S06:E22 - P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View)
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
P.P.O.V Written by the Fox Bros Well when I heard the idea for this I was really interested and thought it had real good potential to be as good as Rarity Investigates, one of my favorite episodes from last season! Well its a good thing the Fox Bros have a good track record with me. Gift of Muad Pie - 4/10 Applejack's Day Off - 4.8/10 Oh shit... So... P.P.O.V. How is it? Well compared to other episodes by the Fox Bros its all but a magnum opus but in my opinion its lukewarm at best. the individual stories were... they were ok. However I have this feeling that maybe the Fox Bros found they have a very hard time writing characters in character. So instead of working on improving their writing... and you know... being able to write better episodes in the future. They found a story that gave them an excuse to write almost every character out of character. I'll admit it was clever and I accepted it, but barely. So he first two acts were ok. Now lets talk about the middle finger fuck you known as act 3, first off. --- Mike- "Ok, Will, so the ship sank... but how do we get these horses out of the ocean?" Wil- "Hey I got an idea! How about they were in knee high water the whole time and not really in the ocean at all?" Mike- "Hmmm, but what about the storm we had them sail though? And the sea monster we decided they would encounter? How could all that happen if they didn't even sail from the dock? And how did the ship sink?" Wil- "Who cares bro! This is a show for stupid kids! It's not like any of them will notice!" Mike- "I thought we just have them maybe get into a raft and get back onto dry land that way I mean they don't have to be too far out." Wil- "Meh, fuck logic, I just wanna get my paycheck and get home. Besides, I already wrote the scene while you were being stupid trying to make things make since." --- I imagine a conversation of that nature took place. And don't tell me it was a buildup to a joke because it wasn't funny and it made the writers look lazy as hell. Also I didn't like the cop out with the sea monster. But I don't even understand how all that could have taken place in knee high water AT THE DOCK!!! SO WHAT THE HELL!?!?!? I didn't like the episode... 5.7/10 But I will give credit to one thing. Titanic is one of my most favorite movies of all time so mad props to whoever decided to put Rarity's in the outfit Rose was wearing in the movie when she boarded the ship. I freaked out with joy when I saw that If only the rest of the episode was as good as that movie. -
I do and I have thought about containing it to my room but not really sure. The mother is very likely to walk in at any time so.. doesn't really pay, also It would be annoying to get dressed and all that if I want to go out of my room for whatever reason.

Well I have been waiting to put my own answer here so now that there are some replies I finally can. But before I do I'm just a little surprised by how aggressive some of the no's here are like a few of ppl have replied like "OH DEAR GOD NO!" or "Oh Celestia no!" I'm not really trying to say anything here. I'm just pointing it out because I find it odd, and as mentioned before it surprised me. I'm also surprised at the fact that there are straight up nudists here, guess I should have expected that, LOL. Anyway my take on this is, I don't often, not because I don't want to but more because I can't. The mother hates it. I actually wish I could try it more often, mainly cause I've kinda gotten curious lately. So I may be inclined to try it if I know I'll be alone all day and no one will be coming over. Something I feel worth noting is I was actually home alone almost all of last year and I kinda wish I would have gotten interested in and tried it back then. By the the time I had started looking it up and wanting to try it there was someone living at home with me so I couldn't.

Harambe is the worst meme of 2016 by far but I will give some dishonorable mentions Just Do it - yeah how about you just FUCK OFF! This meme was so fucking huge in 2015 it made me want to strangle anyone who even said it. It also came very close to ruining Bronycon 2015 for me. Everyone, their dog, their cat, their mom, their dad, their deceased aunt, and their goldfish was just crazy over the just do it meme and all it made me want to do was just jump off a cliff. Pepe- Don't get it, don't know why it's funny, can't recall a time its made me laugh, its just a frog.. thing... I think. Damn Daniel- *sigh* did this actually fucking happen? Yeah it did, Damn Daniel was an abomination of a meme and always will be. I have nothing more to say. Honestly I would rather talk about the memes I like. I hear there's a Nutshack meme making the rounds recently.

I've been seeing this kind of thread on other forums and I was wondering about here. I'm wondering if there is anyone here who likes to be naked for no particular reason. Like do you walk around your home or somewhere else naked or partially clothed often just because you feel more comfortable like that? Or some other reason? Or is there something that you like to do naked that most other ppl would do clothed? Just curious. I know its a bit of a weird question but I mean nothing sexual about it. Nudity may be taboo, yes, but this is not meant to be a sexual thread in anyway as I'm referring to casual nudity. It's more just wondering if anyone here dose it after reading about the subject on some other forum sites.

S06:E21 - Every Little Thing She Does
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aENX1Sf3fgQ So this episode was a filled to the brim with references I'm just going to like... say I liked this episode and stuff. However I kind of knew it would be good being Written by Mike Vogel and stuff. I like Starlight Glimmer and I love how monotone all the mane 5 sounded while hypnotized. This episode was real fun if not a bit predictable at points especially in the second act, however an episode can be predictable but still good. This episode was predictable in the best way. I don't really have much more to say 7.4/10 -
Viva Las Vegas Pegasus Written By Kevin Burke & Chris Wyatt Well I guess I have to give credit to the writer's for having a plot like this that did feel rushed to end when I thought it would be incredibly rushed. I'm not sure what to say about this episode honestly I mean I guess it's okay... There wasn't anything really wrong with it that I can see. I guess it was cool that Flim and Flam returned although I'm just kinda meh on them. Everybody seems to be comparing Gladmane to Donald Trump but It's obvious hes more of a play on Elvis they even say "Gladmane has left the building" after they 'beat' him. I would have preferred a Frank Sinatra'ish pony or some reference to the rat pack but I guess not as many people would get that. I liked it but it just seemed a bit bland for me to say too much. But OMG the visuals in this episode were pure overload, so much on the screen at once, I have to say the animators really earned their wages here. 7.2/10

S06:E19 - The Fault In Our Cutie Marks
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
Oh boy The Fault in our Cutie Marks, yep cause when I think of a new MLP episode I want to be reminded of a book turned movie about cancer patients and intricate relationships. I'm just going to say this I think this episode is complete garbage I also hate the writer of this episode, Ed Valentine, with a burning passion. My hate for this... "writer" comes from the fact that every episode hes wrote I've hated. I'm not going to spend my post insulting the writer however I wonder if anyone has noticed that of the 4 episodes hes written 3 of them have been CMC episodes... I'm not sure what to think of that. I think that by their fourth episode most writers would... you know... branch out and or find a different character to do an episode on. Anyway on with tearing this episode down. Lets take this act by act. In act one we have a griffon who wants a cutie mark. Lets overlook the fact that no Griffon we have seen has had a cutie mark. Now you may say "but the CMC don't know that." You would be right if the CMC were not told by Twilight that it would NOT happen, unfortunately that is what she told them and the CMC know how this will end only 7 minutes in. So act two, what we have here is an issue that we already have the answer to and the CMC already know the answer to trying to be resolved. So we have this pointless wasted scene where we have 7 minutes of an act we already know will bare no fruit. However the song was good, very charming, I like the song. So act 3, oh boy I love the real cliche emotional switch they pulled here.(sarcasm) "I wanted to make you think you did it so you wouldn't be disappointed." So this griffon decided to trick these 3 young fillies into thinking they managed the impossible, lets imagine she actually got away with this, the CMC would have been left thinking they did something they didn't do and I think that's a negative implication. Is anyone aware of the term "learn from losing." I'm pretty sure this is a case where the CMC finding out they didn't succeed would have been more valuable here. But they did find out so that makes it all ok! Sure I guess, but I still don't like the idea behind it. So in the end Gabby is given some plaques and a cutie mark celebration is throw for someone not actually getting a cutie mark... Nope, nothing wrong here, why wouldn't they throw a cutie mark celebration for someone who didn't get a cutie mark? As for gabby I don't have much of an opinion oh her, it's your run of the mill "I'm just a misfit struggling to fit in" episode. Sure Gabby is nice and shes different but the fact that this episode is written off in my mind as completely pointless and spends 22 minutes telling us something we already knew and those who didn't know didn't want to know makes any thoughts I have on her irrelevant. 5.5/10 I'm done -
spoiler Season 6 Finale Plot Revealed
Zantetsuken replied to Golden Star's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
When I heard this was Starlight episode I was very worried. Not because I don't like Starlight because I do like her. It was because I was worried that the idea I had for the finale was not going to be what I had thought it would be and all the setup I thought I was seeing was not actually there. My original idea for the season finale was that Flurry Heart gets foalnapped by the changelings, most likely at night so the mane 6 and possibly Starlight will be tasked with saving her. However they don't know where the Changeling Kingdom is but Thorax dose so he leads them there. The mane 6 do their thing, save the day and live happily ever after. So when I saw this synopsis and saw I was wrong I became so happy you cannot imagine and that's because the synopsis is better than what I expected. If I am to read this correctly apparently the mane 6 have been defeated by this mystery villain and Starlight and the B-team have to save the day. It's an episode a lot of us have wanted to see and I'm overjoyed that its finally happening. I know what I'm about to say here may be construed as controversial but I just want to get this off my chest. I think any person thinking of dismissing this episode because they still view Starlight as the spawn of satin for some reason really just needs to be quiet. The time to hate Starlight has passed, it really has. Everyone hates her because she altered the fate of Equestria and threatened the life of everyone. So did Discord but we all forgave him and love him So did Luna as Nightmare Moon but we forgave her and LOVE her "But Starlight's reason for it all was terrible!" I will agree it was but I don't think we should still hold that against her. It's almost a whole season and we need to accept her and the fact that shes here to stay. I believe this team will be constructed of Starlight, Trixie, Sunburst, Thorax, Ember, Spike and or possibly Gabby As for the villain I think it will obviously be Chrysalis. The word RETURN is a big giveaway that it will be someone we have seen before. So with all those predictions and stuff out of the way I want to end off with my new idea for this episode. I still think Flurry Heart will get foalnapped and the mane 6 will travel to the Changeling Kingdom to save her but instead of winning they lose/get captured by the changelings. Maybe Thorax led the mane 6 to the Changeling Kingdom and comes back with the news of what happened to them which prompts Starlight to from this B team and try to save the day. Or something of that nature. If my prediction turns out to be correct this could be my favorite season finale, mainly for the fact that Queen Chrysalis has a high chance of coming back and shes my favorite villain. The only thing I don't want to happen is they *sigh* reform her. -
Buckball Season Written by Jenifer Skelly so lets get right into it. So this episode was ok Its routine for a first time writer, nothing amazing but nothing terribly wrong either. However I will give criticism to the part before the theme. We start with Applejack practicing her buckball, then Rainbow Dash comes in and claims she can play a game shes never heard of before with one wing tied behind her back. Then the episode starts, I felt like things were moving way too fast here like we go from 0 to 60 in 30 seconds. Maybe my personal preference but its something I felt just moved way too fast, rest of the episode was paced well though. Also I feel I should note the lack of Little Strongheart when we were promised her in this episode............... Sorry, I guess? I really didn't realize or care until the stream I was watching pointed it out after the episode ended. Also I really like Snails in this episode, props to whoever though to use him for this, I always preferred him over Snips. I do really like the moral though, its a situation i found myself in when trying to play competitive TF2 back at the end of 2013/ beginning of 2014. I had fun and liked playing as sniper so I tried out for a steel level competitive team and rage quit a scrim once, it wasn't fun for me after I tried to play it competitively. This wasn't due to any stresses put on me from playing competitive, just the simple fact that I was good, just not good enough to play competitive. It wasn't the exact same scenario but It's similar enough that i can sympathize with the characters here. Decent episode but just decent 7/10 Jenifer made a good first impression with her first episode so she can honestly go either way she could become a bad episode writer (Ed Valentine, Fox Bros) or she could become a good episode writer (Mike Vogel, Joanna Lewis & Kristine Songco) we'll see what happens from here.

I have been wanting to talk about seeing as how I know quite a bit about this group and this forum First off let me give a bit of a history lesson The EQD forums are not new, they are actually a year old. The 'new' EQD forums are just the Friendship is Gaming forums with a new coat of paint. Friendship is Gaming was a sub-forum of EQD before it became the EQD forums, and it was not popular. The user-base mainly consisted of a large group of tightly knit friends from a group known as Pony Fortress 2 (disbanded in 2015) This group of friends migrated to Ponyville.net for a while before moving over to Friendship is Gaming when it was created. How do I know? Well I knew these people and migrated to Ponyville.net along with them, however I lost touch with the group shortly after that and decided to make this place my home as far as forums go. PV.net was simply not active enough for me just didn't do it. Seeing as how I lost touch with the group but remained friends with some of the individuals in it, I caught wind of the creation of FiG very early on, first day created early on. I had the chance to make an account on there and I didn't becuase I simply didn't care enough anymore. So why Am I telling you this? Well I figured if you know my history with this group and forums you can better understand my thoughts on the EQD forums. Now first off let me say I do hope the EQD forums dose well, will you see me make an account on there... No I'm pretty fine on this site. I believe the creation of the EQD forums came from the notion that FiG was not doing as well as it could have and EQD would benefit much more by re-purposing the page into a general forum and so the painting began. It was a good move and yes the site is popular now but that's only because its new, I question it's longevity. When I showed the site to my friend he pointed out a few things. One being that the site doesn't have any real defining traits or an interesting banner. There is nothing that pops out and says EQD forums to him. It's a very cookie cutter design, simple yes, but no defining traits to differentiate it from another forum site except the name. And they could change that, the site is still in it's infancy so only time will tell, but as of now its visual appeal is close to non existent. What I fear will happen is that all the attention EQD will give this forum site is a link to it in the sidebar where the link to FiG was and it will be forgotten within a month or two. And seeing as how they still host Episode discussions on the main site and not on the forums It sort of like the forums are just there to be there. I'm not saying EQD is doing anything wrong but what I am saying is that if they want these forums to be a sucess, they need to get creative, give the people a reason to go there. Yes the fact that it is EQD is a benefit and that has and will draw a fair amount of people in but a name will only get you so far no matter how big you are. The mascot is a step in the right direction but I think it need a bit more to make it unique. If EQD doesn't do this right I think these forums will just turn into a graveyard much like FiG, lots of bodies, very little activity. I hope the EQD forums do well but they need to make a few changes if they want to stand out.

S06:E17 - Dungeons & Discords
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
I'm not going to do any funny introductions or anything cause I just don't care just Dungeons and Discords written by Nick Confalone and my thoughts. Imma just say I don't play DnD so I didn't really care for the premise from the get go. That being said I still had high hopes for this episode because it had potential. I was honestly expecting an episode like Power Ponies... but, ya know... better cause Power Ponies was terrible. Unfortunately we did not get that, what we did get is an episode with 2 acts of nothing and a third act with 4 minutes of something kinda. and a terrible ending. Its boring, boring, boring, Discord acts like a whiny little c*** for the entire episode when he could have just left when he saw what Spike and Big Mac's idea of a 'guys night' was and wasn't interested.. There were parts that made me cringe, especially Spike and Big Mac's little... dance? I honestly have no clue what that was I just hope they never do it again. I'm just annoyed cause Nick is a decent writer... well at least better than this (see The Saddle Row Review). It truly is insane how good this episode could have been if it had focused on the game and not Discord trowing a tantrum over wanting to do something else like a 5 year old. I'm done, Dungeons and Discords 5.5/10 It's trash -
I feel its largely the fault of Niantic themselves for the reason for the decline of Pokemon Go Servers constantly down Them removing the poke steps that didn't work Having all of 3 Pokemon to catch if you live in a rural area Not having any poke stops in rural areas Missing Features (I think) Taking down websites made to make finding Pokemon easier claiming that "It ruins the fun of the game." Even though by taking down websites like that you are effectively stifling the community that has gathered around this game that wants to do things that make it easier to play. You really have no right to do things like that unless you plan to implement the feature yourself, Niantic. I'll say I'm not sure if they have implemented something like that or not but I'm just saying by being so unprepared for the release of this game and them taking down things that essentially act as the building blocks of a community they obviously don't know what it takes to give a game longevity. So I'm blaming Niantic for Pokemon Go's decline. I mean I don't play the game so I might not have any business saying any of this but this is just what I've heard and seen as a casual bystander to the whole Pokemon Go craze.

S06:E16 - The Times They Are A Changeling
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
The Times They Are a Changeling (I don't like that title) Written by the Kevin Burke and Chris Wyatt Normally I would groan and go "Oh great MORE NEW WRITERS coming in and screwing shit up because they don't know how to write this show." Not this time though. These writers are actually decently established with nice credentials to speak of so I had high hopes for them. So lets get into my horrible review and see if they impressed. Well I freaked out when I saw Queen Chrysalis and the hive, in a good way. and I loved the world building so this episode did a lot right. but there were also a few issues as well not many but a few. I would have preferred if Spike stood up for Thorax at the end of act two and act three was spent either getting to know him or him proving to the crystal empire that he was good. I mean, I know Spikes word carries a fair amount of weight but considering what abilities and traits changelings are know for, I would personally be a bit more cautious if I was one of the ponies in the show. It's pretty minor but but its the biggest issue I had with the episode so that's a pretty decent omen. The song was meh, I mean it was okay, nothing great but also nothing terrible. It was nice that Spike got his own solo number finally. Just a nice feels ballad. Lastly, the moral, this episodes moral was terrific. I had the opportunity to re-watch last weeks episode this morning and while the moral was a little obvious but passable I cringed at how robotic the presentation of it was and it felt like an amateur season 1 ending so meh. This weeks moral didn't have that problem it was said once and NOT driven into my skull like a nail being smashed by a hammer and it was presented well. So I really liked this episode but to top this off I want to share the two (technically 3) ideas I have about what this episode can mean. 1. (The not so likely idea) Thorax is actually a spy and maybe one of Chrysalis' best and by him befriending the ponies the changelings now have a hoof in the door for an invasion of the Crystal Empire. Even though its not all that likely I can't completely throw the idea out, we all know how deceptive and sneaky changelings can be. 2. (The more likely idea) Flurry Heart gets foalnapped in the season 6 finale and taken to the changeling hive, the mane 6 and maybe Starlight want to save her but have no idea where the Changeling Kingdom is but Thorax knows so he leads them there and I squee in excitement for what for the events that will hopefully take place in that hive. 3. (The please god no you have such a good setup don't waste these ideas idea) The season 6 finale has nothing to do with changelings and all these episodes that seem to be alluding to something are ultimately pointless... and I will cry and my hatred for Josh Haber will grow even more (cause he is writing the season 6 finale as revealed at SDCC) I liked this episode and it opened up a lot of speculation and I hope this episode acts as a precursor piece to the puzzle we all know as the season 6 finale. 8/10 -

How did you get the idea for your O.C
Zantetsuken replied to IsraelYabuki's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Most OC's I make are for RP's I do All the following OC's were made specifically for RP's Sunny Skies (f) Sunlight (f) Circuit Breaker (f) Mocha White (m) Pyrite Stone (m) However the OC I use to represent myself, Seren Starfall (the pony in my avatar pic at the time of typing this) actually has an interesting story to her conception. I originally created her to be just a generic bland black and white OC and I named her Cortana, cause I still needed a name. However I got this bright horrible idea to write an FoE story and since I had no other OC's to choose from Cortana was chosen as the protagonist. Since this was the way things were going I decided to change her name cause I didn't want readers drawing parallels to Halo with her name so I changed it to Seren Starfall. She had a very generic teal star for a Cutie Mark so I wanted to make her stand out by giving her wild hair and all that. However the whole FoE story idea fell through over time and Seren has been redesigned to be an OC in the normal equestria and no longer FoE's Equestria. The main reason she didn't die with the story is mainly cause she was too established for me to let it happen. The Avatar pic I'm using at the time of typing this is the FoE Seren but I still feel this is an accurate enough representation of her. Not too much of her initial look changed as a result of the redesign aside from me toning down the craziness of her mane a bit. -
gaming Worst parts of your favorite game(s)?
Zantetsuken replied to Kyoshi Frost Wolf's topic in Media Discussion
Zelda Majoras Mask: The Great Bay Temple... no just...just no Zelda Ocarina of Time: I'm pretty sure this goes without saying but... Water Temple, but also the Bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple were annoying as well. Also, as someone else mentioned earlier the Forest Temple is just a nightmare to navigate. Zelda Twilight Princess: The City in the Sky.... I fucking hate it and its one of the worst zelda dungeons I've ever played. It felt way more difficult and slower than it needed to be and I all but stumbled my way through the entire temple with only the faintest idea of where I was actually going. Boss Battle was decent I guess. Zelda Wind Waker: The triforce quest. I don't have to say anything here everyone hates this part of Wind Waker, I do, you should, and even Eiji Aonuma himself (director of Wind Waker) admitted he hates this part of the game. Fallout 3: Vault 87... and everything involved with Vault 87... I hate Vault 87. It was so terrible the first time I played Fallout 3 and even though it wasn't nearly as bad on my second playthrough of the game, cause I actually knew what I was doing that time, It was still very annoying. Also Camp Littlelight or Lamplight Caverns (can't remember the name) was pretty awful too, especially if you don't have the young at heart perk. Banjo-Kazooie: I know what your are thinking and no, on the contrary I think Rusty Bucket bay is my favorite level of the game. No, the worst part of this game isn't really a level, but a feature, and that is how if you die or leave the level all the notes reset and you have to collect them all again. It's also worth NOTING that the notes you collect in the level don't add to your overall score until you get over the amount of notes you had when you died or left the level. Its so tedious and annoying and because of the constant note doors the game is throwing at you it was overall the worst thing about Banjo-Kazooie. I like the second game better cause it fixed this issue and more. Donkey Kong 64: If you have played this game I'm pretty sure you will agree with me when I say that that collecting the Nintendo and Rareware coins is PURE HELL! It is the worst part of the game by a mile and to this day I still can't do it. But lucky for me I have discovered the games wall clipping glitches by watching Swordless Link. By gripping a computer in one of the rooms on the way to K-Rools throne room I have been able to clip under the floor in Hideout Helm, run under the door that required the coins to open it, clip back in bounds in the room with the key, collect the key, restart the game to get out of the room, free K. Lumsy and tell those coins to go fuck themselves. Final Fantasy VIII: The Prison is hands down, the worst part of this game, unless you enjoy having to run up and down 12 floors of copy pasted rooms for the better part of an hour with random enemy encounters. Also the whole reminiscence sequence at Trabia Garden makes me groan in agony evey time I have to sit through it, mainly cause its nothing but 30 solid minutes of dialogue with very little going on. -
Ok so, 28 Pranks Later, or, my preferred Youtube clickbait alternate title for this episodes, Cookie Zombie Prank GONE SEXUAL! GONE WILD! ALMOST DIED! Written by Newcomer, F.M. De Marco. I don't know about anyone else but when I see this name I instantly think of the Spiderman villain, Sandman, whose name is Flint Marco. So did Sandman manage to impress me with his first episode? Well lets find out. Well I'll say right off the bat it was better than last week by a huge margin. Now I will admit, I'am a bit vexed as to why Rainbow's pranks came back in such a massive way after doing next to none for the better part of 5 years. However I'm willing to dismiss that, it's not really an issue and it's me wanting unrealistic consistency. I liked this episode quite a bit, or at least more than I thought I would going in. One of the few things I think this writer will need to do is work on his pacing. I think it took a little long to get to the main plot of the episode, which was the zombies, I mean it was still entertaining but I think he could have done a bit more with it. I'm going to only consider it dumb luck that we managed to avoid rushed ending syndrome here, though I kinda predicted the ending when all the zombies were closing in on RD and we had 2 minutes of episode left. Most else was ok, I just wonder how many times Ball had to say "Gotcha!" During the recording for this episode (Unless she only did it once and they just reused the one time she said it) The moral was kinda meh, I mean I'm pretty sure we did this an earlier episode somewhere. However I guess youtube prank channels can take a page from it. Also I have to say, I can already envision the mountains upon mountains of fanart this episode will spawn ESPECIALLY with an artist training grounds event coming up sooooo yeah. All in all, good episode, Sandman has potential. 7.5/10

S06:E14 - The Cart Before The Ponies
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
Before I start this review I want to show you some other episode scores to make a point Flight To The Finish [Rating 3.2] (please don't attack me on this one, its just my opinion) Three's a Crowd [Rating 5.0] The Cart Before The Ponies The weeks episode was written by Ed Valentine, a writer who, as I showed above, doesn't have the best reputation with me episode wise. I was hoping this episode would finally be the one that would get back my respect for him. so did that happen.... NO! No it didn't, as a matter of fact it cemented him as the worst writer the crew has ever had in my opinion, though the Fox bros are pretty deplorable as well. By your third episode of this show, you should know how the characters work and all that, you no longer have the new show writer excuse to stand behind. Ed has proven to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that he doesn't care or know how to write this show, but why do I dislike this episode? Well let me explain and stop insulting the person behind the curtain. First off this is another episode with the CMC in a competition so basically Flight To The Finish 2.0.... oh good because I LOVE that episode. However, one thing this episode has over FTTF is that we actually kinda got to see the other competitors this time so that's an improvement and actually made the competition feel like LE GASP... A COMPETITION! However the problems here lie with Rarity Applejack and Rainbow Dash. I'm not gonna mince words here, I think all three were all uncharacteristically selfish and stubborn. The conflict felt overly fabricated and paper then, and the reasoning for the actions of the three ponies were poor as well with Applejack's being the least worst. Also I feel like this episode could have presented the moral in a better way. I think that if it was explained better and not overly simplified to "older person doesn't always know best" it could have had more weight and be a position that I actually found myself in when writing my first fanfic. The song was decent though so that's good, Its the first song to come out of a Ed Valentine episode that I actually like. I hated Hearts As Strong As Horses and Glass Of Water (burn me at the stake if you want!) Poorly written, poor characterization, poor presentation, poor conflict, poor idea. 5.3/10 -
S06:E13 - Stranger Than Fan Fiction
Zantetsuken replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
Ok, Stranger Than FanFiction. Written by Mike Vogel (someone who can write) and Josh Haber (someone who can...... ehhhhh kinda write I guess) This episode was great and I loved a lot of it, first off I just want to express how I'm happy that we didn't have another Daring Do episode where Ahuizotl was the villain. Not that Ahuizotl is a bad villain, not at all, as a matter of fact I think hes quite good, but you need to mix it up and I'm glad they did. Now my thoughts on the new character Quibble Pants, first off, stupid AF name, don't know why they chose that, I rarely ever see ponies wearing pants in Equestria. Other than his name, I like him and he represents a very real type of fan that we have all ran into in one fandom or another. He's like one of those people who only likes the first 1 or 2 gens of Pokemon and hates everything from gen 3 on. It is not wrong to have that outlook, I'm sure there are bronies like him who probably dislike most MLPFiM episodes after season 2 or 3 or vice versa, thus I think hes a very relateable character. One thing that was kind of annoying was his reluctance to accept that what was happening was real, espically after the bridge scene, but I'm just willing to chalk that up to being a running joke that overstayed its welcome. Overall thoughts are, I think this episode was a real fun ride. I also liked the moral in the end which basically amounted to 'you don't have to like all of something to be a fan,' I mean yeah its a bit simple and kinda obvious but sometimes those are the best morals. It was a good start to the second half on the season now lets hope they can keep it up. 7.8/10 -
I very much enjoy when people who are so shitty like this finally get exposed. Many animators, community voice actors, and Ex-slaves of hers have all but declared war on her and rightfully so. I guess I'll give my two sense on her seeing as how I find this disgusting. First off I'm not sure why her VOLUNTEER STAFF have to sign this huge 7 page NDA. I feel like this is kind of a big deal especially since these ppl are not getting paid. Secondly, this woman sounds like a down right bitch who doesn't know how to treat staff. I'm sorry if I get a bit heated here but one of the things I hate seeing most is someone who exploits others and doesn't care about their own lives so long as she gets the deadline SHE wants. Also I feel like the quality of her animation reflects the mistreatment of her staff. I saw her newest one and let me tell you, it was not good. The animation looked stilted and choppy in a lot of parts, tons of sound effects were missing, voice acting was sub par by pretty much everyone (even KP herself) but Ellemonty. Well if KP gave her staff more time, they could have make something a bit more high quality. In conclusion, after reading the things I've read If I'am to believe what is said about KP and I do because I've heard rumors like this in the past, I don't think she deserves a dedicated team like shes got. She obviously doesn't know how to treat the people who are willingly lending their, time, talent, and respect, to her. This is something I find particularity infuriating since these people are not getting paid, they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, the least you can give them is your respect. NO, instead KP overworks these poor people, forces and pressures them to meet deadlines. She seems to disregard the fact that they have school and work and generally lives of their own, because all she sees is herself, no one else. I hope KP will lose her staff and realize this as a learning experience. If you push and mistreat your staff too far, you wont have staff to push and mistreat for long. I'm just waiting for someone to make a KP exposed video at this point if one hasn't been made already. This whole KP thing is just downright terrible. At least with the #HorseOrDie music drama a couple days back that was kind of fun to read through and I didn't take it too seriously. The concept of playing only pony music during DJ sets at pony cons is really just too stupid and silly to happen. Alot of big name brony musicians commented on the issue including ppl like SilvaHound and OdysseyEurobeat, the latter of which all but wrote a book on the subject. But it was still fun to read through, this drama just makes me mad and wonder how KP even amassed a team of people to work for her in the first place.

technology What is your favorite Windows startup sound?
Zantetsuken replied to Whirlwind's topic in Media Discussion
I love the Windows 95 startup sound I never used Windows 95, the first OS I remember using is Windows 98... I just really like how cool and retro this one sounds. I believe this was the first Windows OS to have a unique start up sound other than the TA-DA! sound effect. A very nice first impression if I do say so myself, the other startup sounds are OK but I just don't think they have the charm this one has.
