  1. Thing about the Chrysalis scenario is that we have no way of measuring the force of those magic blasts. For all we know they had the condensed force of a supernova in directed magical form. Chrysalis's power is only limited by the amount of love her victim feels for the one whose form she takes. People tend to undersell how powerful the royal sisters truly are. I remember in the Celestia vs Superman topic listing all the abilities she has or most probably has. Its a long and all together terrifying list. That's only what we know of her. Celestia and Luna have a very ambiguous past god only knows what else they have to show off. Sombra banished an entire Empire and all its residents out of reality or perhaps sent it forward in time. So hes not to be underestimated. To be honest I seriously doubt Zod would stand a chance against Discord. His powers are pretty freaking insane. He can alter reality at will this includes conjuring matter out of thin air, altering matter, altering lifeforms, altering weather patterns, bestowing life on to nonliving objects, projecting himself through time, altering his own physical form at will, and altering the very minds of other beings. All of this he demonstrated with ease. Reality itself is his personal plaything. I don't really see Zod being able to actually hurt him any more than he could hurt a member of the Q Continuum. edit: It would also seems Discord isn't really all that dependent on one particular form. He takes on the form of a balloon for one thing. Meaning he had no organs during that time. He was a piece of sentient plastic. In that scene he also decapitated himself turning his head into said piece of inflated plastic. While his body seemed completely unaffected. With that considered it seems unlikely that direct physical harm can truly hurt him.
  2. Yeah Zod in all categories. Even giving Sunset Shimmer access to all her weapons(meaning one) and army its unfair for her. Here lets list the abilities we know sunset has and the abilities Zod has. Sunset Shimmer natural abilities -teleportation -telekinesis - an above average level of knowledge in magic unnatural(using corrupted element of harmony) -brainwashing human beings - magical projectile attacks -transmogrification Zod natural(on earth or lower grav planet) - Super Strength, no really freaking strong like destroying buildings effortlessly strong -Near invulnerability -Flight -super speed(In MOS it is indicated super sonic no more) -projected laser vision -super hearing - the ability to see the infrared and other normally invisible spectrums. unnatural(weapons and tech) - advanced space and battle worthy armor - nano technology - mind probing technology -terraforming technology that changes the density of whole planets. -Interstellar flight There is no contest here Sunset is doomed in pretty any senario. The only advantage she has is that kryptonians are vulnerable to magic. However Sunset doesn't seem to have the skill to keep up with an opponent as fast and well trained as Zod. If you had said Celestia, Luna, Sombra, or Discord then we would have a fight. Sunset Shimmer may be smart enough to run and hide. However Zod WILL FIND HER!!!
  3. I may be mistaken in this, but from what you have written it seems you think that dialog is the only way to convey characteristics. This is not so. There are many things that help establish a characters attitude, like and dislikes ect. Body langauge is key. Past actions are also indicative of character. Sombra didn't say much, However he did perform many deeds that say things about what kind of pony he was. One thing we cant say for with absolute certainty is his motivation. I think we can say it wasn't simply a matter of being rich Considering his self appointed king status. we know King Sombra was an intelligent villian as well as a powerfull one. He used his power to wipe the memories of all of the Crystal ponies so they would be unable to use their only defense. He also eliminated or tried to eliminate all reference to said line of defense. He also had a huge contingency plan in case of his defeat. He cast a spell so powerful that not even the royal sisters could stop it. A spell that banished an entire empire and all its residents from reality, or sent them forward in time. His traps say something about him as well. He was also a creative and cruel pony. Instead of using brute force he turned a pony's own fear against them. He creates a stair case that cant be climbed without the use of gravity spells. He also hides the Crystal heart in the heart of the once great empire, right in front of them. They don't know its there but if even if they did they could not reach it. I think this shows that King Sombra love to absolutely dominate the crystal ponies in pretty much every way. He dominated them physically using them as slaves and mentally by wiping their minds and sending them into inescapable disrepair. His appearance also I think this is echoed in his appearance. His appearance seems to be affected by his magic. This isn't new as we have seen this in Celestia, Nightmare Moon, and Luna. He seems to be corrupted by dark magic. Considering his characteristics mentioned above he seems completely obsessed with power and control. TLDR Considering all of his past deeds King Sombra is a really powerful, cruel, and intelligent being. He's obsessed with power and control, and controls his slaves both physically and mentally. He revels in dangling his slave's only salvation right in front of their noses knowing they cant even remember it.
  4. I doubt it. For one thing no show goes from concept to show unchanged. Lauren knew this. For another thing most companies wouldn't take the risk on this type of show for girls. Heck it was Cartoon Network that denied her pitch for the Galaxy girls despite the success of Power Puff girls. Even Hasbro was iffy about creating a show for little girls with complex characters and actual conflict.
  5. I never did deny Fluttershy's role. In my initial post I said there should be an option for both. Both parties set this scenario into motion. However I lean the blame more over to Iron Will as he took advantage of Fluttershy to further advertise his horrible assertiveness training. A training course that teaches you to be a jerk. There's also the role of examining Fluttershy's perspective in this. She has had little to no control over anything in her life. She's in this constant state of nervousness and self doubt, always underestimating and underselling herself. She thinks of herself as weak and helpless. She is trying to change that and finally decides enough is enough so she takes this new assertiveness training course. Fluttershy doesn't really understand how to be assertive so she listens to Iron Will's lessons. To her surprise they actually work. For once in her life she has control over the things around her. For once in her life she doesn't feel helpless and pathetic. So of course she is going to get a bit swept up in it. She's going to follow Iron Will's lessons to the letter because they are the only thing that has worked for her. When Rarity and Applejack try to tell her she's doing something wrong she cant accept that. She instead follows Iron Wills Lesson. Its only when she hurts her friends that she realizes what she was actually doing. Rather than blame Iron Will's teachings she again attacks herself. Claiming she is a monster and locks herself up as such. Fluttershy perceives herself to be the problem. She was doing something wrong to begin with. Iron Will reinforces that further and teaches her the "right" way. It works so Fluttershy abandons her old way of doing things in favor of the better new Fluttershy. Now instead of inwardly belittling herself she loudly outwardly does so labeling it as the old Fluttershy. It seems to me the majority is far too quick to lay the sole blame on Fluttershy. She was essentially manipulated and taught the absolute wrong way of behaving in a more assertive manner. She had no real understanding of it.
  6. You did see those animatics right? How could you not be looking forward to this? As for the factors you mentioned causing said worry. 1.) Equestria Girls was a fun spinoff movie that isn't effecting the main series 2.) I see nothing wrong with Twilicorn it progressed the character and is opening up the path to answer long sought after questions. Like the nature of alicorns and princesses in Equestria. As well as learning at least some also long sought after backstory on Luna and hopefully Celestia. In both these cases the negative reaction was extremely preemptive. Months before Alicorn Twilight happened people flipped out because of a rumor the put a negative spin on it. People already were gunning at Twilcorn as a bad thing well before the episode aired. As a result when the episode aired many latched on to any reason to hate it. Lets just list a few reasons I find rediculous. "Musicals are lazy!!! worst episode ever" *facepalm* Yep not like animated musicals are super hard to pull off or anything. Its not like it requires the finesse of two extremely hard art forms working together to get it to work nope. Pure laziness apparently. "Destiny has never been part of the show, terrible episode" Cutie Mark Chronicle's letter to Celestia focused on having a special magical connection to ones friends even before they have met. Sounds like destiny to me. "Its marketing for a new toy!!! terrible episode" Uggghhh Yes it is marketing for a new toy. The whole show is marketing for toys. Key characters were included for the sole purpose of making selling toys easier such as Sweetiebelle, Scootaloo, and Cheerilee. Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle's whole purpose seems to be for Hasbro being able to reuse some G3 molds.Don't see anyone hating on them. "There was no foreshadowing, it just came out of nowhere" This kind of boggles my mind as well. The series has been leading toward this since season one, if not alicorn then most likely princess. There are numerous visual indicators that lead one to conclude this. The fact that Twilight's element is a crown while others are necklaces. The fact that Twilight is the direct apprentice to Celestia suggests something greater lies in her future. Twilight's very name got many thinking of its relation to night and day and as a result the princesses themselves. Then there's the big hint in The Crystal Empire episode. Not to mention there is definite progress in Twilight's understanding that seemed to be leading towards something. Really this has been predicted since season one. There have been numerous fan fics and pieces of fanart on the subject. The very first thing I saw predicted on EQD after the Crystal Empire was Alicorn Twilight. Yet when it actually happens its said that it came out of nowhere? Not to mention the predictions being made as if they are fact. "Twilight's going to abandon her friends" Depite the fact the MMC focused on the importance of Twilight's friends both to Twilight herself, Ponville, and Equestria. "Twilight is going to outlive her friends" Why is this a given? Its not. This is mere supposition. also its been confirmed not to be the case, not that it will ever come up in the show anyway. "Twilight will lose all of her personality flaws" Why? Why in the world would this happen? There was no indication of this in MMC or anything else. Same with Equestria Girls. So many things were said to be horrible about this thing before it even came out. "Oh no its all going to be about stereotypical high school nonsense." Surprise surpirise it really wasnt. In fact a big message in the film was to embrace differences and come together in friendship and unity. That means uniting the stereo-typically separate groups in highschool such as the nerds, the jocks, the dramas ect. Most of the film focused on Twilight coping with this new world and form and reuniting her friends. "Oh my God it has ponies in it that means it will be cannon" Well what do you know all indications are that this isnt the case. Heck its been confirmed that Flash Sentry wont be in season four at all. The whole film seems to be made so that its a separate story that effects Equestria as little as possible. "Twilight is gonna have a boyfriend now and kiss!!! oh noes" Well again this really didn't happen. At most their relationship was slightly flirtatious and they never kiss. Heck Flash Sentry barely even appears in the movie and plays an almost insignificant part. TLDR When it comes to panicking in this and most other fandoms it seems to be preemptive and borderline rabid. Instead of waiting to see the product it is judged before any sufficient material is released to make said judgement. Take what material is given if it excites you good, if not then don't judge the whole product wait.
  7. Mysterious Mare Do Well The costume design for Mysterious Mare Do Well was great, very reminiscent of Darkwing Duck and Batman. We get some interesting character moments with Dash. She feels alone and abandoned after she is over shadowed. This is partially attributed to her own behavior as she separated herself away from the other out of jealousy. She also doubted her own self worth. We also see a bit of Scootaloo's relationship with Rainbow Dash. Even when taken in by the craze of MMM she comes to Dash to see if she would like to come with her to celebrate her new found heroin. This shows Scootaloo's feelings towards Rainbow Dash is more than mere admiration. There were also some great gags in this episode. Over dramatic Dash was amusing and convenient baby falling ledge was funny. Spike at your service. This episode was really funny. I was laughing quite a lot in my first viewing. Rainbow Dash writing self insertion fics, Rarity teaching Applejack how to be a damnsel in distress, that whole fake timber wolf scene, the death of the giant timber wolf. All in all it was a very amusing episode with some interesting character interactions.
  8. Lets see I cant really choose just one. There are quite a few I really love. Ill pick two I havn't really discussed as much. Cutie Mark Chronicles Theres one huge nagging problem in this episode for me. That entrance exam Twilight had to take makes no sense. It had already been established that baby dragons were a rare sight among ponies by this point. It has been even further established now that this is the case. This leaves one giant question for me. Why in the world did Celestia make hatching an egg of a species they know almost nothing about and entrance exam? Shouldn't this be a final exam in demonstrating amazing knowledge in magic? It seems highly unlikely that another student had ever completed this before as it seems all but stated that Spike is the only dragon baby living among ponies. So What is no one in this school? Are there dozens of baby dragons we dont know about? Sonic Rainboom Why was Rarity allowed to compete in the young fliers competition? Wouldn't having artificial/magically created wings be automatic grounds for disqualification. Isn't the point of the competition for young pegasi to show their talent? To quote Pinkie Pie It's where all the greatest Pegasus flyers get together and show off their different flying styles! competition. Rarity isn't a pegasus she doesn't have a flying style. Flying isnt a talent for her, but a temporary gift. So why in the world was she not disqualified? There's no way they didn't know she wasn't a pegasus. Her wings in no way looked natural.
  9. What should she have done? Oh I dont know... maybe ask them to leave in in a comedic flashy fashion. Or perhaps demonstrate that she was actually amazing without assaulting them. But no she brags about defeating a giant magical bear, claims to be the best pony in the town and perhaps the "best equine who has ever lived", and challenges them. I will quote Trixie "anything you can do I can do better". So does she? No not even close. Applejack demonstrates expert lasso work and coordination. Trixie distracts Applejack with a rope and hog ties her shoving an apple into her mouth. Rainbow Dash demonstrates extreme flying skills with speed, coordination, and creativity. Trixie again assaults her with magic. Rarity demonstrates artistic prowess in fashion design. Trixie ruins it by turn her hair green which again could be considered a type of assault. Trixie said she could perform any task. When the others take her challenge she assaults them. As immature as anyone would like to claim Rainbow Applejack and Rarity were Trixie is twice as such. This simply could have been a misunderstanding. Most shows these ponies had seen were probably official Ponyville functions. They see an pony from out of town role in and start showing off flashy magic. A pony who is self proclaimed as being Great and Powerful. A pony who isn't charging admission for her "show". It very well may be that Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow had misunderstood what Trixies intention was. Instead of telling them to leave, or stating she was entertaining the masses in a flashy fashion she further instigates the problem. Making claims of extreme feats she had performed, stating that she is superior to everyone, and then challenging everyone. Rarity Applejack and Rainbow Dash thought Trixie was there to boast of her greatness rather than put on a show. You know what? Despite their preemptive claim they were right. Trixie instead of simply demonstrating her proposed greatness or asking them to leave took it upon herself to embarrass the ponies and claim superiority. All for her own satisfaction. After all what else did Trixie get out of it but a feeling of superiority? Not only that but she was content to have servants worshiping her, but even after the whole thing was over she still claims superiority. In the boxer scenario the boxer better wait for the man to throw the first punch. Otherwise he would be quite the immature fool himself. As his friends might say as he is facing charges for seriously injuring the man. "They were words! Nothing more! You cant take a few insults without caving a mans face in!?" In the case of the show Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack believe Trixie is there to simply boast of her greatness. It is Trixie who instigates the challenge and then performs the assault.
  10. I'm actually basing it on how both demonstrated his teachings. In his first demonstration Iron Will had someone walk in Fluttershy's path, there was no context other than a person blocking your path. Fluttershy when being forced into the goat apologizes( a polite proper initial response) at this point Iron Will states not to be sorry, be assertive "never apologize when you can criticize". That's a horrible thing to teach. In that context being assertive means never having to apologize as to do so would mean you are a doormat. We never see anything else taught, but given that he seems to base his teachings off of sound bites it would be logical to conclude he does teach in the same manner demonstrated. As far as all the info in the episode indicates Fluttershy was doing a great job implementing Iron Wills teachings which were bad. Lets take one of his sayings and examine it for a second. "You laugh at me I wrath at you". When would this ever be a proper response? It encourages an impulsive response as well as intimadating and dominating the third party. Iron Will physically handled Pinkie and Rarity a number of times. Picking them up and dropping them. Then tossing Pinkie over a ledge into a puddle of mud. He then makes threats of violence to Fluttershy upon her initial refusal. Everything Iron will himself demonstrated was intimidation and domination not being properly assertive. He used his physical size and strength as well as his loud voice to get his way. Do you really think he wouldn't have busted into to Fluttershy's house had she not come out? I certainly see it as a possibility considering his behavior and his teachings. Based off his behavior and Fluttershy's utilization of his teachings it would seem Iron Will teachings encourage an impulsive response that is used to intimidate or dominate the other pony. Whether that be criticizing other ponies life style or personality or throwing a pony in the mud doesn't matter. What does matter is that its wrong. Both parties are wrong here, the difference is one was taught act that way and realized it was wrong. The only thing Iron Will did right was knocking on the door and keeping his initial promise. One of the things this episode seemed to try to convey was that Iron Will himself was not being properly assertive. Fluttershy was the one who best demonstrated how to be properly assertive in the end. She wasn't overly aggressive she simply said no and stated her point.
  11. I guess that includes assault too, cause that's what she did. I'm pretty she shes in the wrong there no matter what. The undertaker called them out in a showmen type fashion though this is more appropriate for a wrestler as he must be aggressive its part of the act. However what he didnt do is call them up on stage and assault them in some manner. Trixie did do that in her challenges all while not demonstrating the ability to do any of the things she was challenged to.
  12. Well his lessons as a whole really do. If you follow his lessons you will rage at someone for laughing at you for pretty much any reason. You will never apologize and instead criticize the other party. If another party cause you to lose anything you should totally let lose all of your anger upon them. If someone is standing in your way rather than asking them to move you shock demonstrate aggression towards them. Sounds like an impolite jerk to me. Would you really tolerate such behavior? I know I wouldn't. Again I have to restate that all his lessons are about intimidation and domination not just asserting ones self.
  13. Oh and I forgot to mention the super hero episode. This looks great. Many have theorized its a dream sequence but Im not so sure about that given how the ponies are reacting to the situation. Applejack seems not not understand whats happening. They all seem to be adjusting to their new costumes. They all seem confused by the villain as well. I think at the very least its a shared dream. Though perhaps its a little game Discord has set up.
  14. I would agree if not for the way Trixie herself behaved during this episode. Whilst it was the ponies who instigated the situation Trixie did not behave in a proper manner. The proper thing to do would have been politely tell them to enjoy the show or leave or explain that she was a talented show pony performing a show for the entertainment of others. Instead of that Trixie allows a series of challenges in which rather than demonstrate she can perform any of those feats she magically assaults the ponies in some manner. She also proclaims that she is destined to be the greatest equine to ever live. To say that this is a statement of hubris is an huge understatement considering they live in a world with Princess Celestia and Luna. Really it seems Trixie has a kind of superiority complex. She loves to feel better than others and it seems to go beyond a simple stage gimmick. She seems perfectly content to have Snips and Snails as her personal lackeys if a bit annoyed by them. Also boasting about defeating a giant magical bear seems really unnecessary. Whens the last time you saw a stage magician claiming to have strangled a bear with his own two hands. Even in the end when faced with the cold hard truth rather than face it she still claims superiority and runs off. Then there's her actions after this episode. Confronting Twilight would be a normal reaction. However purchasing an artifact of extreme magic to demonstrate your "superior" magical prowess is not. She needs to some how feel like she is superior or amazing in someway. Even in the end she states how great the new Trixie is. In both cases Trixie turned what could have been a simple misunderstanding or discussion into a giant fiasco and further instigated the other ponies.
  15. No but he did teach her that it was the proper thing to do. "You laugh at me I wrath at you" no context is given for proper usage. All of his teachings if followed the way he taught would inevitably lead to becoming a jerk. None of his lessons are about being assertive, but about being intimidating and dominating. Such is reflected in Iron Will's own actions in the end when dealing with Pinkie and Rarity. The only properly assertive thing Iron Will will teach was given to him by Fluttershy. No means no.
  16. Well that doesn't really seem possible. The whole point to a cutie mark is that you receive it when you find your lot in life, the thing you are meant to do. One of the features of this seems to be that they really love what they do and find it fulfilling. Really the whole plight of the Cutie Mark Crusaders seems to confirm this. They focus on the mark itself rather than what it means for a pony's life. They try different things repeatedly in an effort to cross things off a list. A cutie mark is about self discovery and realization. In all of the stories of receiving one has shown this. Fluttershy discovered she had a connection with animals and realized that's what she was good at and wanted to do. Rainbow Discovered her ability for speed and creating the sonic rainboom and realized she loved it. Applejack sought new horizons but found her true place of happiness and belonging was with her family on the farm. That's not to say that they cant learn new things and gain new hobbies and passions but they just wont be the main talent or position in their life. There's also the point that some cutie marks refer to places and people as well as talent like Applejack's cutie mark, and others refer to a specific talent that may be utilized in different ways like Rainbow Dash. Rainbow currently utilizes her speed in managing the weather for ponyville, however she can also utilize it in the Wonderbolts. This means some ponies will change occupations while their talent remains the same. Cutie marks also seem to symbolize the nature and character of the pony. Rainbow Dash got her cutie mark in a demonstration of loyalty to Fluttershy and became the element of loyalty. Pinkie's cutie mark represents her ability to make others smile but also reflects her fun nature. Sometimes a cutie mark shows a connection to events or ponies yet to be such as Twilight's cutie mark. Really cutie marks are pretty complicated and vary in circumstance from pony to pony but they seem irrevocably connected to the very essence of the pony.
  17. Now I'm disappointed. I came here expecting something truly weird, and this is what you deliver!? Poor show, poor show indeed. I didn't even cock and eyebrow...NOT ONE EYEBROW!!! In all seriousness having a crush on a cartoon character is fairly common. I know I had a few when I was younger. Ariel from the Little Mermaid and Crysta from Fern Gully, and Aisha Clan Clan from Outlaw star were three of mine. When it really gets weird is when it gets out of hand. Examples include getting really angry that the character is in a relationship in the show, Claiming that you will eventually marry and have children with said character, or openly posting on random forums about your sexual adventures with said character. Also no its not gay considering you are male and the fictional character is female.
  18. Why is both not an option? Iron will's teachings really seemed to encourage the type of abuse Fluttershy was doing. "Never Apologize when you can criticize" "you laugh at me I wrath at you" "Make me lose Ill blow my fuse" "If someone tries to block show them that you rock" His whole stage demonstration with Fluttershy was pretty much learning how to be a jerk. The proper thing to do if someone if blocking your path is to polity ask for them to step aside. He never gives context to his phrases. Remember to never be sorry for any reason otherwise your a doormat. If someone laughs at you then you should totally let your full anger lose at them. Really all of his phrases are about domination and intimidation rather than being assertive. None of his phrase tells you to think of the emotions of others or the circumstances of situations. It would seem Iron Will just like Fluttershy doesn't understand how to be assertive but he does know how to intimidate people. People probably perceived him as a monster because his behavior just as much as his appearance. Just as Fluttershy perceived herself upon realizing the scope of her actions. Fluttershy followed his lessons and as I said before becoming a jerk seems the inevitable outcome of his lessons. Fluttershy got caught up in the moment. For once in her life she was in control of things around her. For once in her life she wasn't nervous and timid. She was just taking iron wills lessons to their ultimate usage when insulting Rarity and Pinkie Pie, after all "never apologize when you can criticize". However in the end she is responsible for her actions. Though in the end it was Fluttershy who taught Iron Will to be assertive properly. So in the end it was the actions of both parties that caused the sequence of events. However if I had to lean in one direction it would be Iron Will's. When one unknowingly takes a class on assertiveness that actually teaches you how to be a jerk it shouldn't come as a surprise when that person unknowing becomes a jerk.
  19. 1.Okay first off I must say its freaking awesome to see this in animatic form. Its pretty rare that we get to see storyboards from the show. 2. Another episode furthering Scootaloos character dealing with having stunted development in flight possibly incorporating her relationship with Rainbow dash. Im sold Sleepless in Ponyville is one of my favorite episodes. 3. That song is awesome, sooo catchy. The motion of the cart move with the motion of the ponies, Pinkie bouncing with it, the apple imagery, that waterfall reflection scene, and finally downward pan shot with the weather effects. This is going to be absolutely gorgeous when its finished. 4. Holy jumping awesomeness batman!!! I've been wanting this for so long. Nightmare moon baby. I'm thinking its some kind of magical flashback considering Luna doesn't ever really address anything Twilight was saying. Also Luna's line regarding somepony basking in precious light seems to be referencing Celestia. I'm also going to make a prediction saying that that clip was from the first episode of season 4. Now Im super hyped up.
  20. I grew up watching Star Trek so I'm pretty open minded when it comes to discussing the possibility of inter-species romance regardless of what proposed race is being discussed. Really the rule is pretty much that its perfectly fine as long as they are sapient and of proper age to consent to such a relationship. That's pretty much it. Really to be honest despite their equine appearance it would seem far easier for the average human to get into a relationship with an Equestrian than most of the aliens from Star Trek or any of the sci-fi I've read. Really what shows like Star Trek teach is that appearance or even physical compatibility doesn't really matter. Well for sex it would, but love isn't merely about that. Relationships based on real love are far more complex than that. If I truly love someone its not going to matter if they spontaneously turn into a pony, or insect like creature, dragon, or anything else. As long as I could ascertain that they were indeed who I loved I would still love them regardless of the form they took. Of course there would be awkwardness in regards to the physical part of the relationship but in the long run that's not what matters.
  21. There were quite a few fun scenes so its hard to pick off the top of my head. Let see transformer Pinkie Pie was awesome. Pinkie putting her hoof on the portal and Luna's expression as she pushes her away from it. There is the scene where Twilight needs to sign the paper to run for princess. I love how awkward it is with Twilight picking the pen up with her mouth. Pinkies expression stays one of happy expectation throughout the most awkward signing in history. I loved it. Seeing the actual signature was great as well. It was also a pretty clever way of getting sunset shimmer to know Twilight's true nature. Twilight losing to Rainbow Dash really badly and Dash's "Im awesome line".
  22. As many of you know and perhaps experienced some were either displeased or had mixed feelings about the Equestria Girls designs. However when actually seeing them in motion many felt much better about them. I was pondering about why that was and why many were feeling iffy about the designs. Here's what I think and my perspective. better with motion? I was iffy about the designs at first I didn't hate them, but I didn't love them either. However after seeing them in motion I was surprised at how much I liked them. At times they seemed as cute to me as their pony counterparts. I think its largely because of the personality of the characters. I saw it a lot of it in Pinkie Pie, her bouncy fun personality I loved shined through. She looked different but was the same great character. Same with all the others. It answered a question asked of me before. If the cast were not ponies would you still have liked the show? The answer is yes. The pony designs are adorable and a big part of why I like the show but not why I was compelled to keep watching and still do. Its the characters that I love most the core feeling and message of the show the the great way those are presented. Why the mixed feelings? I was thinking about why I was feeling a bit iffy about the designs. With the pony designs we had always had them. We started with them. With the human designs we had had two years or more of numerous, diverse fan designs. Really no matter what we got we probably would have winced a bit. In the reaction I had heard them described as overly sexualized monsters. That's not what I see in design nor in characterization.
  23. Id have to say Mayor Mare for personality but Harshwhinney for design. The Mayor seems quite kind and fun to be around even though she is in charge of the whole town. Mayor Mares design is good very recognizable but not as eye catching. Harshwhinney just looks great that suit she has with the little neckerchief thing. Her hair style is great then there's that awesome annoyed facial expression. All that said I voted for Mayor Mare.
  24. I would say yes. I thought it was a very fun movie. That's the word I think best describes it fun it has a good number of funny scenes. Twilight dealing with her new form is great. So a very Pinkie Pie movie. The animation is pretty spot on as well though I found the background humans looked odd and their movement was very limited compared to the Mane 6.
  25. Im going to have to join in with what seems to be the majority and say Help Twilight Win the Crown. The song is super catchy I had it stuck in my head for a week and now its stuck in there again after thinking about it again. There's also the sequence itself. The dancing was great really showing how mobile these characters can be. There was some awesome character bits too. Pinkie Pie's scenes were cute and funny.
