  1. I had dyed my hair a deep maroon color for BABScon, which accompanied by my naturally curly hair that tends to quickly become a rat's nest, made it look almost like a copy of Pinkie Pie's hair. That lasted a good month or so, from which I got a few compliments and off putting stares from people. However in a way you can say that because of that, I was already half-way there. As for dressing like the character? Well then, all I'd need is some white, sky blue and yellow "girly" clothes and I'd be ready to go!
  2. If MLP directly started to preach things in its stories and morals that I morally object to as what I percieve to be as a decent human being. It's already done that at least once or twice for me over the last four seasons which I account as a fluke of bad writing. However if it began happening more and more then the likelihood of it being a fluke then would begin to wane and the potential for it being diliberate increases. The moment the show starts to really go downhill is the moment I'm out for good and stopping any and all support of it. I support that which I believe in, in that which I can trust. The moment that trust is shattered is the moment I drop it to the wayside and kick it to the curb. No matter how long and how much I invested into it. I still have standards regardless that I will always personally uphold.
  3. Not many to be honest these days due to personal safety reasons, so my options just seem to be limited for me sadly. Before people jump on that, let's just say I conform as much as a butterfly in an ant hill when it comes to most of America and don't want trouble just because of who and what I am. Which could occur due to social stigmas, religious intolerance and even archaic laws and ways of thinking in places. I'm not going to lie to myself just so I can freely go someplace, cause to me that's not freedom. :okiedokielokie: That's tyranny. However I'd love to go back to see the redwoods some day or travel back to the area where I was born in California. Haven't been to those places in many, many years and I'd like to see them again someday.
  4. When it comes to episode reviews, I never go wrong with the MysteriousMrEnter. To me, he's perhaps as fair and balanced as they come on this sort of thing as well entertaining while doing so. Not to mention he reviews and critiques other shows as well these days as well, not just My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. As for general brony/pony analysis, that's usually when I turn towards DrWolf. While he's perhaps been around just a little longer than I have, he's actually made a bit of a name for himself in this fandom and I respect him for that. Love how he brings a calming, unique style to the whole analysis theme and touches upon topics that others really don't too often. I love him for that. Lastly for a mix of the two above with a healthy splash of good placed and timed humor I'll have to go with Brawny Buck. His reviews are intelligent, straight to the point and have got me rolling around laughing my plot off a few times.
  5. This is perhaps something that I have oddly thought about before. Wrapping it up into a quote to make it look nice and tidy. Amber Rays is the ponified version of me and like her she comes from around San Fransisco (San Flanksisco). My personal element is fire and so her element is the same which is reflected in her talent and other abilities, which also reflect the fact that the sun sets in the West as well the West Coast suffers grass fires on occassion. As a local cloud manager she also has the ability to generate and maintain fog and create breezes.
  6. I've only ever been acknolwedged by one what I assume is a local brony/pegasister and it was just so unexpected. Was just there, preparing a drink at a coffee shop when all the sudden out of my right ear I hear a woman say to me, "Pinkie Pie is best pony." Because I had a pin on the side of my bag which was of course Pinkie Pie. If I remember correctly I was starting to wear little bits of pony stuff back then, such as a pin on my bag. Not enough to draw attention I had hoped, but enough to be there. Though I was still all kinds of new to everything so all I remember doing was looking at her with an awkward smile and nodded silently. Some days I feel like I was rude to her. Then again, that's just me. As far as notes, I had recently purchased a 2013 SDCC Vinyl Scratch figurine from someone online and unexpectedly saw this drawn on the back of the package. While not from a local brony, this was nice to see. Especially since it helped cheer me up the day I got it. Additionally the item was also wrapped in a pony t-shirt that coincidently fits me. How randomly awesome is that?!
  7. Think the part here that I can relate to the most is the children here. I know how they will feel when they grow older. One of my parents, while not as openly and blatantly racist towards certain people as the woman in the video in question was, still held a lot of subtle racism both from where she came from and from past experiences. Accompanied by a particular type of denial she had concerning it all, it had caused me for the longest time to grow older with a distrust towards certain individuals of particular skin types while not fully understanding why exactly. What's sad about it is, I'm an adult now and I still have this distrust even though I know better now. All because it was engrained into me through subtle means by a parent at such a young age. Seeing this woman being so blatant about it, I'm afraid for these children. They won't just grow up with my distrust, but they'll grow up with something worse, they'll grow up with a feeling of hatred. They won't know why they have such beliefs either, they just will and that saddens me to no degree. It's a form of brainwashing and this parent doesn't understand that.
  8. I buy them to fulfill several needs. I must own all the Pinkie Pies ever! The more pie, the better! To be honest, I'm actually almost caught up on just the brushables now. Three brushables to go! Woohoo! Same goes for Funko vinyl figures. They were the first toys I bought and since then, I almost have every single one they've produced so far sans chasers and prototypes (the latter will probably never happen anytime soon). If it's cool or worth collecting, I will buy it. This includes artwork, figures, customs, parodies, fakies, interesting store displays/advertisements, ect. Then there's impulse buys, usually bought due to being a super cheap price at the time, a special holiday toy or buying an amount of ponies out of some distress such as a breakup or something. Hey, shopping therapy helps me get my mind off things. That's pretty much it with me.
  9. *walks out of room and fan girl screams* *walks back in* That is so adorable!
  10. I think it looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see it colored when you get around to it hon.
  11. Probably will pop up on Hot Topic for pre-order eventually sometime in the next couple of months. Same thing happened with Applejack and Big "McIntosh" (seriously guys?). They got a quick preview similar to this then weeks passed by and bam, pre-orders were available. Though as for these two... dammit Funko! I'm running out of space for all your figures! Looks like I better make room for two more of the vinyl collectibles. Move over Trixie, Rares is coming in hard.
  12. Once viewed myself as a furry a while back ago, but never was able to find a place within the fandom myself. Always feeling like an outsider looking in, even if I may have already been in. However it wasn't apparent to me. You could've called me a stranger. However do I consider myself a furry today? No I do not. Between my lack of experiences with their fanbase and my closest friend's very negative experiences with their fanbase, I will not call myself a furry. Ever. Simple as that. Though regardless, I will hold no ill feelings towards furries and the like. Cause if that's what they wish to take part in and call themselves, all the more power to them. I feel that it's just not something for me. As for bronies being furries, I see us as more of a sub-species only by definition. Still intercompatible to some degree, but still two completely seperate organisms. Then again, that's just my two bits on that matter. Opinions may and will differ that's totally fine.
  13. I'll just say that regardless of how many times that I've felt let down by the fanbase, at no point in time did I ever seriously imagine creating my own fandom. It's a rediculous notion and solves absolutely nothing since it'd only create more problems due to the innevitability of an us versus them mentality forming amongst both groups. In short, agressors on each side would become anti-"bronies" if that were to occur. I feel it defeats the whole purpose of a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom. We're here to enjoy ponies and treat eachother accordingly based upon their actions towards others within the fandom. We're not here to pick fights with people, well I hope not all of us are at the very least. Even when I have been seriously let down before, there were always those within the fandom who helped me out in my times of serious doubt about the fanbase in general. They were those precious little beacons of light that not only bind us together but keep us moving forward. So I say, let's not show hostility towards our new "Equestrian" counterparts. Let us be those beacons of light towards them and show them that perhaps we aren't all as bad as they think. So we can all enjoy a cartoon show about little colorful ponies together without issue. If push comes to shove, we'll still have eachother. Besides, we'll always outnumber them.
  14. That moment you realize you're missing only a few Pinkie Pies... before you're caught up with them all. Such a satisfying feeling.

  15. Saddles, enough said. To myself anyways they seem like a type of underwear due to serving no reasonable function on a pony, in a world dominated by ponies. Since they've only been shown once to my knowledge for one quick scene in Winter Wrap Up, I always refer to it as that one time Twilight Sparkle got so excited, she ran out in her underwear... at 3am in the morning. Not to mention toys that feature saddles seem a tad dubious at best. Then again, it could just be me. Though Pinkie Pie in a saddle with a short frill at the back... Excuse me for one moment... alright, back. Had to tie down my wings. Another Twilight Sparkle moment of weirdness was in Lesson Zero, when she mentions that the Want It, Need It spell "works everytime!" Between your neglectful use of potent mind controlling magic and saddles, what are you getting at Twilight? Is there something you'd like to confess but the censors wouldn't allow? Hmm? HMMM?! Nah, just playing with ya. We love you! Also I forgot the episode titles, but there was one or two episodes where they played a horse sound that I think was a cover up for a cuss word/phrase. That actually got a laugh out of me. You also can't forget references to more adult movies and games, such as The Big Lebowski, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Patton and the Metal Gear and Splinter Cell franchises to name a few as well older children's titles such as Mary Poppins and even from some classic and nostalgic cartoons that the adults would get straight away. Oh, also before I go, let's just say there's a few more that I probably shouldn't go into detail about. They're there if you know where to look and what to look for. Happy hunting you crazy pony people you! Fun fact: Ponies in the show aren't "strictly herbviores" and are shown fishing and preparing eggs. They also have pets that predomently/strictly consume the meat of other animals such as dogs, cats, alligators and owls.
  16. Simply because it's a ponyfied version of myself. What better represents a person, then themselves?
  17. I'd say that it can cut either way depending on how you think about it. Do I think it's cool that there's ponies in a lot of places, especially on the internet? Certainly! Good ideas tend to spread and spread far, what's more pleasant to look at than a pony? How can you say no to that little adorable, big eyed face? It's part of why Hasbro's doing so well as a company afterall. Because you just can't say no. However I have non-brony friends who while they're okay with me and their family members liking the show and being fans of varying degrees, they just can't stand it all that much when it is everywhere. Heck, they left a coffee shop because a few guys were discussing the show in open public. However they found it funny when I talked to them about how certain things have been ponified or certain companies have used ponies in the past for things. They even used the MyLittleCompanion mod in WoW and got a kick out of /ponies on Google Hangouts. Why is this? You can turn a mod off and you don't have to use the ponies in MLC, you can use other skins as well and you don't have to use /ponies when on Google Hangouts. However they are there and they're not being shoved down your throat. However to them, when people are talking about ponies where they cannot control the volume or they see their favorite non-pony oriented groups become ponified, they start to become scared. It feels like ponies are everywhere and perhaps, they feel as if they have to join the "herd" just so they don't miss out on things they used to like. That is when ponification goes too far. That is when it becomes a problem for me and my friends. When a non-brony has to ponder about becoming a brony, just so they can do certain things they used to enjoy and don't anymore because ponies are everywhere.
  18. This topic came up for me earlier this week and I am just curious as to what all you guys and gals out there in ponyland think about it. When browsing for or looking at fan art do you like to see artwork based upon the show's artistic style or would you like to see more creative takes on everyone's favorite little ponies? Let me know what you all think, cause I'd really like to know.
  19. Here's a funny story. So I had some extra money laying around and so I decided to go to Toys"R"Us and buy some ponies with it. A girl has to have more Pinkie Pie you know. There I was, debating whether or not to buy one of those itty, bitty Funrise plushies of Pinkie. Then all the sudden, I turn my eyes to the main aisle and up are coming about half a dozen men, all around mid-twenties, early thirties. They were coming straight for me. My first thought really was, "Great, bronies..." and it was one of those days I didn't want anyone to bother me and I was standing there holding like a ton of Pinkie Pie merchandise... eeyeah... anyways! So I readied myself for the innevitable... that they were there for... Monster High dolls? Alrighty then! Then I looked down at all my ponies and thought that well the boys can have their Monster High dolls and I can have my Pinkie Pie. Because at the end of the day... I CAN HAVE ALL THE PIE! Oh happy day! Also if you know who is buying all the Pinkie Pie blind bags from every single brand new box of blind bags on the shelves, tell them that I and Rainbow Diamond Trixie Lulamoon said hello... :okiedokielokie:
  20. I am pretty open about a lot of things, so it's kind of hard for me to give up whatever I have left that I hide from the rest of the world around me. Cause a girl has to have some secrets you know. -_- Giving that up for Season 5 spoilers is a tad nonsense to me anyways. Besides... Who doesn't enjoy headcanoning ideas and concepts based upon patterns to come up with potential outcomes that could eventually hit the nail on the head at some point. Spoilers would ruin the fun of overanalyzing a children's show meant to teach little girl's useful (and on occassion, poorly written) morals and entertain their families.
  21. Most expensive singular item: Custom Gothy Applejack Plush - $45 Most expensive item as a box set: MLP:CCG Premiere Booster Box - $125 Most expensive singular brushable: Custom Steampunk Pinkie Pie - $20 Most expensive brushable as a box set: Pinkie Pie Boutique, Pinkie Pie w/G3 Car - $25 Most expensive Equestria Girls doll: EQG: Rainbow Rocks Trixie - $25 Most expensive home decor: Large Lauren Faust (Alicorn) "Create" Wall Scroll - $50 Most expensive article of clothing: Princess Luna Scarf from Welovefine - $25 Most expensive Convention Ticket Bought: BABScon 1-day (Sunday) Pass - $40 Most spent on a single pony: Pinkie Pie - $400+ What can I say, love them Pinkie Pies. Not to mention laying it down, it wouldn't really seem my problem isn't buying expensive goods but in the volume of which I buy. Which is bound to slow down soon anyways since I already have most of the Pinkie Pies I can obtain cheaply... I'm looking at you Europe and Russia. You shall give up your Pinkie Pies eventually... :okiedokielokie: Like that Pinkie Pie styling head which will likely cost me a cool $100+. Most of that is just shipping and exchange rates, yeesh! Stupid country-based exclusives keeping me from my waifu... erm... I mean favorite pony. Yeah, that's the ticket! Favorite pony...
  22. Super cute Scoots you drew there! Love it!
  23. I have only ever had two dreams on this subject and while it did not revolve soley around ponies perse, it did have them in it. First Dream: Second Dream: What that last dream meant beats the heck out of me. However that's just my experience so far. Sorry if it didn't revolve soley around ponies, but my dreams can be pretty out there at times.
  24. Sometimes I wish there was a better selection of women's tees targeted towards the fandom. *sighs*

  25. Went out yesterday to pick up some merch to cheer me up. Didn't find the Twilight tin I wanted sadly, Hot Topic seems to be out of pretty much all their pony stuff. That makes me a sad pony... Anyways, Target and Toys"R"Us had some things that peaked my interest though. It was a very Rarity day snagging a tin and deck box to add to my collection of MLP themed containers. Also picked up a Rainbow Rocks basic doll of Pinkie Pie which I might add is very adorable and makes a fine addition to the Pinkie Pie shrine... I mean shelf. Washed her hair already, but still need to style it at some point outside of the basic flat look. Target didn't have many of the Fash'ems. All they had left was Fluttershy (already have one) and Princess Twilight Sparkle (which I didn't have yet), so I grabbed one up. Yes I looked through the holes and yes I have a keen eye.
