not excactly a bee hive, something much worse, a wasps nest. was playing around on a farm, someone had piled up lots of rocks (used to hold down a grass cover for fermentation). i lifted a rock and threw it at the rocks (felt like a rock farmer, that rocks). and out of the pile of rocks, a swarm of wasps appeared. don't think i've ever ran as fast in my life, still one of those bastards stung me...damn backstabber...

i guess we can say this thread can be about food in general. alright, a very simple, yet very common recipe for a sauce base is: melt butter until browning, add equal amount of flour, stir until all brown/nutty in color. then add enough water to make the nutty flour liquid. it may appear dry, and that's the point. transfer it to a bigger pot, add water, 2 cups at first, stir until dissolved. let simmer for a while, stir now and then. if it appears to thick, add more water and stir more. proceed until reaching desired thickness. this sauce can be used as a base for basically most sauces. add onion, garlic, herbs, other spices, milk, cheese, etc (it's also what i use as base for bechamel sauce, but by adding milk (instead of water), and grated cheese and powdered nutmeg). one of the most norwegian cuisines are made with that base. boil up that base for some time, heat meatballs in it. side with steam (or boiled) potatoes and carrots. and a tablespoon jam of lingonberries too.

ok, that does makes some sense. but i still see no reason to not atleast have a sub-forum for other conventions, like a general convention forum. it's just another link to a place where people can discuss the rest, with the same common sense rules applied as the others.

Nope, the title really has little to do with Equestria, just a play on words. So, inspired by that topic on top 5 things people want to do, i noticed that learning to cook was seen often enough. And that's what this thread is about, cooking, food, yummi. So, for starters, i really love food, and i always try and change my recipes to improve the experience. And i'm sure there's otheres here who shares the love for consumables, and/or atleast someone who wants to learn something basic (but still tasty). As for my knowledge about cooking, i've gotten most of my knowledge from my father, who did finish some kind of chef school. I've brought that knowledge with me, and added my own experience and...as much as i hate to brag, i've gotten some very good feedback on my meals, just by experimenting with even simple things. So, let's share recipes, taste experiences, seasonings for the season, helpful tips, make the world tastier again. I'll even add a recipe tomorrow of something i consider the best thing i've made, and quite easy and tasty too.

oh yes, stupid watermelons. should have been a airmelon, or even better, a firemelon. heck, all the elemelons except water.

i do have one real good real life friend, a childhood friend, who can't be replaced by anyone (because i mean it, crazy enough people are hard to come by). but i do kinda prefer internet friends, since it's easier to find friends on the internet who shares your interests. but a real friend doesn't necessarily need to have the excact same views as you, it's enough that they accept that you love something they don't even wanna bother with (like me with my love for MLP). being introvert as i am, it's rather easy to enjoy my own company when it comes to certain interests, and also pretty easy to enjoy something with real life humans (well...it's still a real human behind that text on the internet).

I think that since this forum is rather big within the brony community around the world, there should also be more focus on conventions. the few that are are only for the US, with the exception of BUCK, which appears to be a thing of the past. i think there should be 2 sub-sections for conventions, maybe even 3. one for each major region of the world, US, Europe and Asia. maybe another one for less specific locations (like southern america with colombia, brazil, peru, venezuela, wherever things happens. or maybe US/EU/Asia convention in general). of course we could go to the conventions own sites/forums, but it's kinda hard to keep track of them all.
