Hello everypony! :) Anyone here listening to punk or punk/rock here? And what's your favorite punk or punk/rock band?

Would be pleased to find more Rise Against and/or Anti-flag fans :D

I was born for Punk/Rock man. Rage Against The Machine and The Offspring are two of the more current ones I'm listening to but I got some more in my catalog to listen to.

I suppose you'd class these bands as punk/rock:

1)Breaking Benjamin

2)Three Days Grace

3)Disturbed (More metal)

4)Avenged Sevenfold

I'm also partial to a bit of Trivium but I don't enjoy their songs that contain loads of screaming.

Umm... None of those are punk. Punk is characterized by very simple, stripped down instrumentation (usually just a guitar, a bass, some drums and vocals. No synths, extra guitars, studio editing, etc.). Very simple musically, with fast, repetitive riffs that are easy to play. The lyrics are usually political or make some commentary on social issues. The vocals are generally harsh and flat (not a lot of pitch change).

The bands you mentioned are all various types of metal.

I don't listen to much punk. A little sex pistols, some dead kennedys, against me, not much else. I generally like more technical music, but a lot of punk does have a sort of simplistic, over-the-top charm to it.

Rise Against and the Offspring!

Always looking for more music to listen to (Not just punk/rock)

Which reminds me, I went to a punk rock concert last week... I must say they were the worst bands I have ever heard... I can't even remember their names.
