  1. Individuals can ruin anything for someone. I'm on the interesting scope of having been vegetarian/pescatarian/omnivorous at various times in my life, in addition to having an interest in hunting and fishing. I have a friend who is a vegan body builder who is ripped, no roids or injections or anything, and I have friends who shoot and kill cute little bunnies over the weekend. Everyone who prescribes to a belief or activity does so on a SCALE... the extreme and the outspoken are bound to bother others. The majority of the veggies I meet (I almost typed veggies I meat, lol) eat the way they do 100% because they don't like what factory farms do. Period. There is no cry of "meat is murder" etc. Then you run into the other type. We all know the other type, lol. On the same hand, I know hunters that respect the animals they kill, and I know hunters that will strap the bloody carcass of whatever they've killed to the hood of their vehicle because they WANT to offend people. I'm not friends with the latter, and most hunters treat them as the scourge of the earth as well because hunting already has enough enemies without stoking the flames. There's always that fool who cries "I don't care what anyone else thinks, I'm right, me me me!!!" In short, you have people in every belief that hate other people in that same sect for their behavior. I've seen it in religion, gaming, sports, etc. There are always those that take it "too far."
  2. Music. Listening to the right kind of music can do wonders.
  3. Couldn't agree more. It's fine to love and accept yourself, but to be in an unhealthy range and to try to force others to accept your condition as normal is not ok. Some people are thicker and within a normal range, some people are thinner and dangerously on edge, but I wish the "accept everyone even if they're a week away from a heart attack" thing would stop. This is actually a strangely timely thread, as someone I know is seeing an unhealthy parent through their sixth heart attack. I hope everything goes fine, but hot dang: things may taste lovely, and sitting on the couch all day may feel amazing, but its just not worth it at the cost of health. All that said, larger people shouldn't be bullied due to their weight, nor made examples of. @SunshineFlow, I heard something about Japan's fat tax. What do you think about that? I personally don't think it would be a good idea if the government regulated gluttony, because as @Jeric said above, gluttony can mean different things for different people. Who would decide what equals gluttony for whom?
  4. Just curious, what is one of your biggest peeves about society?
  5. It's pretty interesting seeing all the varied answers and looking at the numbers based on religion/personal choice/culture. True, not sure if all of India or just parts of it though.
  6. Elk. That is all. I also believe versatile meats are the best though, like chicken (can be eaten fried, stewed, baked, grilled, jerkied, etc).
  7. Disclaimer to say that I've never personally dyed my hair, however I would strongly advise you to go to a professional for something like this. I've seen some pretty bad dye jobs/fried hair, and the quality overall has been much better when I've compared friends who got their hair done professionally vs did it themselves. Part of it probably comes down to the quality of the dye a hair dresser has access to compared to what you'll find in a package on a store shelf, but it's not worth the risk imo! I hope someone with more experience can answer your question more satisfactorily
  8. Morning and dusk. Perhaps it has to do with them typically being quieter periods of the day?
  9. Very interesting, I guess it also had something to do with Buddhism. I think a lot of cultures, especially in the past, had much more veggie-based diets than we do now simply because many people raised their own food and couldn't afford /didn't want to consume too much.
  10. Is it... because of his scarf? I don't think his character seems gay at all, but I've heard people poke fun at the concept of men who wear scarves before. Totally ridiculous, but people will be people I guess.
  11. The stereotypes, mostly. Many people don't seem to realize that a huge population of bronies are "normal" people with "normal" jobs/lives.
  12. WTF is my only thought in response to this question. I almost replied, but everyone else kind of did it instead. Thanks, guys... I'm seeing myself out of this one, lol.
  13. Out of curiosity, what's your favorite food?

    general Autumn?

I should've probably mentioned that I was referring to winter in North Dakota, where wind chills can reach in excess of -50 degrees, the moisture in the air is expected to freeze into sparkling mist, and you may or may not get snowed in Winter is still beautiful, though. Nothing beats a quiet night with the moon shining and the snow falling. You can almost hear the snowflakes brushing the ground, and everything is so muffled and peaceful.. ahhh

    general Autumn?

I love autumn! days of perfect weather, beautiful scenery, good food, and the beginning of cozying up with a warm drink in a warm spot! the falling leaves are hard not to love, especially. .... And then winter comes to tan some hides and dish out the pain.
  16. I'm somehow horrified to know that it was a thing... all those poor souls that experienced the gameplay of it, I pity them!
  17. No one probably even knows this game, as I'm fairly sure that it came out of a cereal box. I think it was for the Playstation... It was called Bubsy. Totally traded a kid some legos for it, kid me 10/10 wouldn't have done it again lol.
  18. League of Legends, although I'll be darned if I didn't enjoy some of the times I had on there. It's not a bad game, the fanbase takes it far too seriously at times and it becomes toxic very quickly. Too difficult to have a good, fair battle without people raging or getting butthurt and ruining the experience for other players.
  19. Oh, definitely I can totally see her getting crazy to some gangster rap, lol.
  20. Not even sure if this is a valid complaint, but the way things are always fully wrapped up in an episode kind of bothers me at times. Almost every argument or issue a character has - no matter how major - seems to get fully resolved with no hard feelings and no catches. One exeption to this that I can think of atm is how Twilight felt about Trixie for the longest. I actually like that it took her longer than an episode to accept Trixie and to give her a chance, and that we got to see her struggle with even opening herself to the possibility of it. It just seemed more realistic to me than everyone shaking hands at the end of the day and calling it good all the time.
  21. There was nothing wrong with the time line on this episode. Yes, detailing Pear Butter and Bright Mac's relationship could've been done much earlier, but nothing was lost by it being done when it was. I personally wanted to see this episode. What would've been lazy, IMO, would be hinting at AJ's parents and their fate and never actually having an episode on them. There are very few, if any, original works these days. Everything is based on or copies something, even if the creator isn't entirely aware of it. According to many, Avatar is just Pocahontas in space and Lion King is just Hamlet with animals, but both have huge followings and are loved by many. I can't speak for romance being unrealistic or not. Unfortunately, the sensationalized romance of Hollywood is often touted as what real life romances should be, with "sparks" and "chemistry" being number 1. However, some of the best relationships I've ever seen required no additional zest. The Cakes aren't main characters, so I don't expect them to be too fleshed out. To me, they are a midlife couple who are very comfortable and loving with one another. Honestly, now that I think of it, they aren't too different from a couple that ran a seafood business around where I used to live, haha! It's fine if you didn't like the episode though. If the reasons you listed broke the episode for you, then no one can tell you you're wrong for that. I just wanted to list the reasons for why the episode worked for me!
  22. I sometimes laugh at inappropriate times during movies or television shows. For instance, there was a scene in a movie where a dude jumped from a helicopter and didn't make it. The beep indicating him falling disappeared amid some rocks, suggesting his instant death, and I immediately cracked up. It didn't help that I was rooting for the other team, but this was obviously meant to be tragic, as the theater was dead silent. My friends all kind of face palmed as I lost it in my seat xD
  23. So your eating habits are all based on taste? Or do you hate the texture of foods like tomatoes? That honesty though! It's cool that you decided to try something new, even if it didn't work out for you. Did you find you felt any different when you tried vegetarian? I do know of a few people who only eat free range/grass fed animals raised by farmers they know, but I understand that this way of eating meat can be both costly and inacessible to some people! Do you work out at all, or do you attribute the weight loss to your diet? When I was vegetarian/pescetarian, my activity levels were the same, but I was a lean, mean machine. I felt "lighter" than I do now that I'm back to being an omnivore, and I honestly kind of miss the feeling! If you don't mind me asking, does not eating meat have to do with a religion for you?
