  1. The only moment in the show that made me cry so far was Celestia's Ballad in Magical Mystery Cure. In fact for a while every time I listened to that song I would cry. Damn, I love that episode. I think now that people are kind of over Twilight becoming a princess I bet that people should like this episode better, even if they crammed a lot in 22 minutes. Fluttershy yelling at Pinkie and Rarity is one of those, "...woah" scenes... I don't think it had that effect on me at first but I rewatched just that scene and then I rewatched the whole episode and it just makes my heart sink... Fluttershy wanting to lock herself up in her house forever is a strong enough reaction to her own guilt. The end of Secret of my Excess with Spike and Rarity falling and him trying to admit his crush was very cute and touching. I do not like the Sparity ship that the fandom is a fan of but I do enjoy those moments that they have together.
  2. I wouldn't bother dealing with someone who would not listen (ie a rock). But for those who might open one of their ears, this is what I would have to say. First, do we agree that the majority of people in the world do try to be honest and good? They might fail at it a lot, but for the most part they try to be good. If you answered yes, then we can carry on with the discussion. If you said no, then I pity you and hope that your experiences in life change for the better by being surrounded by people who aren't completely selfish. Next question: if the majority of people try to be good, then the chances of the majority of bronies being at least decent people is likely, correct? To anyone who says No, I would ask why. Here are some counter-arguments (or insults, if you prefer) -People who watch MLP are gay -People who watch MLP masturbate to it -People who watch MLP don't have jobs/lives/girlfriends and live in their parents' basements. -People who watch MLP shove the show down people's throats -People who watch MLP are socially awkward outcasts -People who watch MLP are autistic -People who watch MLP don't contribute to society in a positive way/they are man-children There isn't enough time in this thread to counter all of these arguments, but with all of this material it is possible to have hours of discussion.
  3. Good question. I do know that there are people who would like to see her again, myself included. I think though that people were decently satisfied with her appearance and back story in the comics. I found it interesting anyways. For both characters I personally do not expect much more from them but you never know.
  4. We do but those consequences are completely insignificant to the plot of the episode. At worst someone who has never seen Equestria Girls gets confused. At best they don't notice. And many people who have not seen EqG at least know who Flash Sentry is...
  5. Does this mean that I have to renounce being a Catholic in order to remain a Brony? But seriously, maybe there are some bronies who take their love of the show top far and it makes it look like a religion or way of life, but I think that most of us consider the show and fandom an involved hobby, no different from being a huge football fan (someone who watches several games, goes to games in person, plays football either on a team or for fun, and talks about football with friends). No one would call that a religion, but people call nerdy fandoms a religion without batting an eye.
  6. Previous posts on this thread link to Meghan McCarthy's tweet about how EqG is canon but it doesn't affect the actual show. Which basically means that you don't need to see Equestria Girls in order to understand the show, but Equestria Girls did happen and Twilight was affected by it.
  7. Don't really feel like having this debate because at this point I am willing to agree to disagree with Flash haters... all I want to say is that it is not impossible for him to have actual character development. If he continues to be a character in the show and they didn't add anymore personality to him beyond what they did in Equestria Girls then it would be a shame. But like I said already claiming to never watch the show again of he became a regular character seems like jumping the shark.
  8. Big name stores like Target and Walmart sell them. Hot Topic also sells them. You can get a starter deck with foil Rarity at Hot Topic only. :3 Local card game and comic book shops will also have them. Check for local tournaments! The game is fun. Kinda hard to find someone to play with though if you don't have Brony friends. But there are probably meet ups and stuff for MLP.
  9. I think you are exaggerating... I can understand that people felt that Flash was shoehorned into the movie. I really do. I don't 100% agree with that but I see where people are coming from. I am not sure though if Hasbro forced the team to include him. The writers don't like to say that Hasbro ever forced them to do anything. If what everyone claims is Hasbro-forced is true, then shouldn't you be angrier at other aspects of the show? If Flash became a recurring character and the writers were able to develop him as a character rather than making him an automatic romantic relationship then would you still refuse to watch the show even if he turned out to be the most objectively developed male character in the entire series? I dunno, you seem to be jumping the gun. The guy had 10 minutes in a movie (more like 1 minute in his pony version) and a cameo that lasted for another minute and people act like he is homophobic or something. I am serious. People are so OFFENDED by his existence. But why? He hasn't hurt anyone.
  10. Silver Quill!!!! He is very funny and as of late his reviews have been the most balanced. He is honest about flaws in some episodes without sounding too jaded. Digibrony used to appease me a lot but I agree that he has gotten a bit too negative for my taste. I think that he has started to take analyzing episodes too seriously and doesn't let flaws in episodes roll off his back. I respect his opinion to not like an episode and I did pretty much agree with his review of Daring Don't but I dunno, he admitted to possibly being jaded in his review of Pinkie Pride and I appreciated the things he said in that review. I just think that as of late he has forgotten what kind of show he is reviewing. BronyCurious/Tommy Oliver is enjoyable to listen to for his Q&As. But I think like Digi he has also gotten a little jaded. KimiSparkles is hilarious. I don't get around to watching her much but she is enjoyable. I also like Dr. Wolf.
  11. My husband and I are pretty busy so we haven't played the game all that often. Last game that we played I pull out a hand of mostly powerful cards... and then for every faceoff my weak cards would be the one to be flipped. Grrrr...
  12. That 6th one has no rational thought to it at all whatsoever and paints the rest of this post as an excuse to not have romance just because you don't like the idea of Twilight being happy with a character in the show instead of you. Minty summed it up pretty nicely and it would be a shame to not reply to it of you are going to keep posting in this thread. No one is saying that you have to change your mind. Just realize that what may objectively work for the show may not match with your personal biases. Just because you personally would not like to see your waifu taken it doesn't mean that having her be romantically taken by someone in the show is not objectively bad. I want to add my own points to your post as well. My main ones being: 1. Romance that also has friendship is a great thing for kids to see 2. Balancing romance with your friendships is a wonderful lesson for kids to learn. If the little girls who watch this show see Twilight and Flash Sentry have a healthy relationship that does not forget Twilights friends (hint: the writers will keep the mane 6 intact) then girls might learn from that and remember it in their own lives. They can see that their friendships with their best girlfriends should not be forgotten just because a boy is in the picture. They will also see that romance is actually friendship with feelings. People need to know, from an early age, that romantic partners are friends too. They just have some extra benefits. I mean, if I was not friends with my husband, I would not be marries to the guy. I could not be married to someone who did not share a kind of friendship with me. Another thing: going along with how the writers should not bend to the every will of every fan (hint: they don't), just because fans don't want something it doesn't mean that it should not happen. No fans were asking for Twilight to become a princess. At least in the case of Flash Sentry, if they did ever get together, some fans would get something that they want.
  13. Give me 3 rational reasons why you hate it. I don't feel the need to defend my own not-hatred of Flash Sentry. But I am honestly curious if a way to get them to bond together in a real way could actually logically be a bad idea. And you get that character development by what? I feel like by some people's standards the only way that Twilight or anyone else could be with a stallion is if the stallion had been in the beginning, equally developed with the rest of the mane cast, the whole time. Character development can happen while relating with a mane character... granted there are ways that a romantic relationship between them could be written badly. It is not automatic. But it is not impossible.
  14. Like like like like like like Meghan promised us that he wouldn't be a "character" in season 4. But there were rumors of a cameo, as the idea of a cameo wasn't technically ruled out of Meghan's declaration that he wouldn't be a character in season 4. Chances are, though, that the animators threw him in there for shits and giggles. Which I love. For so many reasons. Mainly because him appearing in the series is proof that EqG IS canon and that we can't just pretend that Flash Sentry isn't a real character. It gives opportunity in the show to show male characters and develop them. It gives an opportunity to introduce romance into the show in a reasonable amount of space and not crammed into a 72 minute movie that wasn't even ABOUT romance. I really want to write a scene about Flash Sentry playing the guitar for Twilight and they sing together. As ponies. If ponies can't play the guitar then we can pick a similar instrument. But still, that would be cute. :3
  15. Depends on what you are looking for. If you still want a Rainbow Dash lanyard either Hot Topic or welovefine.com would be able to help you out.
  16. Did you cast a spell on every set of boosters that you buy? Seriously I have a hard time getting regular foil cards or even regular rares that are useful to me. I bought 3 booster packs from Hot Topic the other day and my 3 rares were all Pink. And neither me or my husband use Pink in our decks.
  17. This episode was fantastic. My husband and I were laughing the whole way through. I saw Flash Sentry and went, "Yay!" Makes sense for him to be there, after all he is one of Cadance's royal guards. Perhaps he volunteered to escort her to Ponyville so that he could see Twilight? :3 Discord was just awesome. He never leaves me disappointed. Although I will say that if Discord would have been trolling me like that for the sake of testing our friendship, I would have been more upset that he manipulated me into doing all that, because friends don't test friends, and he wasn't being a very good friend by doing that. But it is Discord and he is still learning about how this "friendship" thing actually works. And he did get sick from the worm at the end, so that was his punishment for being manipulative. I just have issues with people manipulating others to do things for them for whatever reason so for me personally it would have been nice for that to be mentioned out loud. But that is just nitpicking. Not a real issue that I have with the episode. This one is my favorite so far this season.
  18. I am not fond of the fact that he was based of the romantic stu trope in Equestria Girls. I do not mind that he was a romantic interest at all but I do mind that there wasn't any room in the movie to make him a real character from scratch instead of using a trope to make there less of a reason to develop him, you know? But he can start from scratch in the regular series. He doesn't need to be used the same way in the regular series as he was used in the first EqG movie. I would like foe there to be romance but there is room in the regular series for it to be dome right.
  19. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by his appearance in today's episode. Kinda wish that he could have said Hi to Twilight and/or vice versa but there wasn't any room in the plot to do that. Oh well. It was more than the fans were expecting, although I am pretty sure that I heard rumors that he could be a background character. But it does mean that he is an actual character in the series and he could have a speaking role in the series if the writers wanted to do that. We will see what happens. Not getting my hopes up, but still.
  20. From her Twitter: If you think that I have somehow tampered with this image to try to make your life more miserable, then first that is lame, and secondly you can check her Twitter feed for the evidence.
  21. To be fair, having a "bigender" or androgenous while not a bad idea would probably not have very many results, and I think that having any bigender or transgender answers would still need to be separated by sex. It didn't occur to me to add anything like that to the poll because I actually have never really heard of bigender - usually even androgenous people lean a little one way, and transgender people would probably pick the gender that doesn't match the sex they were born with. There was also a None of the Above choice, which until now I couldn't think of what other choices there could be, but decided to have that option there in case I was missing something. Point is that I wanted to keep the poll as simple and easy to answer as possible. Having 3 more answers per nontraditional gender would take up a lot of space. Upon making this poll I wasn't really looking for answers to specific gender groups as, like I said, even transgendered people would probably gravitate towards one gender over another. My knowledge/understanding of trans/bigender is extremely limited so I do apologize if it wasn't easy for you to pick a result. But at the end of the day it is just a poll about a cartoon horse and I think the way you answered will give me the results I am looking for. Thanks for taking part. My goal here is to try and see if more women gravitate toward liking Flash Sentry than men do. I have tons of male votes, which is fantastic. But the lack of female votes makes this poll a tad bit inconclusive. If any of you know any ladies on the forum... point them this direction... thanks
  22. Wtf is wrong with you. It's just a poll about a cartoon horse. People are allowed to have their opinions and people are allowed to make posts and polls about it. It doesn't matter how long an issue has been around. If people want to talk about it then people will, but if they won't then this thread will die. I don't care. I just brought it back up again because people seem to be talking about him in other threads. If you don't like seeing people talk about Flash Sentry, then you can kindly ignore the Equestria Girls subforum. No one is making you read this.
  23. Pretty sure that Meghan said that EqG was canon (she said that the events of EqG did happen). She said that it happened but what happened doesn't directly affect season 4.
  24. Hey everyone, I want to revive my thread because I think there are some new people engaging in the Equestria Girls discussions who might be interested in voting in this poll. Equestria Girls is pretty old news but I guess people are still interested. I know that I am still interested in the Flash Sentry discussion. By the way... refusing to call Flash by his real name is stupid. Seriously. It is like disliking Applejack and refusing to call her Applejack. It is pointless.
  25. Actually I am pretty sure that Meghan said that Equestria Girls did happen, but that it is a separate event from the rest of the show and doesn't affect the show currently in any way. Meaning that you do not need to see Equestria Girls in order to see Season 4. I do not have the Twitter quote on hand to prove that she said this, though. If anyone has it, it would he appreciated to have it. Thanks.
