she was written as being a bully because she's spoiled or just for the sake of being a bully. I hope that they make future episode revolving around her and Silver that really tugs at my heart strings.

Besides, I like her mean facial expressions, especially in the Gabby Gums episode. And I thinks she's excellently voiced. :)

Well, this character was meant to be hated by the community, as they do in every single shows.

A tv show without any antagonists would be awful, right?

So well, she is an important character, she have a big role with the CMC, which is to cause problems.

I don't like her, obviously, but she is important.

I don't hate her, but I don't like her either.

She's pretty much like angelica from the rugrats, just selfish and mean to others.

I do love how she gets what she deserves in some episodes though.

This voices my exact opinions almost word for word.  As a character and a plot device she does her job well, which is to provoke the CMCs and be an easy-to-dislike antagonist.
