Funny to see a user named DEFENDER hating on something not even a month after joining this site. I'll consider the possibility of this being a satire, but giving it the benefit of the doubt...

What's wrong with that? She likes to be clean? How scandalous?  Onto the list of reasons...

Rarity does indeed have respect, she respects her friends all the time by making them dresses and praising them for their venerable actions. Her egotism and occasional self-centered behavior are just her character flaws and it's almost always played for laughs. Both Sisterhooves Social and Forever Filly showed that Rarity does in fact love Sweetie Belle and is not aware of some of her actions annoying her. Not liking to get dirty...Tacodidra already refuted that well enough, and it just goes back to my refuting of "She is just plain tidy" as a reason to hate a character. Finally, being a drama queen...that not only goes back to my point about character flaws, but it's also a character flaw that Rarity is self-aware of as shown in Lesson Zero. 

I don't think you have to worry about this offending anyone sound of mind, we're all secure in our love of Rarity here. Do know though that we're also secure in our right to respectfully rebut your arguments. 

Excellent piece, perfectly sums up my thoughts. I loved AVGN back in the day and I love Totally Legit Recap but I have gotten so tired of excessive profanity. There's a time and place for it, swearing in every sentence doesn't make you cool or funny, it just makes you look like a dumbass.

Don't compare this fandom to Sweden. Ever.

Regardless, this was a very good essay. I completely agree with what you said about us not having a healthy mindset in clinging to nostalgia, that's a point I've been trying to get across to people in this fandom since like, 2013. And even though I stick to what I've been saying for a decent while about the fandom not dying, I completely agree that Generation 5 is really our only hope for the next wave of pony hype right now. My optimism for it will be cautious. However, even if it were to completely fail, it wouldn't shake my faith that we'd be able to move along.  

You should do one for the 2012 series too.

Sorry about how you feel. I've felt the negative aura on other pony sites too for quite a while and it's just...sad.

I liked a few episodes, but overall I didn't enjoy last Season very much with the exceptions of 'Sleepless in Ponyville' and 'Keep Calm and Flutter On'.

But yeah, after 'Princess Twilight' someone posted a thread about how this worst Season.

 

And a lot of people are dismayed with 'Daring Don't' for a reason that I find really odd.

I really like the holidays, though I totally see legitimate reasons to dislike them. Though Christmas has been pretty meh for me these past two years, I'm confident that it will be good this year.
