    gaming Chibi Robo

This series was screwed from the very beginning in North America. By the time the original came out, no one cared about the Gamecube. The first DS one was a Wal-Mart exclusive, the second one never came to the US, along with the New Play Control version of the original. Yes, the game is awesome. I have yet to play the DS game, is it any good?
  2. Probably one of my favorites. Poor Chrysalis. Another reason I love this show is that you can pause at pretty much any moment and end up getting something like the shot above. Yep.
  3. I don't know, have they had a chance to do the "everyone deserves a second chance" moral yet? I think that would be better served for the return of Trixie, maybe both at the same time?

    spike

Yeah, most of the VAs tried out several different roles.

    spike

Cathy Weseluck, the current voice of Spike, voiced Rarity in G3. Kind of funny, huh?
  6. I know it's similar to the Powerpuff Girls in terms of pacing and humor, but McCracken created Powerpuff Girls, not Faust... So yeah, I probably would have enjoyed it.
  7. More like surprised. Then again the show was pretty good, didn't expect people really enjoyed it as much as they did until I say in depth analyzations and stuff. Another one, bit more interesting. First exposure to the fandom? Searching "scootabuse" after seeing a meme with the word in it.
  8. Another one: I really thought all bronies were trolls or enjoyed the show ironically until I found this forum.

    Ask Lyra!

So, how well do you play the lyre without fingers? I'm guessing that's where magic comes in, right?
  10. In my experience, it's just not worth getting mad over. If a person already has a negative opinion about the show or the people who enjoy it, they probably aren't going to have their mind changed.
  11. Man, looking at all of the discussion about this in several different places, I don't know which is worse. The people who think it's a propaganda piece and that good documentaries should/can be unbiased, the people who think it's going to be full of "spaghetti and autism" (actual description) or lack it, or the people who complain that it's not going to capture who "bronies" really are. If a person in the documentary really is so unappealing that you find the fact that you share the same fandom title as them that disheartening and weird, just say you aren't like them. Really, no one in the public eye cares. If this gets into the mainstream media, it will be a brief mention. While I was listening to Tara Strong's interview, I heard her say that bronies come from all types and paraphrasing her "the show has doctors and lawyers that watch it and it also has people who stay inside and do nothing all day watch it." The documentary is bound to capture both of these things.
  12. I figure it could be concluded from my other "confessions", but I really think some people take both hating and liking the show a bit too far. Not everyone, just an obnoxious few.
  13. I would rather her remain in the background, though I think Hasbro as a whole would love it if they could call her Derpy and give her tons of speaking roles. They know they can't, though. The fact that they'll release a Derpy toy for Comicon 2012 that is emblazoned with muffins on the box and has her derped eyes shows that they know the character is popular among the unintended audience, but they know they can't have it be a part of the main audience. Her name, to me, is Ditzy "Derpy Hooves" Doo. Make her what she originally was, a background pony that shows up in weird situations. That's what she does best.
  14. Yeah, even though there has only been one "wave" of blindbags in North America, they changed the codes. I got mine when the embossed number was right under the flap, easy to see, and numbers only up to 24. I'm sure the new guide is around somehwhere.
  15. I originally only started watching the show so I could understand the memes each episode made. I was looking at those long before I even watched an episode.
  16. A spinoff with the hopefully former Cutie Mark Crusaders would be interesting, that or one starring a character they could do a lot with, like Spike.
  17. I think that's what de Lancie thought of it when he brought the idea of it to him, but he realized that it was too entertaining and insightful not to, so more people from the show were brought in as producers.
  18. Or, how about everyone just stops talking about this until it comes out, then we can judge it for what it is worth. We're only making ourselves angry over something that really is just meant to be entertaining.
  19. I am with the guy in that I wish this 200k could be matched by some of the brony charities. If people apparently have so much disposable income that six people can drop 10k on a documentary about something that didn't even exist two years ago, and there are many other people who can raise 60k in one day, why aren't there more to donate to the many charities? Then again, it may be the effect of de Lancie, Faust, and Strong giving it an air of credibility. The Brony Thank You Project only raised 20k in the same amount of time, and I've seen other brony documentary attempts go unfunded.
  20. I kind of agree with the guy. 200K is an awful lot of money for people to pony up (no pun intended) for a documentary.. Even though he doesn't seem to know it wasn't an idea of the "community" to make the documentary. de Lancie's friend wanted to make it and used Kickstarter for its intended purpose. I don't personally push the show down anyone's throat, I treat it as a recommendation of something to watch if the person happens to be into modern cartoons. It's not a show for everyone. If someone insists they won't watch it, I don't make them, and if they don't like it, that's the end of my discussions about it with them. The most hilarious thing is that this guy thinks documentaries aren't biased. They are, how can you cut down hundreds of hours of film down to ninety minutes and not give preference? Even if it isn't intentional, there is bias in everything because human beings are inherently biased. I'll pass judgement when I see it. So much money to be made, though. Anyone ever hear of the Streisand effect? If people had just discussed the show on /co/ when it first came out as they would any other instead of starting trouble over it, no "bronies" would exist. But no, people freaked out and discussion of the show was banned. That just made them more eager to find channels of discussion.
  21. Haven't heard anyone mention that show in years. Anyway, I always thought of her name as Ditzy "Derpy Hooves" Doo.. Technically, isn't calling someone ditzy "offensive" anyway? Hasbro probably would have gotten flak even if she weren't called Derpy.
  22. Hasbro spent years preparing the relaunch of one of their most important franchises, put tons of effort and money into it, and is consistently met with critical acclaim and monetary return from all audiences. I think G4 will be fine for at least a few more years.
  23. Where's the game? Probably not coming along any time soon. If anything, an iOS game, digital distribution is much easier for a niche title like this. Plus, it would probably be a very simple game, considering the target audience.
  24. This was probably going to happen anyway because they don't want to have to work with competitors or split profits. I don't think any Lego-wannabe has been nearly as successful, unless you consider K'Nex a wannabe.
