I am Lunar Fire

I'm not quite sure what to think about this. I mean it's great they added winged Twilight to balance out the wings/not-wings ration, but still. How are we going to call those girls with wings now? It wouldn't make sense to call them pegasi since they are no longer ponies. And I'm a little confused to what they are now. Are they anthros? If they are to be considered as anthros does this mean Hasbro is aiming for the furry community now? And are those tails, or just really long hair? And some of the skin color like the one on Pinkie, AppleJack or Rarity look fine, but wtf is it with Rainbow? I have so much questions and this new set of artwork has let me even more confused than before.

I watched both seasons pretty quick to catch up to Season 3 when I entered the fandom. It took me a few weeks but I somehow just plowed through them and I'm rewatching them often. If you put all three seasons of MLP back-to-back without any pause between them, it will last approximately 23 hours 45 minutes, or almost a day, so I expect to see some 24 hours MLP marathon popping up soon. We are in discussions to prepare one in my local brony group. So you could spend a whole day watching all 3 seasons of MLP.

I sincerely hope you were sarcastic on that last one. Not so much bronies have left the fandom, but those who have made their voice loud and clear, while the rest of us just answer: 'Whatever, Love and Tolerate dude'. The minority is always the loudest because the majority does not need to make their voices heard.

I was watching the Mane 6 panel at Unicon and I heard Tara Strong say something important: "Twilight will stay with her friends. [...] To leave the fandom because she has wings means leaving because of her looks". I think it says a lot about how irrational it is to leave based on this simple fact. Isn't 'Love and Tolerate' the motto of this fandom?

I have to admit falling off my chair when I was it. Litteraly. I was swinging back & forth at the episode I found amazing so far, and seeing her spread her wings wide just made me lose my balance. I believe we say 'shocked'.

I think it was planned from the beginning and obvious that she would become a princess. Take the elements of harmony. She has a tiara, most oftenly associated with royalty. She has always been pushed as the leader of the Mane 6 and her studies on friendship eventually had to lead her somewhere. It was also said by Lauren Faust that all the ponies would realize their dreams. Rainbow Dash would become a Wonderbolt, Rarity a great fashion designer, and Twilight a princess. (I don't remember about the others) Twilight got to her goal first, but expect to see everypony get closer to it as the Season 4 rolls on. We even got a little stint with Dash being recognized as the best of lead ponies at Wonderbolt Academy during Season 3, and it looks like it's just a question of time before she becomes a Wonderbolt.

This will be short. I believe if anypony would leave because Twilight grew a pair (of wings), they should grow a pair (of you-know-what) themselves. Joke aside, I pretty much say to all the butthurt ex-bronies that they're gonna miss on all of the awesomeness of Season 4, and I will be the first one to catch all of it. Or, put differently:

I think almost all of this stuff is rumor and speculations based on vague information given by the author. That's probably also why there is so much. Having so few "facts" at hand, almost anything is possible with Alicorn Twilight. Meghan McCarthy stated that this is a 3-parter, but who tells us the 2 other parts will be S4 opening? Meghan only said we won't see the rest for a while. We know that they have included Alicorn Twilight into writing, but for how long? The first 2 episodes, the first half of the season, or the whole season? I think every Alicorn Twilight thread here has to be taken as pure speculation as we have no concrete information about her. After that you make your own theory about how it will be like. But remember that this is a theory and we might not get some answers until at least 9 months, but it will take over a year to answer all of the questions fans have about this transformation.

This may sound weird but Pinkie might be one of the most powerful ponies in Equestria. She's hiding behind the cover of a party girl but let's face it: She can dart off at incredible speed. She can hop for hours without end. We have seen her defy the laws of gravity and common sense. And that Pinkie sense of hers allow her to know her environment better than anypony. Put her in a fight against anypony else and she will find a way to win. There is positively not a thing that will keep her down. Consider yourself lucky that she is a pacifist or she could have claimed Equestria for herself a long time ago. Oh, and I forgot she has an evil alter ego that can control the minds of inanimate objects. That's a pretty scary power too.

I think it's a good thing because it allows for some change in the series. Stop thinking a minute about "She's going to lose her wings in the first episode" or "She will give up her throne" and think of the new kind of show we could have now. There is one sentence that stayed in my memory since watching the episode: "we're all your students now". This means she a lot to teach to other ponies about friendship, and I think it's just what she will do. Rather than focusing on what Twilight is learning on the subject, we could give more attention to the rest of the Mane 6, plus secondary and background ponies could have a more up-front role. And rather than writing their lessons to Princess Celestia, they're going to write it to Princess Twilight Sparkle So I think Twilight becoming an alicorn is a good thing and that it will be permanant. I think it could give a helping hand to the show, especially with Season 3 not being as good as most of us had expected.

I don't quite get why people think the show will go back after such a drastic change. The idea behind this is that it allows the show to take a new direction, because the same formula over and over again can get boring. Twilight does not need to leave ponyville since becoming a princess. Princess Cadence is ruling over the Crystal Empire and it wouldn't surprise me that Twilight would be allowed to stay in Ponyville. The fact that she is a Princess does not mean there can no longer be any adventures happening. It does change the dynamic of the Mane 6 and the people in Ponyville, but I see it in a positive way rather than just be afraid of change. Princess Celestia says Twilight has a lot to teach about friendship and I think she'll do just that. At the end of an episode, ponies will write her a letter or share with her their discoveries on the magic of friendship. This will just allow for a broader focus on the rest of the Mane 6, secondary characters and maybe even new ponies. So I have to disagree on this one. Princesshood for Twilight opens up a world of possibilites without changing too much in her immediate environment, so I don't think she will lose the wings anytime soon. But this is just my opinion and in the end it's the writers who have the power over what happens to her.

Mane 6: Twilight Sparkle. Definitively the leader and a powerful magician. Side character: Discord. I mean, people talked about Celestia being all-powerful but Discord is one heck of a powerful trickster, over-powered even. Cutie Mark Crusader: Scootaloo is probably the most daring of the CMC. She will bring speed to this team. Stallion: Shining Armor. Let's face it, he has to be a great tacticing, having to train the soldiers of Equestria. His pairing with Twilight makes both of them even better. Background Pony: Doctor Whooves. Because let's face it, he is the only background pony who has fought supernatural forces in his life. His wit will be used at an advantage for the team. Other character: Iron Will: The powerhouse and tank of the team, he will decimate entire batallions at once.

Okay, so you guys think Hasbro is some sort of money-sucking evil comglomerate that generates your favorite pony content? We have to set a couple of things clear: Hasbro is a business. Businesses look to make money. How does Hasbro makes money? With merchandise. In this case, pony merchandise. This is why they let viewers watch the show online for free. Not because the writers or the illustrators are generous people who want to spread love and joy. No, it's because most bronies are online. They know if they want more and more bronies to watch the show, they have to make it available online. The more people get hooked on the show, the more merch they can sell. Not everybody who watches My Little Pony buys Hasbro's merchandise, but it is proportionnal. Now they don't mind a fandom generating around the show and millions of fans creating art and music around it. It does not hurt sales, so they will let it grow. However, Fighting is Magic has the potential to hurt their sales, specifically the sales of the games based around the show as there are very few of them. This is why they sent a cease-and-desist to Mane 6 Development team. They are not an evil-money sucker corporation, just a company trying to protect it's sales. While it may piss off some of us, me included, it is understandable for them to do so.
