It's gotta be Franklin. Out of the three, he seems to have the most stable personality and I relate to him the most. In spite of appearing to be the most inexperienced of the trio, he comes a long way with his guts and really shines especially as the story progresses. Michael comes a close second. Although I don't relate to him as much as Franklin, I really do sympathize with him for doing what he can to keep his family safe and out of trouble.

 

Trevor, on the other hand, he was amusing at first with his craziness but his shenanigans grew a little old on me. I can understand why he's so troubled, especially considering how far along I am in the story, but he's also coming off as being too self-centered and willing to murder anyone who he thinks crosses him.

Well, Michael is my personal favorite, and here's how I would rank them:

 

1. Michael 
2. Franklin
3. Trevor

While Trevor did have his funny moments, I didn't really enjoy him all too well. I'm pretty neutral on Franklin and I love Michael. Michael is my favorite because he does have flaws, namely his anger problems, he's a badass character, he's living the big city life, and I just adore him overall. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of his "rough-sounding" voice.

I'll admit too, Michael is growing on me even more now since the last solo mission I played with him.

The one where poor Molly was reduced to nothing but red pulp in a jet engine. That bitch went nuts for no reason at all T_T

In order:

 

1. Michael because I like his missions the most, he's got a family that makes it interesting and I like playing as guys in suits.

 

2. Trevor because of how funny, random and crazy he is.

 

3. Franklin was my favourite in the beginning, but because of certain events, I kind of dislike him now. Though he's the most "innocent" out of them all which is what I kind of like, and his special ability is the one I use the most.

They're all great characters in their own way, I like them all almost equally.

 

Anyway, despite me sporting a display name and avatar of Franklin, Michael is my favorite. His missions are always great to play in, he is kind of relatable to me. His special ability is decent, and I always like playing as him.

 

My second favorite protagonist is Franklin. He is quite relatable to me, his special ability is great, and he has his good missions.

 

My third favorite protagonist is Trevor. He can be pretty funny, even though he's pretty crazy, and as well, his missions are fun and I really like his special ability.

All of them have their very entertaining yet individual qualities. Michael is actually my favorite character because, of how he has to deal with a dysfunctional family that he hates dearly. It's pretty hilarious, really.

Michael is my favorite because as far as I got, he got cheated on and he didn't do anything drastic. Well except pulling that house off the edge. He's a good father. Not great, but good. Always looking after them.

 

It is funny when Trevor curses and gets mad when you hit something xD

I totally agree with you on that ranking. I don't know why so many of my friends love Trevor, I hated him the moment I saw him. And Michael has his moments, sure, but he's kinda bland. But Franklin is great for that quasi naive personality he brings to the trio. Plus the bond between him and Michael was nice.

basically, i love the originality of michael. we've had tons of GTA's with gangsters and such like franklin. and trevor is just... well he's awesome. but he's also bat-shit crazy.

Trevor, cayse he's crazy as hell and wakes up random places completly wasted sometimes doing funny things and you can make he do impressive things with his special, like jump out a plane and survive

 

Micheal- no matter how crazy he is he still lives his family and will draw a penis on people to prove it

 

Franklin- well my favorite thing about franklin is his special, makes driving so much eaiser

I decided to skim everypony else's responses, mostly because I'm only half-way through the game and I'm a bit scared there might be spoilers, but I'm definitely going to say Franklin is my favorite. He's the easiest to relate to of the three to me, and I like his personality and his story.

 

Now, that's not to say I don't like Michael and Trevor. I love them both, and they're pretty much tied in my book.

Michael De Santa comes first. I felt for him in the family sub-plot, I was just as scared to Trevor as he was, and we're both people that don't tell too much and probably aren't trustworthy.

 

Trevor's lines and the outfits I put him in are solely the reason I like to play as him; next to his "F*ck it!" attitude, that and the quotes: "Here darling, why don't you go get yourself something nice?" "Thank you. This... this is $7." "I said something nice, not expensive. You want to be a greedy f*cking cow, huh? No. Now get the fuck out of here."

 

Franklin is my favourite black video game character. That's all I'm saying. He comes in second.

Franklin is my personal favorite, not really sure why. Michael is alright too. Trevor is fun to rampage with, but I guess I don't find him terribly relatable..?

Trevor is the most entertaining character, but Franklin is the most down to earth cool character. Like, I think I would get along with Franklin. I play as Franklin the most, but I still like playing as the others.

Franklin, by far. He is one of the only characters in the game that isn't a horrible human being. I honestly never found Trevor or Micheal appealing whatsoever, not even in a cooky, funny way.
