  1. It's going to be a wide range of adults and college kids, so yeah, you will not be alone! A lot of the staff are in that age range as well, so you totally won't be alone.
  2. Generally, the Seattle Bronies I know are freaking awesome guys (and a few gals). I mean, we're going to get people from everywhere going to this con, so it's hard to really know. I went last year though, and people were awesome. They were really good about staying in lines, nobody seemed to get too rowdy, and I have personally found Bronies to be one of the most friendly groups of people I have ever met. Of course, there are always going to be a bad few in the bunch, and at ANY con you go to, there is going to be someone who will steal an unattended item. You seem to be aware of that, so just keep your stuff with you (I assume you're a guy and won't have a purse to watch out for ) and if you have to set it down, keep it in your line of sight. But more often than not, I have had good con experiences, whether at a pony con or an Anime con or even the local comicon. We're all going to Everfree Northwest because of the love of a show of cartoon ponies, so we already have something in common. Many people enjoy the moral values of the show, and even strive to uphold them. Most people are going to a con to have fun, and our mutual liking of MLP and other animated series definitely brings us together, and it means we all already have at least one thing in common. And if you do see something going wrong say something. The staff and security are there to take care of any problems, but it does no good to report something AFTER the convention. It's best not to get involved, but to find a nearby staff member and notify them. I don't know that we had any significant issues last year, but this year we're expecting more attendees, and though we'd like to be, the staff cannot be everywhere at once. And make sure you bring water! Stay hydrated. You're going to be walking around a lot, using a lot of energy, and maybe even expelling sweat. And make sure you eat something before you come. Many Anime con goers like to skip things like breakfast and showers and drinking fluids, and guess what, people have passed out at other cons I've been to. I didn't hear anything like that at Everfree last year, but it is a con so there is always the possibility. Axe or deodorant is not a shower substitute. For everyone's sake, just take a 5 minute shower in the morning, please. That goes for every person at the con, and I hope we'll have a similar guide in the actual con book. So, just be patient in lines, don't shove anyone, all that common courtesy nice-ness and all that jazz.
  3. Oh yeah! Being close to the airport, there are a ton of hotel options. See you at Everfree!
  4. But badges cost more at the door, so buy online if you're going.
  5. Hello there! Welcome to the forums. I'm glad that you'll be making your way to Everfree. I'm guessing you've never been to a convention before, as you are concerned about what you need to know or do. Well, I know it's an obvious question, but you've bought a badge, right? I think that's pretty much all you really need to do. Know that the con is going to be super awesome and fun, and be ready to get your pony on. There will be tons of vendors with awesome pony art, so bring some cash along. In addition, the voice talent charges an autograph fee which helps cover the cost of their appearance at the con. Last year they were $20 per voice actor, but the cost of this year has not been announced. I suspect it will be the same, but I cannot confirm that.
  6. Hooray! Thank you so much! This is a really great piece, she looks beautiful. Thanks a bunch for drawing my Ponysona; your work is great!
  7. I've seen other people quoted in this thread that requested after me. I guess I got skipped, or my OC wasn't good enough. Okay then.
  8. Luna laid there, every breath labored, her sides heaving. She felt so helpless, all banged up. She was a princess, she was supposed to be the hope that kept everypony strong, the leader that everypony looked up to. Yet here she was, lying down on the job. She considered standing up, and shifted slightly to began doing so, but stopped and let out a moan instead. She winced, gritting her teeth, wishing she could force herself to stop feeling pain. Luna grunted, opening her eyes even though the world continued to spin, and struggling to slide herself onto her belly. She felt lightheaded, and quickly laid her head on the ground, though her horn started to glow as her eyes closed again. Luna did her best to heal herself, at the very least closing her wounds, meanwhile ignoring the distress from the others around her. Using magic would sap more of her strength, but in the end it would be more helpful for her to at least be able to walk. She could hear the chaos around her following Iron Wing's disappearance, the cries of devastation and desperation. The uncertainty, the feeling of lostness. It was up to her to pull them together. Just then, her ears perked, as Iron Wing's cry hit her ears. Luna gasped, opening her eyes and forcing herself to her feet. She took a few shaky steps forward, her legs crisscrossing dizzily as she attempted to regain her balance. She would have normally gone to tend to Ice Storm, first and foremost, but her attention seemed to be occupied with Electro and Alex. No matter, even if she had wanted to be there for her friend, there really wasn't time for sitting around and sobbing. Colt looked as if he was unconscious, and Daylight looked just as worried as the rest of them. Everypony besides Colt seemed in well enough condition to travel for a short distance, so perhaps all was not lost yet. Luna moved forward next to the group, looking over the edge at the clouds below. Her vision doubled for a moment, and she swayed precariously near the edge. As she stood, the ground on which her front hooves were placed began to crumble, Luna quickly backed up before she fell face over hooves off the edge. It wasn't safe for any of them to stay here, for multiple reasons. ”I'll go down and retrieve Iron Wing.” Luna's voice sounded a lot faint, and a lot less bold, than she had intended. ”Can you all make it across alright? she wasn't exactly sure HOW they might make it across, but perhaps one of them had an idea.
  9. No, no, I was just offering since you were going to an undersea and therefore lost city. Since I have a sea creature and all. She wouldn't last long in a submarine, you know. Thank you anyway.
  10. Luna felt her magic growing stronger—or perhaps, that of the creature was lessening. She paused, looking down, and noticing the magical beam now penetrating the beast. It began to dissipate, more seams of light growing larger and consuming the creature. Luna would have sighed with relief, if her current form breathed. But her body still smiled with relief at their victory, a little too soon. She turned to survey the state of the others, the monster still in her grasp for the moment. Colt wasn't in much worse of a state than when she'd first took on her spectral form, and everypony else was already down for the count or barely standing. But where was— Luna's eyes went wide as the shadowy extremity went clean through Iron Wing and came out the other side. There was nothing she could do in this form, nothing at all, and her physical body was in worse shape than most others in the group. But if she thought that was the end of it, a last blow before defeat, she was very wrong. Another tendril shot out, squeezing the mare and pulling her ever closer to the edge. Luna could do nothing except watch, she could even cry out for the mare. Then they fell, the creature evaporating just as easily as it had arrived, but not before taking the Pegasus guard with it. Luna struggled to reunite her magic with her own body. Normally it was a precarious and cautious ordeal, but the monster was gone now and she also needed to be able to communicate with the others. Her haste was a big mistake. Will using the spell, she had not felt the pain of her physical body. If she had been knocked out or fainted or otherwise distracted, it would have broken her concentration, and thus led to the same outcome. But she'd strained herself, and began coughing up blood, before vomiting more onto the hoof that she had been using to cover her mouth. She wanted to race to Iron Wing's aid, to fly down and catch her and keep her safe. Her body wouldn't move, though, and instead gave out on her. She fell into a pool of her own blood, the red fluid seeping into her feathers and coat. She glanced in the direction of Ice Storm, her vision blurred. Luna closed her eyes, doing all that she could to remain conscious. She would be dead weight if she fainted, and she knew now that no way would they leave her behind. But, without Iron Wing, how could the group succeed? They had to get her back, they just—Luna tried to calm herself and allow her mind to rest, listening to the voices of everypony around her to hopefully keep her grounded in the real world.
  11. Ah, well I was going by what the OP said: "ALL SLOTS ARE RESERVED UNTIL...LATER...", which is why I offered to jump in later. Oh well, I guess it's no use if they aren't going to be sea ponies anyway.
  12. I have a Hippocamp character in my signature. I wonder if she might be able to join when they find the city. Perhaps you might take a gander at her profile?
  13. Seeing as Colt was more inclined to stare awkwardly rather than answer, Luna turned her attention to Iron Wing. The question surprised her—ponies weren't normally interested in her personal habits. Actually, most ponies weren't interested in her at all. So it took Luna a moment to respond. Her lips moved to form words, but at first she couldn't properly formulate what to say. She blushed a little, embarrassed by her blunder, but she figured she'd better try to spit something out. However, her pause allowed for Colt to come out of his daze and finally answer before she had a chance. She listened, honestly intrigued, but still unsure she understood the origin of his name. If he was trying to copy his father, and his parents thought he looked like a colt... did that make his father a stallion? He didn't look part pony. Perhaps it was merely his adoptive father? Luna wasn't sure how exactly to phrase the question of his parentage, and she certainly didn't want to make things awkward... so she just decided to remain in the dark about it for now. Maybe in time, the answer would reveal itself anyway. But, his explanation had given her time to come up with a suitable answer. ”Well... I always enjoy reading. History is my preference; I'm not much for fiction. There's been a lot to catch up on, you know.” She didn't need to mention the exact reason she was behind in her history. Her past and most recent appearance were no secret to anypony in Equestria. ”I suppose I like to paint, and write, and I do enjoy long walks through the palace gardens—you know, there are so many interesting plants and animals—, erm...” The princess tapped her chin for a moment thoughtfully. ”Of course, I practice magic a lot, and I do have some royal duties that need taking care of, plus there's the need to guard the dream realm.” It seemed that things had diverged away from Luna's personal likes to her more 'professional' ones, in her attempt to come up with something to say. ”Uh, as for music... I suppose anything, really. The industry has just advanced so much, there's a lot of new material to hear, new instruments to try. I do play—but just a little!” She was quick to add the last bit, afraid that somepony might ask her to demonstrate her talents. Sure, there wasn't an instrument in sight, but that didn't stop the princess from being paranoid. She actually played marvelously, though she was tentative to admit it. It was, perhaps, because she had a bit of stage fright, but also because she wasn't one to be a braggart. Being a few thousand years old, most of her talents outweighed that of any normal pony. Luna grasped the icy confection with her magic as Ice Storm got her attention for the moment. She licked it, and then took a hearty bite, smiling and licking her lips with an ”mmmm”. ”Thank you very much, Ice. This is delicious! I guess judging from the cleanliness of your establishment, you really have improved!” Luna winked at the mare. ”But I can't believe you're still worried about that rug. Rugs can be replaced, Ice Storm. Friends can't.” She continued to nibble on her snow cone, wondering what else the group might be doing for the rest of the day.
  14. The first post of an OOC topic should have a link to the Roleplay once it has begun. I believe the same holds true here.
  15. I'm outside waiting for someone to reply, but wasn't Imagination the last of the group to reply? Who is inside, and who is still outside?
  16. So, how's this thing going? Who's turn is it to post next? Imagination's post seemed a bit short, and I'm not sure if it really meshed with what everyone else had previously written. But I'm not in charge, so I won't decide anything.
  17. I think Unicorns are OP as OC's. It's the people that create them that make them so. In the show, they're not super powerful or amazing, they can just manipulate things. Like Rarity, she finds gems and sews dresses and picks up objects occasionally. She's not some super amazing magic user, she's just an everyday pony. Now, I know Twilight has a lot of magic, but magic is her talent. She's like, very unique in her skill. Plus, she didn't have any hobbies or friends, all she did was study. Most other unicorns had friends and other things they did besides practice magic. The thing with Twilight is that magic was a LIFE study. She didn't just use what magic she had naturally, she went above and beyond what most unicorns do.
  18. I thought there used to be a banner at the top of the site and each forum, with ads for things on the site-like, the going to Bronycon announcement and such. Now all I see is an ad from Google. What happened to the site banner?
  19. Well, in case people haven't read comic #6, I'll put a spoiler tag. Before reading the comic, I would have just put the pony in the space helmet as an animation goof. I don't think the people working on the show always take into account that Equestria does not have the same tech level as Earth. Now, as for the comic,
  20. Cartoons have forever been trying to push the envelope for what is and isn't allowed. I mean, if you watch Animaniacs... I rest my case. Not to mention, all the violence in older cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Wile E. Coyote and The Road Runner. It's a forever going thing in cartoons, some creators trying to see how much they can get away with.
  21. Well hey there, welcome to MLP Forums! Where did you get your avatar? It's neat!

Well, let's see here! I've got a cast of colorful ponies... Would you like to pick one, or have me choose instead? They're all in my signature. I can totally pick one, but I thought you might like to pick out somepony you like.
  23. Actually, I feel that Earth ponies DO have magic of their own. However, you are right that they do not have horns for magic, nor wings to let them fly. They are grounded and magic-less... or at least, that's how it seems outwardly. You remember the Hearth's Warming Eve, episode, right? The Earth ponies were needed to grow the food. I mean, if Unicorns and Pegasi could do it, why not just cut out the inferior race? Because they AREN'T inferior. I say that nopony can grow better than an Earth pony. Like, that's just how Earth ponies work, their natural talent is with nature, just as the Pegasi's natural talent is with weather. If you compare any Earth pony farmer to another pony that is a non-Earth pony farmer, the Earth pony will always have a better and healthier and larger crop. I actually think that no pony except Earth ponies can properly buck a fruit tree, like Applejack does. Like, if you aren't an Earth pony, you will never be able to perfect kick a tree and have every piece of fruit fall into the buckets below. It will just never happen. That's Earth pony magic, right there. Also, Earth ponies have strength! You saw how easily the Earth ponies were removing the snow in Winter Wrap Up. And then Twilight tried, a UNICORN, and she couldn't budge the thing without magic. There, Earth pony magic again. They have magic, it's just INNER magic, so it's harder to tell. But if they couldn't pull their weight and provide for pony society, you bet they would be scene as an inferior race in Equestria. But they're not. They're just as good of ponies as Unicorns and Pegasi. Ponies don't have prejudice against the other types, not anymore.
  24. Hi there, welcome to the site! Personally, even though MLP might have had girl stereotypes, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I mean, they make Barbie movies and Strawberry shortcake tv series, and those are totally girly. I think the problem is not with the shows, but with parents. Like, if parents only let their little girl watch Strawberry Shortcake, but not Transformers. Shows have and always will have gender stereotypes. Not ALL shows, mind you, but I don't think there's anything wrong with those that do. I mean, I watched My Little Pony and The Powerpuff Girls when I was little, and I grew up to be a tomboy. I don't think it's really the shows that force the stereotypes on people, everyone is going to follow their own path and have their own likes and dislikes. Watching a girly or boyish show doesn't make a person extra girly or extra boyish, it just means they like that show. Again, I think it's parents that force stereotypes, if they only let their boy or girl watch what they would deem boy or girl geared kids shows.
