Should I be upset about this?

So today I was riding my bike along the side of the road with some friends (in fact I wasn't even on the pavement) and for no reason once so ever this guy in a truck pulls up next to me and yells "F... You" right in my face, flips me off and speeds away. I think it made me more upset than it should have.. mostly because I don't understand how people can be so mean for no reason... Any advice? I had a bad day today and this only made everything worse :(

Happened to me a couple of months ago when I was walking with a friend. People who do that are either not thinking in their right mind (for one reason or another) or are so depraved for attention that they lash out at random people in the hopes that someone will pay them more than a moment's notice.

Either way, ignore people when they do that. No reason to get your feathers ruffled.

Its ok to be angry about that... i would too, infact I'd be scared because I didn't understand "what did I do wrong to you? I'm so sorry!" but at the end of the day, its not worth to dwell on it.

Look at it this way, you had a bad day, that guy probably did too, and he took it out on you because he had no other way to vent, wrong place at the wrong time. But you chose not to be mean to anyone that day. You had a rough day, did you go out and randomly insult someone and take off? No because you know why? You're better then that.

Hold your head up high and don't feel bad, shrug it off, tomrrow is a better day :)

You have every right to be upset, but sadly there are a lot of assholes in this world and it's inevitable to come across them. It's best to get used to it and calmly move on when people do stuff like what happened to you.

It isn't surprising that you're upset. Something like that came out of nowhere and was in no means necessary. You should try your best to ignore it, however, you shouldn't care what some guy who randomly yells curse words at complete strangers thinks or does. The world is full of idiots and rude people, you just happened to have run into one who was more than likely both.

Thank you :3 I really appreciate it, and you are right.. tomorrow will be a better day. I just wish that the world didn't have to be filled with so many (to put this nicely) 'meanie-heads'. Sometimes it is easy to forget that although there are a lot of jerks in this world, there are also amazing people like you and me and many of the other people on the forums that are supporting and willing to listen and help with your problems

Thank you everyone (<3)

Dude ive been called freak, hermaphidite, stupid, so many things. And people have done Stuff like shouting out Windows at me. Best thing to do is ignore it. I used to be bullied a lot in school as well, when I stopped giving them a reaction they stopped. Just dont worry about it.

The guy was probably just trying to purposely upset you. If you get upset, he's won. Just tell yourself that that guy's a jerkface who's probably so unhappy and insecure in his own life that he has to make other people feel unhappy and insecure. Then move on from it.

Something similar happened to me too...

I was slowly walking down the street, when someone came close to me in his car and started throwing food at me. I received a can of Pepsi, a tomato juice, a banana and a pear. Well, he wasn't aiming well, he missed everything, and I didn't even looked at him.

There is also another event where I got jumped by a freaking huge group; they were like 30 (not even exaggerating). I just turned around and walked in the other direction, while they were throwing hard baits at me. I got some injuries, they were throwing them hard.

Don't worry, I know that feeling of rage, and as you can see, my experiences were even worse. But keeping that rage won't improve the thing, just forget and move on. ^_^

I understand your anger, but unfortunately the world is filled with people like that. The best thing to do is try and ignore it. Go home and do something that helps you relax. Think of it like this, that waste of space isn't getting anywhere in life.  ;)

I have been called way way way worse than that so if some random stranger said "fuck you" to me, I probably would laugh it off and move on. There are plenty of far far worse things going that I think we really should be angry about than some random jerk mouthing off.

I would definitely understand being upset, but you've got to understand that he was probably having a very bad day, himself, and like a jackass, he took it out on someone else instead of finding a less destructive way to cope. In the past I've had random instances occur of people chucking shit at me as they drove by, but I always tried not to let it get to me. After all, their lives at home must be far, far shittier than my own in order to prompt them to be so rotten to complete strangers, right? If anything, they deserve pity...while they're off facing domestic abuse / failing in school / getting bullied themselves / being yelled at at work / getting harassed by collection agents, etc., here I am just doodlin' pones and enjoying life. No need to waste negative feelings on people who allow themselves to become so easily embittered, right? :)

No reason to be upset, sometimes people are mean and sometimes they're just being random. I think in this case it was both, so don't take it personally. I know how you feel but I also know that you shouldn't because really it's nothing to dwell on.

As everyone said above me, the world is full of people who don't a heart. People think they're all that when they're just low-down pigs who just want to have attention.

shouldn't this be in life advice? anyways, world is full of assholes, and it's upsetting that someone insults you when you didn't even meet him. But keep in mind that he won't remember you the next day, and you shouldn't either, don't let that rule your time, it's not worth it. Hate is like a poison you drink yourself

The world is full of dirtbags and I feel the same way. People like feeling like the big guy. I bet that arsewipe that yelled "F$@! You" doesn't even have a job. He probably sits on his butt all day playing xbox in his mom's basement. He goes around to bars with his facebook friends in his mom's car. Yes, none of this is true, but just pretending that it is puts me in a good mood when somebody is cruel to me. I find it hard to forget about things like that. It reminds me of how this dueche treated my sister at her job a few days ago. She is only 16 but he cussed EVERY word in the book at her. She came home crying. People are cruel, and it is best to forget about them. Thinking about them only makes them a winner.
