What's your favorite song title?

On Blue Oyster Cult's first album, there is a song called "Then Came The Last Days Of May". The song itself, while decent, is nothing to fawn over. But the title has always stuck with me. It's dramatic and ominous. Like a snippet from an amazing story.

That's my favorite song title. My birthday, coincidentally, is also one of the last days of May. But I digress. What's your favorite?

Still Alive, the song that famously plays during the ending of the 2007 game Portal. I mean, this was a triumph. I even made a note saying SUCCESS! It really is hard to overstate my satisfaction. Also, I do what I must because I can, for the good of all of us*. But there's no sense crying over every mistake, I just keep on trying 'till I run out of cake. And then your mind gets blown and you realize I'm going to the tune of the song because I am still alive.

"Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden :D

While that song is a bit overrated and they have much better stuff out there, the title is so dark, ominous, and unique, but it just fits so perfectly in as a title that you know it's a song. It's something that just rolls off of the tongue, so to speak :D

Interesting topic. I've never really considered the significance of the title of the song, so long as the music quality is good, but I guess I've been fond of:

  • Scars of the Shattered Sky, by Agalloch. The alliteration is simplistic, but very effective in my opinion. It's the final track on its album and is nearly 20 minutes long, so a climactic title would've been needed, and I think this one worked really well.

  • The Raven That Refused To Sing, by Steven Wilson. This is my 3rd favourite song of all time, and I love the title for its inquisitiveness and suggestion - why does the raven refuse to sing? Is singing not an intrinsic value of a raven? It's also the final track of the album, so a statement title works just as effectively as Scars of the Shattered Sky.

  • Shesmovedon, by Porcupine Tree. Of course, the grammatically correct version is "She's moved on", but sticking them all into the same word rushes the title along and suggests an eagerness to get that phrase over with - interesting way to set the atmosphere!

No Scrubs by TLC. The lyrics of the song are just to fitting to listen to while browsing meetup sites, and the "finding your special sompony" thread, as the song encapsulates most female responses to the males in this fandom.

There's this song by Lindsey Stirling called Swag. It's literally called Swag.

It's not my favorite though. My favorite is Kay Kyser's Jingle Jangle Jingle. Jingle jangle, mofos.
