Anyone here on the forum a parent?

Well I'm 14 so no of course not. And if I was for some horrible reason I would never be able to balance school and parenting, it would just be to much work. I believe in waiting till marriage to have kids so that's what I am going to do. It has nothing to do with Christianity I just think that is a good idea.

I'm an aunt! But of course, that doesn't count. Silly me!

I'm certainly old enough to be a parent, but really I'm fine not being a parent at this age. I have yet to actually graduate with a Bachelor's degree and am working a near-minimum wage job, so, that wouldn't work so well. xD

Not sure that I'll ever be a parent, though, to be honest.

Although I am not a parent, I just wanted to say that ever science I was 17 I started to have friends that where pregnant and becoming parents and it is so weird once it started to happen, mainly because you still feel like kid and can't believe it's happening.

That same can be said for friends getting engaged and getting married.

I'm too young to be a parent, and right now I feel I don't want to have kids at all or just have them when I'm a lot older. I see having children as somewhat a burden, especially when they're a baby and I know my life is going to change a lot when I have a child. I want to enjoy life as much as I can, find a partner, then take care of one.

Not a parent but play a fairly large role raising and looking after my three youngest brothers personally XD would like to be one in the future but yeah I'll stick with brothers at the moment. I could have been in a stupider life, one of my Exs wanted to have a baby when we were dating to get on 16 and pregnant.......yeah I got the F*ck out of there XD

Yeah, I don't see how parenting in highschool could work. Especially for people involved in afterschool stuff.

Heck like I said I don't think I'd want to have them even in college. I can only take so much at once.

And I'm a Christian, but like you said it has little to know reasoning as to why I'm waiting until I'm married and even out of college, but it just seems a good idea.

I'm an aunt! But of course, that doesn't count. Silly me!

Well I'm like 16 and I guess in a really strange step relation I may be some form of an uncle, but I think I'm a bit young for that.. Having a step father really gives you a confusing family tree :P.

I think I plan on graduating with whatever degree I plan on doing(not sure yet) before I really have children. I probaly won't even end up married until I'm almost done or after I graduate college.

And yeah I think you may need more then min wage :P. I mean just for something like diapers which babies go through tons of. Not to mention food and all the other stuff.

And time of course.

And if you don't want to be a parent nothing's wrong with that, if your happy not having one and don't feel like you want one, then who's to say you have to?

I'm personally going to have one, but again it's a personal choice and not everyone wants one.

Although I am not a parent, I just wanted to say that ever science I was 17 I started to have friends that where pregnant and becoming parents and it is so weird once it started to happen, mainly because you still feel like kid and can't believe it's happening.

That same can be said for friends getting

engaged and getting married.

Are your friends also 17? Seems kinda early to me, to much work and obligations to properly raise a child I think.

I guess it would feel pretty odd though. I only know like 1 person at school who's pregnant, and I have no relation or friendship to her at all.

I think getting married in highschool is a bit early to due to how surging hormones and what not can affect you, not to mention planning a wedding during that time can be hecktic.

I guess it's up to them though, that's just me.

Well, if your to young and don't feel as if you want them it's fine.

After all it's up to you, and really I think I'm kinda young to be thinking about it in the first place, but whatever :P. you may change your mind or you may not.

I guess they are a burden in some cases, but I feel like the whole thing will be rewarding to me, plus my parents dealt with me and all the other things that come with babies or children in general. So it must be possible. Not to mention they had my brother two years later :P.

It will change your life that's for sure, which is why I'm gonna wait till I'm In a more stable time for children.

But your thoughts sound perfectly reasonable, its up to you whether you have a child or not, it's not like you have to if you don't want to. I personally do right now, but who knows maybe I'll even change my mind.(doesn't feel that likely but it can happen).

Whatever makes you happy :)

Yes I am a parent.   My wife and I have 2 kids, boy and a girl.

Yes parenting is one of the hardest and stresfull things some one can do, in terms of time, money or sanity.  Not that I hate being a parent.  I love my kids and am happy to have them.  But my wife and I agree, maybe we could of waited about 5ys first.

Oh I see, I have only one younger brother, and he is only two years younger do I never had to provide for him really. Or even take care of him since I wasn't that much more mature then him.

I've been at my cousins entertaining my little cousins, who are like 4-5 at the time, but they're parents where there and I didn't do much really.

Even when the parent of one we where with wasn't there we where with my mom. And there has been a few times where I'd be with my cousin while the moms doing something or were doing something, or when I have to take him into a public restroom or something.

I also had to make sure to help my mom and a chaperone to keep a class of 4-5 year olds in a computer class from causing chaos. Besides that I was in charge of taking the boys potty, but that's all, most of the stuff was done by my mom or the other lady.

So yeah, I don't have a big responsiablity, or ever really had one for any children, certainly not alone.

I think trying to have a baby at 16 is kinda early anyways, with highschool and all.

I'm sure that in the future when you have children and aren't In charge of your brother that your experience with your brothers will be pretty beneficial in making you a better parent. Better then me Atleast with almost 0 experience :P.

Finally! Congratulations for being the first full parent here!

Haha anyways.

A boy and a girl each, cool, I want to have 1 of each aswell when I have children in the distant future.

Yeah I imagine it can be, I don't think I even know how my own parents put up with me at times :P.

I guess if you where in a busy time when you had them I would've waited, but idk. Guess you can't go back now.

I personally plan to finish college before having any(not sure if I'll even be married by then anyways.) and then I'll go from there.

Glad to hear about parenting from an actual parent though, I was beggining to wonder if any parents where on here :P.

Way too early :P I get it happens by "accident" but doing intentionally is just stupid in high school. Yeah my brothers vary from 5,4 and 11 months so yeah it's hectic at times :P but yeah I'm sure you'd do it well :3 when all else fails google how to raise children XD there are guides on everything else so why not

Yeah way early honestly. To busy and confusing a time with highschool and hormones galore.

Wow yeah your brothers are much younger, I never had to deal with really small babies or stuff, heck I never even learned how to change a diaper.

I guess, at the very least I guess with how many boys I've had to take to the bathroom back when my mom taught that computer class I should be some kind of potty master :P.

Potty training on the other hand... An entirely different matter...

Hopefully I'll make Atleast a decent father and learn to be a good one.

And yeah that's true, google has everything else so I guess if I really need there's always google :P.

Well yeah that's what I meant, but dang, sounds a little early to me since I assume they'd still be in highschool.

College I can see but highschool seems to busy.

Even college is a bit busy for me.

I guess it would be a bit odd though feeling like your sudddenly the young one because everyone you know starts having children.

I mean I feel kinda like an odd one out being one of the oldest people at my school( if not the oldest) who has yet to date anyone in any way.

I suppose the shock of how old everyone is getting also gets to you.

Frankly I'm already shocked I'm 16, and I don't even feel like I'm mature enough to be 16, or Atleast independent enough, hardly feel ready, but I'm already a sophomore.. And half of my first school semester is almost over.

Time goes by way to fast.

I'm sure if you want to you'll have children to eventually! And feel less odd and left out. :)

Hey don't sell yourself out, you never know! Don't be down on yourself so much! Your just as capable and awesome a person as anyone else here!

Look, I see what you are trying to do, but please don't. I know and everyone else knows that I am not capable. There is nothing attractive about me in the slightest. Don't say that there is because there isn't.

No, and luckly I'm the youngest of my siblings by such a large margin that I grew up a only child, and honestly I don't if I'll ever have kids(in the event I actually find a girlfriend) because the thought of raising a kid that shares my bloodline honestly scares the shit out of me.

Ah i see, well, fair enough if you do or don't is a personal choice of your own completely up to you! :D.

I haven't had a girlfriend yet either at 16, but i'm still gonna have kids and am not even that worried with finding one yet.

How come your scared of it though? I can see raising them being hard, but idk.

Its ok ifr you don't wanna say, just curious ;p.

Your choice again, not like you have to have them or something, i'm pretty sure it ain't a law anywhere ;p.

I am a parent! laugh.png

I am the father to a beautiful 3 year old girl. She just turned 3 in August and her name is Ivory. Me and her mother aren't together but we maintain a good relationship, as in we can go out as parents together to do fun stuff with Ivory without fighting or being immature.

Being a parent is a very crazy thing! At first you start out with the "Oh No!"'s but after you finally get a feel for it and actually fall in love with your child then its actually a blessing. At least thats how it was for me, when I saw her in the hospital all my worries went away and its been an easy three years ever since.

Here is a picture of her on her 3rd Birthday, and yes that is the Princess Cadence/Shining Armor Wedding playset behind her. She calls them Mommy and Daddy Pony and makes me play with the Shining Armor and she plays with her Rainbow Dash. And we play Pony family img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

I Love her haha

[Edit: Also she has a Twilight Sparkle hair extension that she always wants back in her hair, calls it a "Pony Pretty"]

Well, I'm still a child myself, and for the most part, a virgin, so the answer is a definite no. Well, do animals count as children? If so, I'm the mother of 30-or-so chickens, 4 cats, 2 dogs, and whatever critter I can find in the backyard that I can adopt as my own.

Haha, congratulations on being the 2nd parent to post here then!

Your daughter is so adorable <3. and Ivory is a really nice name.

My parents aren't together either, and don't care for each other, but i'm glad to hear that you don't let it affect your daughters life!

And yeah I imagine so, i mean like i've said before its a new experience so i can imagine it might be difficult, just thinking about it. Even more so if your like me and not exactly possessing any childcare experience. I don't even know how to do simple things like properly feed a baby, or change diapers. ;p.

And then theres more and more things to deal with as they get older, like discipline, and teaching them different things, sending them off to school, learning to take care of them properly, potty training, all the embarrassing, and/or complicated situations they can put you in.

And more gets thrown in as others get thrown out of the responsibilities.

I guess after some time it'll come to me when i'm old enough and have children.

Glad to hear that things have been "easy" for you :P. Hopefully they fall under the somewhat easier category for me, but i'm sure they'll be plenty of trouble at times.

And aww. Thats cute :D

Its nice to hear about your child and experiences as a parent, so thank you for sharing!

Well, I'm still a child myself, and for the most part, a virgin, so the answer in an definite no. Well, do animals count as children? If so, I'm the mother of 30-or-so chickens, 4 cats, 2 dogs, and whatever critter I can find in the backyard that I can adopt as my own.

Yeah, i mean i'm still 16 so yeah ;p.

And while animals can be almost like family, depending, technically they don't count as children and make you a parent ;p.

But it sounds like you have something close to if not more then a handful compared to taking care of children ;p.

But i think the child has to be of the same species, and come from you (or in a males case your wife) so yeah ;p.

I think i'm taking this to bluntly, but yeah I understand what your saying haha.

We only have 1 dog right now, and i don't have children again being only 16, and having not dated anyone yet anyways, besides i don't really wanna bother with anything until i'm married and older.

I'm not and I never will be. Kids are a freaking hassle and I can't find any reason to want them. I've always been this way, even when I was a lot younger. I'm never having kids. I've firmly decided.
