Do you ever get jealous by looking at somebody else's art?
LightningMana replied to Slice0Pie's topic in General Discussion
I appreciate art that's more professional than mine~ But I do sigh relief at times when I feel that I'm the best at what I do~ that there's no one else around in my market that's actually better. And if there is someone that's better or equal or is on the same level but does things differently, I appreciate what they do and respect them~ I really think that's how people should look at things, is be like "this person has more practice than me, but oh well I do my own style and methods that set me apart and different from what others do". And with enough practice, everyone can end up at the same level or close to, but with different styles. Every is the same in quality, difference is everyone's at different levels of experience. And really people shouldn't worry about what other people are doing and if you do, merely draw inspiration from them. -
Least favorite thing about being an artist?
LightningMana replied to Slice0Pie's topic in General Discussion
Hmmmm yeah I'd have to say people who make me feel bad for having my own style that differs from their tastes. "It has to be LEGIT! Can't stray away from simplicity or do your own detail that strays away from fandoms." Um, no, just leave me alone please~ -
Age limit for conventions is never. Peoples' ability to go to a large gathering of events that celebrate a popular fun fandom is not to be discriminated by age. And people can use common sense to look at a person and be like "oh hey this person looks too young I shouldn't engage them in a more than platonic manner". Or simply ask their age if you attempt to get to know them. There's control over whether someone's responsible, or a creep.

general media Do you still buy CDs/DVDs?
LightningMana replied to FadedSkies's topic in Media Discussion
For music I'm addicted to making playlists on YouTube and transferring them to our flatscreen T.V. via Play Station 3. Then I play my favorite music of my dreams throughout periods of the day and it's very soothing and inspirational. For movies/shows, we're strictly DVD's. No cable, nothing. Strictly the discs~ Music CD's, nah.... I can't stand them anymore. I play 1 lullaby CD on our Play Station 3 for my kids and that's it -
Interests before becoming a brony/pegasister?
LightningMana replied to Leonard Smix's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I've been into My Little Ponies my entire life~ so before that fandom, I was.... a baby XD But before FiM, I was a massive gamer. Final Fantasy, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Soul Callibur III were among my favs. I've always been into animes as well, and into the furry fandom off and on since 2007. Other than that, I'm human~ -

A fan definitely helps me sleep at night because I sweat easily and I hate sweating, and become extremely uncomfortable if I'm overly warm in the slightest. I couldn't sleep well at all last night, and now that I've seen this thread I'm beginning to wonder if I had the fan on or not. Like, if I turned the fan off in the middle of the night because I thought I didn't need it anymore, and then I was unable to sleep.... it is possible that I need a white noise to really fall asleep some nights. Starting to wonder~

movies/tv Why is Attack on Titan so popular? (warning contains alot of spoilers)
LightningMana replied to Sazama Ichida's topic in Media Discussion
A lot of unanswered questions are because they'll likely be answered in later seasons. We finished up the first season, and I was like "omg that was freaging epic. But they never got Eren to the basement he needed to return to, to unlock his secret". Then is dawned on me at the time (spring), there's a second season coming out~ and I do believe all unanswered questions will be answered in the later episodes. It's nice to have an intriguing plot that keeps you guessing~ For me, I'm an avid fan because I was really able to get into the characters. Because of how they were portrayed, I got into the emotion and the motions of the story. The whole concept was new and refreshing, and it left me with that amazing feeling of "whoa that was so bad-ass". First few episodes it's like "eh... this is kinda gory and gross... not sure what's going on with all of this" but once there was a turn of events after the first town raid of the Titans and Eren's team had to fight, I was totally clicked into the following the whole series. -

Times your parents have driven you up the wall

Well, I'll say the letter of recommendations are only for your own good~ I used to ask for those all the time back when I worked jobs. It increases your chances of getting to the place you're applying for~ Your mom may be a bit compulsive about getting you to go through it, but it's out of concern of giving you the best for when you step into your future~ I'm grateful my now deceased stepdad did that for me~ advised me now to get jobs, what to say for interviews, and to ask for letters of recommendation when transferring jobs/schools~ -

Most Beautiful Sight You Have Seen
LightningMana replied to Handsome Changeling's topic in General Discussion
An Eclipse, another time there was a fire on the other side of the state and smoke made its way over here, and the sun looked demented. It was like, a blood red orangish solid circle in the sky and the the sky was a murky gray. It was very wicked. Another sight I cherish, is my first and only lunar rainbow sighting. there was a rainbow halo around the moon one night, with lofty clouds streaming behind it. -

I think thoughts are triggered by emotions. Something happens, you "feel", then your mind reflects what's going on~ My minds are words, mostly. I have images when I close my eyes or get lost in thought~ I can try and control my thoughts, if the voice in my head tells me that it would be better to think this way, or something will go in a direction if I go against how I feel. I can do that~ Though my body languages/reactions are more telling of my sacrifices~

Why is there so much insolence!
LightningMana replied to Soldier Surplus's topic in General Discussion
It's a simple equation, really~ People who sit around taking their aggression out on others are unhappy people who are not happy with themselves. Psychologically speaking, people view others the way they view themselves. People see in others, what they see in themselves. All you can really do, is just wish them well and be on your way~ -
What if your gf/bf didn't want to be intimate?

Not a problem~ a mental bond is most important, focus on that. -
