  1. Thankyou for pointing this out Though minky is more expensive than say, fleece, the cost really depends more on the amount of time put into the plush as well as the demand of a specific artist. Ive been making plush full time for about 3 yrs and have gotten making my sleeping Rainbow Dash plushies down to a science but it still takes me 10 1/2 straight hrs to make one with the level of quality I hold myself to. (Crazy tail/mane colors have to be individually cut and appliqued together.. ughhh!) At minimum livable wage ($15/hr X 10.5hrs= $158 + materials+machinery wear and tear+taxes+electricity) she would cost min. $220 without much profit. When I was first starting out it would take me 16+ hrs and Id end up charging LESS than min. wage ($7.50). When you buy from a singular artist, you are helping them to pay for bills, student loans and food. Even though we do charge more than the average person would like to pay for a plush, when you purchase a handmade item, you are buying more than the raw costs and a minimal labor. Youre paying for our stabbed fingers, sore wrists, late nights perfecting patterns and the love we put into our product. <3
  2. Would anyone want a free weekend pass to PonyConNYC in exchange for bringing me lunch ($15 max per) once a day Saturday, Sunday and (maybe) Monday? Its incredibly difficult to get out and get food while vending alone. Chances are good you wouldnt need to bring me anything Monday because I have a panel that day where I will be closing my table for a little while (if I still have any plushies left to sell by that time). Email me at JanellesPlushies@gmail.com if you are interested or have any questions!

  4. If there was a good starter con, I think PonyCon would be it. Smaller sized means less crowds and if its close to you that means no hotel or travel bill! Seems to be a very laid back con from what Ive heard
  5. Does it happen to be Ponycon NYC?! Ill be vending there if you are! If you live in Jersey, you might want to think about PonyCon NYC. There are some amazing people coming this year! Lauren Faust and more: http://ponycon.nyc/guests
  6. Ummm.. there is no possible way you found these in a thrift store for less than $800 each.. That Luna was made by Equestria Plush: http://equestriaplush.deviantart.com/art/Princess-Luna-3-361558698 andshe charges minimum $1200 for her Lunas.. and that derpy was a one-of-a-kind plush made by TweedyFrog: http://little-broy-peep.deviantart.com/art/Derpy-Mailpony-plush-309504370 If you did find these for so cheap.. someone's parents/significant other got mad and donated them~ haha Quality like this costs big time!
  7. There will be more plushies than you can count at any mlp convention Though, be warned, the good custom ones will cost $200+ each!
  8. 7/10 I dont know who this is and she makes me sad but the colors are nice.. <3
  9. I make sleeping Derpy plushies for waaay less than $300 http://janellesplushies.deviantart.com/art/Sleeping-Derpy-Hooves-SOLD-573883082 I started making sleeping ponies bc the custom standing ones are too stiff to cuddle!
  10. Shes amazing! She was probably one of the first plush makers to start making pony plush at a quality level. Definitely inspired me to start making plushies. That "Fausticorn" was actually a gift to Lauren
  11. There are alot of custom crafts people out there! I think pretty much anyone who can sew could make you a flag. Got a crafty grandma or aunt?
