  1. I remember there was an well known spot near a river called the Dunes where a bunch of college kids liked it as a hang out, and the party goers especially took to it. The waterfront was left seriously trashed on multiple ocassions. Officials finally closed the place down, because they were tired of it being littered with everything under the sun. A year later, after much lamenting of the loss of an awesome hangout spot, the Dunes were repoened and strictly enforced. The amount of litter being thrown around was dang near to zero, and people finally seemed to grasp the concept of "pack out what you pack in." Areas that are already clean seem to stay clean. I had two friends a while back that casually crushed and threw their beer cans along a sandy area where people commonly walked barefoot, and when I spoke up, they were like "lol calm down, the place is already a dump anyway." Why make it worse? I had a rusty fishhook tear through my skirt that same day, which someone left wrapped in line around a nearby tree! My personal peeve is seeing litter on the water or far out into remote natural areas. Like... You hiked 20 miles into the wilderness to leave your Nature Valley granola bar wrapper impaled on a branch? Really?!?
  2. I believe a lot of people realize its simply easier for a much older person to prey upon someone younger than them due to lack of life experience, hence the "someone of that age has no business being with someone that young." Then there's also the whole "when the older person was x amount of years old, their significant other was an infant" thing, which while strange, really has nothing to do with the relationship between two adults. If it works for both people and no manipulation was involved, then its really no one else's business.
  3. When I looked at them, my buddy and I were able to figure out that you likely meant the C7 The crazy part is, I went to buy the parts the night I messaged you, and couldn't find my debit card. Lost out on some sale deals due to it, but hoping to see some items come back on stock in the meanwhile...
  4. 1. Draw objects in/from real life. It's nice to be creative, but it's also nice to have near-muscle memory on the way certain things interact. 2. You should learn to shade lol. 3. It's alright to copy other peoples' work if you're practicing. Also, try new styles!
  5. I think with most instances of "not intended for x audience" the question of why those out of the target group enjoy the product is always a thing. I don't really advertise that I enjoy the show much, but most people just accept it and move on lol.
  6. I appreciate this very much! thanks for the reply!
  7. I shudder to think of what Bojack would do to a Equestria and its people they'd probably have to seal him away! Lol.
  8. If I could live in the pony world and be familiar with it the way Spike is, probably a dragon. The ponies seem to have the most involved communities, while others (dragons, gryphon, yaks, bison) seem to be either a work in progress, more primitive, or with a "everyone for themselves" type attitude. Be interesting to see if the show brings in other species other than the ones they've already shown, however.
  9. Long story short, someone offered to help me build a pc. I'm not a high end gamer, honestly haven't played for a few months, but when I did it was things like League of Legends and a brief stint of WoW. I'd like to be able to play something like Morrowind on at least medium settings, I by no means need top of the line action. I'll mostly be doing simple drawings, managing a few photos, streaming my favorite shows, and casually playing a few games. My budget will be under $500; this is what we came up with. Anyone see any issues? Suggestions? Thanks in advance for anything! Also, thanks to those who sent me pms already regarding this
  10. This question made me laugh, but at the same time, I could see it happening... Uh oh What if this become one of those series that just keeps having to one-up itself with the next "cool" thing or power up?
  11. Only skipped one, not counting the EQ girls ones, and it was Hearth's Warming Eve. I plan to go back and watch it, though.
  12. I can't believe it hasn't been said yet... THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP IN REAL LIFE!
  13. Not sure if this can really be a huge debate, the ponies have been depicted as herbivores in the show (even their cakes and such could arguably be vegan, afterall) and, although it may not carry much weight in Equestria, real equines are hebivorous as well. I believe out of all the ponies, Fluttershy especially wouldn't be keen to try meat. The show itself even tries to get around the aspect; I recall ferrets being given seeds/greenery to eat, the bats enjoying fruit, and the food of choice of dragons (well, Spike at least) seems to be gems.
  14. If you mean racism on this forum, I haven't noticed any, and I think the mods would be able to help you out if you were worried about it or happened to come across it. If you mean regarding the ponies in the show, well, some people may prefer a certain pony type (pegasus, unicorn, pony, alicorn, zebra, mule... etc) over another, but I don't think anyone gets too crazy with that!

  20. If it's something I'm going to be satisfied with afterward, then sure. Cleaning the house thoroughly, scooping horse crap to clean a pen, carrying a pack that weighs as much as a small child to reach a pristine lake up on the mountainside... I'm all for that. If it's something I don't care for, I won't enjoy it
  21. Was at an outdoor event, decided to go for an ill prepared little walk. Sure, all I had was a really big stick that I found on the side of the road, but I was determined to walk the gravel road down to the river I'd seen on the way up even if it took me hours. Well, it did take me hours. About three there and back. I walked down a straight road, hung a left without really being 100% sure of it (impossible to get lost either way), and lost track of time until I reached a dead end with a house that had a huge no trespassing sign up. The house was set back kind of far, and I couldn't see anyone around. The dumber part of me wanted to ask directions to the river, the smarter part of me realized I didn't know who lived way out there and maybe I didn't want anyone to find me so far out without a ride. I turned around to head back. Slapping the air with my jacket to keep the biting insects away, I trudged the dry, hot trip back to our campsite, wishing I'd brought more water. I'd only seen one truck the whole time, that of a park ranger, and it'd been quiet ever since. Suddenly, an older rv came roaring around the bend, and the woman driving slowed down when she saw me and flashed me a cheery wave. I waved back, and spun on my heel as I swore I heard someone beating suriously on the rear door to the rv. The woman was watching me in her rearview mirror the whole time, and I quickly beat a hasty pace up the road. Somehow cougars and blackbears were the least of my troubles on the walk back. I still wonder whether I heard what I really heard, or if my mind just went paranoid on me...
  22. Overpopulation, as others have noted, has very little to do with the amount of space available to humans. It's the resources we consume that is an issue. It would take approximately 10 planet earths for everyone on Earth to live the lifestyle of the average American. Let's not forget that about one third of the earth is comprised of desert, which isn't the most hospitable place ever. Same with mountains. Fitting everyone into one state would require eradicating roads/structures/etc. off the map, and this assertion also depends on most people living on a very small plot of land.. I'm assuming most humans aren't too excited to live a hamster-esque lifestyle. No, I would not get rid of diseases, as great as it sounds. They serve a purpose, and who knows what issues would stem from removing them as a control factor. I see this question as being similar to the "would you eliminate mosquitos if you could?" Sure, it'd be cool to, but we can't simply assume that all the creatures and environmental factors that depend on them would adjust overnight to their dissapearance with no long-term issues.
  23. We all learn and grow as we progress through life. Anyone that has come across older content of theirs, whether that be childhood stories/drawings/etc. or earlier versions of more professional, current work will have moments of thinking about how much they've grown. I simply see moments like this as a sign of how far I've come from the person I was. I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing, although today's world makes it easier than ever to immortalize immature thoughts and work, haha!
  24. This is an interesting thought, the overarching story does seem much more fluid these days.
  25. I do think its interesting how ponies immediately bowing in Luna and Celestia's presence suddenly seemed to end. I don't remember when I noticed, though. This. I even miss seeing characters pop up and control the flow of an episode, like Iron Will the minotaur. The variety was nice. I don't think there's anything wrong with not missing anything. I am also very pleased with the direction the show is going so far, this season kind of redeemed the show for me. I think what I miss most is the feeling of discovery that came with exploring Ponyville, the Crystal Empire, etc. for the first time along with a realistically imperfect main character. I understand that nearly everything has and somewhat loses that discovery phase (I still remember how enchanted I was when first picking up the book and watching the first Harry Potter, for instance), although the best shows and books keep up the fresh content to keep their fans excited and happy. I think that as we become more familiar with the world of MLP, we become a bit more familiar with what to expect, and that's not a bad thing. For me, the show is doing a great job of keeping the scent of fresh cookies wafting, and I'm still following their bread trail while expecting great things. One of the things that charmed me so much with The Perfect Pear was discovering two new characters and their personalities, and being able to fit them into that blank spot in the Apple family I've come to know so well! I didn't think about this til I read your comment, but I seriously do miss how big the older songs were! At the Gala and Winter Wrap Up were two big ones that I remember quite fondly. Upon reading your comment, I think I'll go back and try to finish A Hearth's Warming Tail. I think that Starlight was a little too new for me to be invested, and for whatever reason I couldn't get through the episode. Could've also been the fact it was nowhere near to winter time and I just let it slide, I can't recall!
