Rarity according to the wiki

So a bit of time ago i was on the wiki and i went to the antagonists page. On this page in the list of antagonists i saw rarity. I speculate that it is because she didn't have an episode in season 3 so she wanted revenge. 

 

If for any reason do you see rarity as any sort of antagonist?

Just a badass, yet poorly executed villain-version of Rarity.

I don't really see Rarity as an antagonist myself, and I'm sure there are any episodes where she behaves so outside of the bounds of good behavior that it qualifies as villainy (the closest I think it could come is Sonic Rainboom)

Nightmare Rarity is not canon, nor are the rest of the comics, so I consider this as about as much proof of Rarity being a villain as fanfiction.

That doesn't matter. It's a licensed comic, and that means Wikis will have to include it, canon or not.

But otherwise no, she doesn't fit the whole antagonist thing at all otherwise, she has never attempted anything against the main characters, her friends, and doesn't have evil intent. And infact loves her friends very much.

 

So no, she isn't an antagonist in the show.

Well I need clarification on the subject manner of this list. Does it encompass all villains in every MLP based medium that has been released or only the show? As I have not seen the list this thread is based of off I am unaware.

I suppose they're just going by the comics.  I mean, otherwise, what... maybe Discorded Rarity from Return of Harmony?  Even then, the other ponies other than Twilight would have to be counted too.

Which wiki exactly? Eh regardless, I just don't buy it. Besides the whole Nightmare Rarity thing in some fan comic, I don't see any reason why she should be listed as a cannon antagonist. I'm not sure why she's on there. Maybe some fan/troll wanted to pull off some kind of joke? Idk.

They're canon. I don't have the sources on my person right now, but they have full backing by Hasbro, the writers actually consulted with the production team when coming up with stories, and unless the show's writers want to change something down the line, the comics are indeed canon.

 

So yeah, I'm gonna agree with @ here and say it's probably talking about Nightrare Moon.
