  1. Just saw it...hype is justified. Keep it up my bros, for the pony thrills abound in a cinema near you.
  2. Okay, sorry if I came off as demanding or a jerk or something. Just don't wanna ruin it for anypony. Although the topic is relatively vague, so I doubt it would really spoil anypony's experience anyway.
  3. Oops, sorry dude, just saw the spoiler tag. I saw a couple threads with SPOILERS written big in the title, I didn't know that there was a tag for them. You should be golden then. I just wanted to be on the safe side.
  4. I just got done seeing it. Even though it was a really late showing (9:45-11:30) I was expecting to see more people than just myself and the friend I brought along. There were four other tickets reserved, but they never showed up. Hope that was an outlier. Anyway, the movie itself was great. Even though there are some...jarring new characters, the movie stayed true to the virtues of the show. IGN is on drugs, plot was excellent. Visuals were really amazing, and the ,used was VERY catchy.
  5. Yeah, I feel like this was almost as much Pinkie's movie as it was Twilight's. She had a MAJOR, MAJOR part in it. It managed to keep the Pinkie Pie we know and love while also giving us some really emotional moments. I liked the way they handled her. Also, should probably spoiler this, to be on the safe side. A lot of folks haven't seen it yet.
  6. I'm in the theater right now!!! 4 minutes 'till the movie! SO HYPED!!!

  7. Have you tried googling MLP:The Movie showtimes with you location on? It might not be showing in France, IDK.
  8. I'm sure the incoming flood of bronies giving it good ratings will remedy that situation. I'll probably be among them. Edit: It's up to 62% already and the movie isn't even really out yet. It'll definetly hit 70%, I'm going to guess by the time it's out of theaters it'll be closer to 80%.
  9. If you absolutely can't drive to a theater and you MUST pirate the movie to watch it, I'd recommend that you at least pick up a few bucks worth of pony merchandise (if any is available) to show your support for the franchise. Also, maybe if bronies located in countries that don't get the movie sent in letters to Hasbro, they might give a wider international release if they do another movie? Just a thought. If you're in the United States, Britain, ETC., though, there is no excuse. PLEASE support the movie guys. Besides, aside from a convention going to a late night showing might be the only surefire opportunity to meet other bronies that you ever get. If you're scared of being considered weird, don't be, adults go to see kid's movies all the time. If you're really concerned about being seen, you're probably within an hour's drive time of another theater that's showing it, I used to drive that far to watch movies all the time when I lived in a small town. It's a once in a lifetime experience, enjoy it.
  10. I read that as if it was the last line of the theme song. "Did you know the movie comes out on my birthdaaaaaaaaaaaay" lol Happy Birthday, BTW.
  11. I would end up watching the clicking version for the exact reason that Kyoshi mentions, but I'd probably wait to watch it until after the official release. It would be lame to have all the jokes and surprise moments ruined by not being able to understand the language.
  12. That's really weird. I know a lot of people have been trying to act like Pony is competing with Blade Runner, but families aren't going to see Blade Runner and bronies who want to see both will do exactly that. So I don't really get it. How big are German theaters? If they're a lot smaller than the theaters here in the States, they may be forced to choose between limited showings of Blade Runner and Pony, or widespread showings of Blade Runner and more limited Pony showings. Looks like Germany will get ticket sales from Bronies who don't work during the day...and that's probably it. Ouch.
  13. I would guess that you're going to get the dubbed version over there, Hypno? That might be part of the reason- if the dub isn't that great, cinemas may guess that people won't watch it. Any other popular kids movies in the box office in Germany this weekend? That could also affect it.
  14. Man, everybody else has pony stuff to wear. I got nothing. I have a shirt I refer to as my "Derpy shirt", I'll probably wear that if I can get away with long sleeves. It's a really fuzzy long sleeve collared shirt, I think it's made out of suede (or faux suede). If it's too warm for that, I'll probably either wear my pink Hawaiian print shirt or my purple Darkwing Duck t shirt.
  15. Partially that bit about continuity. Lauren Faust actually wanted Celestia to be a queen, but the execs at Hasbro said that Disney had already created too much of a negative connotation with queens and had her change the title to Princess. Also, a large percentage of MLP's viewership is in the United States, where absolute rule (monarchy) is viewed very negatively.
  16. Uh...how about no. How great and powerful do you think she is?
  17. I think I'd take an entirely different approach. I'd tell Lyra the truth-that she has a problem, and that's she's only going to dig a deeper hole for herself and feel more and more guilty about things until she admits her wrongdoings. I'd still stand by her every step of the way- everypony makes mistakes, and even if the charges ended in jail time, I'd still go visit her if she'd let me. I'd hate to take a chance at ruining our friendship, but Lyra's long term wellbeing would be more important to me than maintaining good graces.
  18. Agreed. I really want another Pinkie & Dashie episode in Season 8. They just work so well together.
  19. I feel like "weak" is definetly a better word for the poorer episodes this year than bad. There really aren't any episodes that I couldn't find a moment to smile in. Honest Apple was close, but I enjoyed Lily Lace and the strawberry pony (don't know her name), so smiles per minute we're still pretty good. Fluttershy Leans In is probably the closest thing to a bad episode this season so far. I wanted to like some of the new ponies in it, but since it paints them as the bad guys in the end, they sort of made it impossible to do so. The only real reason I won't call it bad is because the veterinarian pony was enjoyable and, honestly, I had completely forgotten this episode existed. That may make it sound bad, but truly bad episodes like Filli Vanilli, Applejack's Day Off and 28 Pranks Later stick in my memeory to this day, so any episode that can make me forget about it is just weak. I didn't have a problem with Fame and Misfortune. I guess some parts of it were mean-spirited, but I just found so much humor in it that I found it hard to dislike. Daring Done was,..meh. The setting was really cool, Sphinx was adorable, but plot was just...meh. Also, it potentially made Rainbow look a bit jerkish...the question that would firmly place it in a category would be "would Rainbow have reacted the same way if A.K. actually just wanted to retire from public life?" If the answer is yes, bad episode; if the answer is no, just a weak episode. Hard to Say Anything was actually kind of cute, IMO. Feather Bangs was a bit off-putting (and those background mares can do much better than him) but overall, I enjoyed this one. So, while I'd call all those episodes save Fame and Misfortune weak, I don't know if I can place any of the squarely on the same level as bad as those previously mentioned episodes. I think the writers took a few shots and missed on a few episodes this season, but I don't recall any episodes that actively made me dislike a previously introduced character (mane 6, Starlight, etc.), just a few that lacked substance.
  20. She's going to be adorable. Favorite new character from the movie so far.
