    I would most definitively see Discord using his powers like that. His ability to mess with almost anything in his immediate environment is a terrible power that we saw used against the Mane 6 before, but could be used at others means.

    I liked Discord in the first episode not because he was plain mean but because he was michevious and random. We saw some of that in "Keep Calm and Flutter On" but not as much as in the original episodes. I do not hope to see him evil again but I think we could see some of the traits he displayed when he was "evil" for the good of Equestria. The way he can manipulate almost anything and turn it into something completely wacky could end up being used for good, and it would be awesome to see it use those against, for exemple, the changelings.

    Crimson is like blood red, but somehow darker. I don't see it blending really well with Ember's colors. Anyway, I didn't think of Gold when I saw your OC but I have to admit it fits really well with his mane. Now en route to find your cutie mark...

    Apart from a few obvious episodes, I don't see how Discord or flying could have changed anything. Don't forget there is still King Midas in exile and the Changelings, that seemingly got a lot of attention in the comics, that are major threats in Equestria. Nah, the writers said they had no problem writing the new Twilight and I don't see why they would have. She is going to fit in just fine and we'll get the same kind of hoodlums around Ponyville as before.

    Most bronies tend to be interested by Rainbow Dash at first because of her attitude and her colorful mane, before realizing Twilight was the one I could relate to. It was originally the Rainbow Dash episodes that sold me, and I have to admit Wonderbolts Academy was fun because it was somehow nostalgic for me. So I guess those episodes could get your friend really hooked to MLP. Most of them have already been proposed by other bronies here.

    I couldn't vote for one, but Babs Seed is definitively one of my favorites. Also I loved Morning in Ponyville/Life is Equestria but the shortened nature of these songs make it a #2 in my opinion. If Morning in Ponyville would have been completed it would have been my favorite but the ending came too soon.

    Ember is the name that came to mind immediately. Something about a fire in his heart that fuels his desires. "There is an ember in the heart of this kiln, and it's burning hot with love". I don't remember where it comes from but this sentence just popped to mind thinking about your OC. So yeah, ember because of it's relation to fire, that is associated with speed and passion. Speed for obvious reason, and passion from his dreams (The Wonderbolts).

    I personally remember seeing previous generations of the show in french on TV (I can't tell which ones) and not liking it at all. I knew obviously it was a show for little fillies but I remember seeing a few episodes, without however being a fan of it. When I learned there was a fan base around that show I was surprised. How could adults be a fan of a show that really had nothing to interest an older audience. I understood when I watched the new show that it was completely unlike from what I had seen before. I watched the old episodes again and I saw that clear difference between G3 and G4. So, to answer your question: Most bronies here do not like G3 because they were not in the target audience when it aired, and that the show can clearly displays no interest in anypony outside of said audience. I personally don't like it but I understand why you could have and maybe still do.

    I think Dante's Inferno had you killing unbaptised babies in the Limbo section of the game, but I wonder if undead baby demons from another realm count as children.

    I guess The Best Night Ever (e.g. The Grand Galloping Gala) is also a no-go for the same reasons as Magical Mystery Cure. Also just try not to be a Jenovah's Witness about it. If he doesn't like the show after watching a couple episodes just let it go, it doesn't matter. But you do have to introduce him to the forums if he gets hooked on it.

    This has been posted on another topic but it deserves its place here as well. The writers had a panel at Las Pegasus where they discussed Season 4. There is a quick summary on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/mylittlepony/comments/191wgk/highlights_from_the_writers_panel_at_las_pegasus/ Sorry but I guess this is pretty ending the debate as the writers themselves say that she has been included in Season 4 episodes, so her transition will last some amount of time, probably all of S4.

    It seems to confirm that Alicorn Twilight is a permanant change, and that a lot of characters will get the attention they didn't get in S3. Other than that this Q&A is pretty much the writers saying "Everything is going fine".

      Well I for one believe that S4 is going to be great regardless of what happened.

      Also no I don't think Alicorn Twilight was so bad.

    I'm not sure about Scootaloo having a scooter for her cutie mark. One of the obvious reasons she uses her scooter is because she can't fly yet. I'll guess when she becomes a full-winged pegasus that she's going to be a lot like Rainbow Dash.

    It is never been an issue in my opinion. A couple of ponies are upset over seeing the Twilight transformation, and I think it's sad somehow. Because let's face it, the last episode of S3 wasn't perfect. I was rushed, the friendship issue in this one was too easily solved, and everything went too fast. It is obviously not as good as people would expect it to be but it's great nonetheless. It's sad to think people are leaving the fandom because they don't like Princess Twilight. It was bound to happen some day, and if those people just intend to complain about how she shouldn't have been promoted, then let them be. I think the fandom is about much more than a change in one of the mane 6. Ingram saying S4 will be good doesn't do anything to me. I am already pretty confident that it will be, and I don't think he would be talking trash about his employer or his colleagues. It doesn't even add to the anticipation, since it is not an external point of view (e.g. Not from Hasbro).

    Rewatching the Crystal Empire makes things much more clearer now. Celestia and Luna sent Twilight on a "test" in the Crystal Empire in the beginning of S3. They then said that if she passes this test, "We'll know that she is that much closer to being ready" (At 2:30 in The Crystal Empire Part 1). At first most people just didn't pay attention to this scene. What would she be ready for? I dunno... a coronation maybe? I think hints of the finale's events might be scattered all across S3 and that even if we felt the last episode was rushed, maybe it was planned for a long, long time. I think those elements make it much clearer that Alicorn Twilight was not rushed but rather that the events of S3 really subtly leaned towards it, and that a lot of us were just too oblivious. So, if you find other elements in S3 (or even before) that would suggest this just put them here. I'm sure we can find a lot of clues by rewatching the third season all over again.

    I much prefer the Alicorn Twilight I used for my avatar. The face is right and she has a much plainer flowing mane, squarrish and without the stars from Celestia's mane. That's about the best one I have seen yet.

    I would have kept it mostly this way, because the season wasn't as bad as a lot of people say. Even the Spike episodes, althought not my favorites, were good. The only thing I would have done is remove an episode or merge two episodes (Just For Sidekicks/Games Ponies Play) to have a two part season finale. The buildup to the finale would have been like the one to the S1 finale, where the Grand Galloping Gala was mentionned early and oftenly in order to prepare for the last episode. That's what I loved from S1, the fact that the episode were small snippets of everyday life but were clearly headed towards an event (e.g. The Gala). S2 and S3 lacked that, and I sincerely hope they bring back that concept in S4.

    Maybe she's not going to stay in a castle at all. She might as well just revamp her treehouse a bit but I don't think it would be a good idea to rebuild the castle from EverFree forest. The only reason she usually goes to the forest is to see Zecora, and there aren't many threats on her way to her cabin.

    Plot holes. Obviously the series is full of them. Not that I mind... I think at this point it is debatable if he is a unicorn or an alicorn. But the more canon at the moment IMO is Luna talking about Star Swirl as being a unicorn. Now I just have to find said clip and post it here.

    See, there's that unicorns do with other unicorns? Well, they tried doing it with some... well... non-unicorns and hum... I should probably stop there... I think it was announced that Star Swirl was an unicorn when he was mentionned in the show by Luna. I believe she said something along the lines of: "Even a great unicorn like Star Swirl couldn't do this". So sorry on crushing your hopes on this one, it would have been awesome.

    It all depends on Hasbro actually. If they decide to pay for another season there will be another one, but considering how the order for S4 was passed in the beginning of Q1 (January/February), I don't think we'll have the answer to this one anytime soon.
