How do other pony races get married?

After watching "A Canterlot Wedding" for the billionth time, I thought...

 

Where are the rings put on a pony who isn't an alicorn of unicorn? Because in "A Canterlot Wedding" - the ring goes on the horn, and I couldn't possibly imagine where else a ring could go on an Earth pony of Pegasus.

 

So yeah, any ideas?

Good question. Maybe the non-unicorn ponies don't wear rings, because like you said where would they put them?

Hmm... but rings are a core element of getting married.

they could always use something else, like a bracelet, a shoe, maybe some hair oriniment of some kind. I'd imagine the pegesi would have some kind of necklace, they fly alot so they wouldn't want to lose it

That's a good question that i have seen several times. In some fanfics they assume that they use wedding armbands instead of rings. I also imagine Wedding earrings.

There are a lot of different things that could be used instead of rings, armbands, necklaces and more but I am sure other than that the weddings of the different pony species probably have quite a bit in common aside from that and a few other differing traditions. I think the most simple and to the point weddings tend to be earth pony weddings due to the agrarian nature of their culture and while pegasi and unicorn weddings probably have a bit more fanfare but these are simply averages and there are probably exceptions. What I am curious about is how weddings are handled when the couple are of a different pony species, it is probably a fairly common occurrence in certain parts of Equestria.

Thought of this as well. Bracelets might work, but I figure pendants of some kind would also do the trick.

 

Tangent, but I also kind of wonder what the point of the horn-rings was considering we never see Cadance or SA wearing them, the way most married couples constantly wear their wedding bands. Nor do we see any other married couples (the Cakes, for example) wearing anything indicative of being spoken for, so I'm guessing this is all just ceremonial.

I like the idea of using a necklace. I find it odd, however, that married unicorns like Cadence and Shining Armor are never again seen with their rings on. Maybe they don't usually wear rings at all, even the unicorns, and it was all because they were royalty?

I asked the same question when I saw 'Ticket Master' the first time.

I like the idea that they put it on each others hooves making it still a wedding band.
