The Host.

My god, yes. So deserving of this title. Knowing that it came from Meyer, I actually watched this movie at home one day just to see how shit it was.

@@MLPForums Phanact Disappointing? I'd say The Host pretty much met my expectations of how bad it was gonna be lol. Maybe even exceeding them a bit.

I never saw Monsters University though, so I can't comment on that xD

Whoa there man, let's back off of Monster's University a bit. Now, maybe its just I always loved Monster's Inc as a kid, and now I'm about to go off to college myself, so that's why I love MU, but what are your reasons for disliking it? It was smartly written, lighthearted, beautifully animated, and just a nice movie experience. Not Pixar at its best, but it sure was better than Cars 2.

I'm in the exact same position as you. Had Monsters Inc as a child, loved it. Then as I'm about to go to college they release... I don't even know how to describe this.

I thought the plot just resembled Revenge of The Nerds. I didn't enjoy it at all and it was such a let down after the amount of hype it got. The whole competition just seemed like a way to shove Goblet of Fire or Hunger Games themes in the film.

The Host. Easily the worst film ever because Stephanie Meyer is just illiterate and because Andrew Niccol looks like an old leather shoe.

I watched this on a cruise.. Good heavens. It was slow, confusing, inane, filled with awful, awful cliches with nothing deeper to back it up. Body snatching aliens are a good premise with a lot of potential, if it wasn't done right so many times. This movie has no reason to exist. Well obviously to make some more money from Meyer but still...

- Pretentious narration

- Love interest with no chemistry

- Dull, dull tone

- Bad pacing

- Lousy effects

Ugh. Most of the "bad" movies people are listing like Man of Steel are just troubled. People tear them apart but to me a truly bad movie has nothing. You can't laugh with it. You just feel sort of drained and feel nothing while it's on.

I felt it was playing homage to Revenge of the Nerds, and I liked the fact that Mike didn't win, and that the message was that sometimes, no matter how hard you "want" something, its not always possible, and you have to be flexible and ready to change your path if you must. Its a much more real and useful moral to teach kids than "follow your heart/dreams".

Plus, I absolutely loved Revenge of the Nerds, so seeing the fraternity rivalries with Sully and Mike was even better! And I would totally want to join Roar Omega Roar if I was at MU! XD

After Earth.

I've heard a lot of people saying bad things about the two "President battles hostage-takers" films: Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down.

However, unlike After Earth or so many other terrible films, these two movies were not meant to be cinematic masterpieces. Olympus Has Fallen was one of the best pure action films I have ever seen. It was basically Die Hard in the White House, and it delivered that perfectly. Great one-liners, just enough character development to make you give a crap about the characters but not so much that it was trying too hard for an Oscar nomination, and plenty of action without too much goofiness. White House Down was a little more "teenage action movie-ish", but it was still fun as hell to watch too.

They weren't The Godfather or Pulp Fiction or anything, but they were entertaining without being mindless...which is more than I can say for After Earth, which was awful, but not unexpected since it came from Shamaylan, who has spent more than a decade coasting on the success of one film, without putting out anything worthwhile since that film.

I'm sure there are other terrible movies that have come out this year (The Host...Stephanie Meyer has done more to destroy both literature and culture in the last five years than anyone, or the Smurfs movie, because seriously, a live action Smurfs movie?), but I didn't actually watch them, because I knew better. So based on what I actually witnessed, nothing was worse than After Earth.

Everything was better than Cars 2. Cars 2 was the first time Pixar struck out. I mean, they had a lot of films before that, so I suppose it was inevitable that they would produce a film that wasn't excellent (no one is perfect, except Tarantino and Whedon), but Cars 2 was just....I can't even describe how bad it was. It's not even terrible compared to so many other movies, it's just a million times worse compared to the rest of Pixar.

GI Joe: Retaliation, A Good Day to Die Hard, After Earth

TBH, I have to agree with those choices.  Even though, im a big Die Hard Fan, I hated the 5th film.  Too short, and seems to not focus much on John McClane.  Its a shame.  :(

Other films i disliked were World War Z, Man of Steel, The Smurfs 2, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I haven't read the books, or saw the first movie. (But I skimmed through the synopsis) And because of this, I wasn't sure what was going on most of the time, and I almost fell asleep. Not to mention the actual Hunger Games don't even start until 2/3 of the movie in.

The only reason I had to watch it was because my parents, who have seen the first movie, had to drag me there, and they were even quite critical of it.

Scary Movie 5, but that was probably obvious, The Host, The New diehard movie, 23 minutes in got my money back from family video, World War Z was dreadful, I am a sucker for post apocalyptic nonsense, but I at the same time I would rather live in a post apocalyptic than have to watch the first 10 minutes of that piece of shit ever again. Finally Grown Ups 2, there had to be a second? enough said.

Well, not really... It could have been done so much BETTER. Here's to hoping Rainbow Rocks has a good plot. And not in that sense.

For real, though, PJ:SoM, The Host (just the fact that it was written by Stephenie Meyer), and Smurfs 2.

At least the twilight saga had SOME redeeming qualities(Heck its not even bad, its just that the fangirls are annoying). This movie makes me vomit

GI Joe: Retaliation, A Good Day to Die Hard, After Earth, R.I.P.D and Frozen

NOTE: Yes, I hated Frozen. If you are willing to rage at me, try to remember that it's my OPINION. I'll say that again, OPINION

What did you not like about it?

Worst of 2013?

I didn't see that many movies last year. ^^"

But I thought World War Z was pretty bad.

Honestly, most of the movie wasn't bad.

But the ending felt extremely rush and I didn't like it at all.

Like I said, didn't see that many movies last year though. ^^"

"You're Next". WORST MOVIE EVER. It's just a bunch of disturbing and gory deaths. People were leaving the movie only after the first 10 minutes.

Also "Wolf of Wallstreet" is on my list. Plot was bad, the acting was okay, but the storyline was just terrible.
