If you had to change your name?

Raphael, after my favorite TMNT. His personality is one which I can relate to many times, and I do dislike my current name to be honest. -
Sonic The Hedgehog: The Movie Anime Review 1994 ADV Two Episodes back to back Action/Comedy/OAV VHS/DVD ADV released the Sonic OAV in an era when Sonic the Hedgehog's popularity has peaked during the mid-90s with the Sega Genesis/Megadrive 16 Bit titles and the cult classic Sonic CD which the OAV is loosely adapted from. There has already been two american cartoon shows shown in the US, Adventures of Sonic the HEdgehog which aired daily and Sonic the Hedgehog, which was shown every Saturday. While Adventures received a lukewarm welcome by fans, the Saturday Morning adaptation (SatAM as dubbed by said fans) was the most memorable adaptation which has inspired even a comic book series. As for the AOV, just like Sonic CD, it came and went by, with only a handful of its fans taking notice in a time when the Internet was yet to be mainstream and so was Anime in America. It did indeed gather a cult following, which some stating it has been much better Anime adaptation than even the most current incarnation Sonic X could ever hope to be. The story opens with a glimpse of Hyper Metal Sonic, whose design is that of Sonic CD's Metal Sonic and one character that has become a prominent threat in the current Sonic series. After the intro is set, we catch Sonic and Tails enjoying a summer holiday on the Land of the Sky, which floats above on what is known as the Land of Darkness, both worlds within the same planet known as Planet Freedom. When an emisary of the President comes to ask for hep, Sonic and Tails fly on their biplane to the President's castle, where Robotnik awaits with an ambush. Before Sonic is ready to spinball him out of the way, Robotnik casually nabs the President's daughter Sara (who resembles an Anime catgirl), advising him not to do anything foolish. Robotnik then explains that he has been forced out of his lair, Robotropolis by a new evil entity known as Metal Robotnik, and that has turned his robot generator out of control, compromising the planet's safety. While Sonic doesn't entirely buy into this story, he agrees to investigate as Sara's request and a promise of marrying him if he does so. Sonic and Tails crash land on the Land of Darkness, and travel to a desolated city resembling New York in ruins, with no explanation of what said place is exactly. A curious revelation that Tails is deeply affraid of lightning resurfaces as Sonic confronts Metal Robotnik for the first time. Just when Metal Robotnik is about to get the upper hand, Knuclkes makes his entrance and aids Sonic to destroy him, paving the way to Robotropolis. After shutting down the robot generator, Sonic becomes trapped within an energy field and Metal Robotnik emerges again, albeit damaged. Tails mentions the possibility of being a ghost as it crumbles, revealing Robotnik and Sara coming out of the rubble. Robotnik explains that it was all a ruse and let Sonic believe he was about to rescue the planet with the real reason being that he needed his DNA coding to awaken Hyper Metal Sonic, who comes alive and confronts Sonic in a deadly match outside Robotropolis. Sonic loses and is sent back down the Land of Darkness while Robotnk escapes with Sara taking her to the polar ice cap which is in danger of being destroyed, taking the Land of the Sky along with it. While Knuckles and Tails repair the Biplane, they get an urgent message from the President asking for Sonic's help, although at the time they don't know where he is. Tails configures a locator, zoning on Sonic's presence and finds him, then takes him and Knucles to the ice caps to confront both Robotnik and Hyper Metal Sonic one final time. Sonic eventually defeats Hyper Metal Sonic, and tries to save him before it slides off into a crater filled with lava. Metal Sonic refuses said help as he tells Sonic there is only one real Sonic, and willingly lets himself be destroyed by the lava below. The OAV ends with Sonic being chased by the rest of the cast, including Robotnik, before the credits roll. Although Jaleel White did not voiced Sonic in the English dub of the OAV, the VA used has his own charm for the hog with attitude, and his personality is quite similar to the one from the SatAM version, Tails and Knuckles each have their unusual voices, but not in a negative way. Many elements which are similar with SatAM include Sonic living in his own planet, but instead of Mobius its called Freedom, which is the theme used in SatAM. Although the earth-like city found in the OAV may hint that it could be Earth itself, the two episode series never admits nor denies said assumption. Robotnik himself has his own wacky megolomaniac charm, not unlike the version in Adventures of and a lot more likeable than in Sonic X as Dr. Eggman. The one character that is missing and could incorporate into a fauthful Sonic CD adaptation would be Amy Rose, who is also not mentioned and it seems to have Sara in her stead. There has been some versions of the OAV where it has been censored. In the original version Sonic seems to be flipping off Metal Robotnik in a scene while in the second episode Tails accidentally gropes Sara after falling from his Biplane destroyed by Robotnik. Sara however, doesn't seem to notice or even mind at this. Sara herself is much too forgettable as the girl in love of the hero in the series. She is personality wise no different than Amy Rose in Sonic X, save that she doesn't necesarily use a piko hammer to deal with Hyper Metal Sonic at some point. All in all a unique entrance to the Sonic animated series as a spinoff that could be considered a paralel world sort of thing, one much more enjoyable than what Sonic Underground ever was. It seems that the two OAV parter might've been in fact a pilot of sorts, and probably Sonic Team was to produce more. However with no word from said company or even ADV which released it in the US, this has to come seen as a try out to see if fans would welcome it into the Anime mainstream. Would this then be a prototype to what Sonic X eventually became? Not sure in the least, but the OAV is much enjoyable than X in all aspects. B

I hope the fact this is a video doesn't mean it has to be moved elsewhere since it is about fanart which I previewed on my channel before I had a scanner to show it all online properly. There are a couple drawings which I haven't been able to scan because I lost that particular sketchbook (The one with Pinkie Pie and Vinyl Scratch). Hope I do find it someday. http://youtu.be/w-iyVe67tLs

Photo finish and Twilight sparkles cutie marks?
Trixie the Greatest replied to Solar Wind's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
It has been confirmed by someone that Photo Finish's template is actually Twilight Sparkle's. Therefore why when you see some scenes where her skirt almost reveals her mark it has the same pattern. I believe the wiki on the show also stated the same thing but I have to look at it again to make sure.- 22 replies

I don't think that should be the case being that they can pretty much personify anyone they choose, having their own would impede them to act as the character they are disguising as. Queen Chrysalis was able to keep her own since she is more sentient than her troops, and I believe that they are pretty much just foot soldiers that do her bidding as ants and bees do about their Queen.

There has been many speculations and artist renditions of how the CMC probably would look like when they grow up, complete with their Marks in tangem. So far, the most that gets Applebloom is that she could become a Carpenter, as odd of achoice as it seems, and Sweetie Belle a singer, with musical notes prominent in any kind of mark created. Scootaloo is stil la wild card, but some choose that her mark would probably be similar to Rainbow Dash's in one way or another: Seems Bloom may also get a hat of her own in some renditions: And a rare instance that point to their on stage performance when they were younger: Will Scootaloo be able to fly? Since Babs Seed was added to the CMC later on, it makes sens to also show what she may be able to be like when she gets mark and as an grown up. Here is another rendition with Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon as a bonus: So what is anyone else's expectations when they do indeed reach adulthood?

Steel Angel Kurumi Anime Review Genre: Action/Harem/Romantic Comedy Episodes: 24 Network: WOWOW Liscensed by: Madman Entertainment English Network: Anime Network At the beginning of each episode a character from the series amply reminds its viewers that they should watch the Anime from a safe distance and turn the brightness down for safety measure. Whether this is a prank or Steel Angel Kurumi actually cares about its viewers getting seizures due to the high level of color that the seires are drawn, its up to the viewer. In a time period in Japan, circa 1930s, a scientist creates a trio of mechanical beings he calls Steel Angels, who are powered artificially with their own energy bank known as a Heart, and have a peculiar way of being activated, by means of a kiss. Whoever activates said androids becomes their master, whom they will obey and protect without question. Such is the fate off a kid named Nakahito Kagura who stumbles into the scientist's lab inside a seemingly abandoned house and accidentally activates Kurumi for the first time by kissing her. Kurumi then adopts him as her master without a second thought and even rejects anyone else who tries to tell her an order, including her own creator. As the story progresses, Kurumi faces off other steel angels and mechanical menaces who try to capture her in order to turn her into a weapon by a secret organization that knows about the scientist's project. Such angels include Saki, who faces Kurumi until defeated, and is kissed by Kurumi herself to become her sister, unknowingly also turning her into a makeshift lover who never reveals her newfound love for Kurumi and is envious of Nakahito for having her, which is something he himself doesn't wish to accept. And then we have Karinka, which is a personal favorite of yours truly. Petite, small frame, and a volcanic temper who is not afraid to drop the F bomb casually. She is also the strongest of the three having Two Mach Hearts yet has trouble wondering how Kurumi has beaten her before. She concludes that the power lays on Nakahito, and also ventures trying to get a kiss from him in order to become stronger. Although there are more Steel Angels than first imagined, they seldom make any appearances save by an OAV that is more like a spinoff that isn't canonical with the entire first series. Most of the stories involve Kurumi trying hard to become Nakahito's lover true and true, while Saki and Karinka involve for their own reasons. It is a coin toss on how it has a straight linear story. In the English Dub Kurumi's voice can be either cute or ear piercing when she squeals, which she does a lot. She can be very annoying for having a simple, childish mind stated in a one track of wanting to be in Nakahito's pants no matter what the cost and confront anyone who even tries to speak with him, turning her into the most jealous Anime character which can be easily be turned down by fans in the fly. The saving grace besides gratuitous fanservice (which again, happens quite a lot and it would be considered an Ecchi by most Anime fans), is that Steel Angel Kurumi has some of the most colorful designs and wondrous eyes I have seen in any other series before, total eye candy which c an be either appreciated or suffer seizures if your eyes cannot stand such vibrant colors. hence this why the public announcement before every episode starts. Simply put, Steel Angel Kurumi is an eye pleasing work of art with little else on any other part that composes an Anime series. Fanservice affcionatos may be the ones who would collect it the most. Oh yes, Tom Yorke is a musical genius. Karma Police, Creep, Paranoid Android. His songs always an inspiration. I have recorded live shows in TV programs like David Letterman in old VHS tapes. Wish I could go to a concert featuring them someday.

movies/tv Does anybody else not like Anime?
Trixie the Greatest replied to SuperpoweredSuperfly's topic in Media Discussion
I like Anime, and am as such, a fan of most of what has been out since the 80s. It does have Comedy and can be as "wacky" as you want it to be, if you can give it a try. However, I would never state that anything made such as the pony show we like is an Anime. That is something that really annoys me from overly Anime fans that cannot see anything with big bright eyes before they call it an "Anime". Simply out, Anime is animation in Japanese, thus Japanese Animation, not American/Canadian. There have been horrible Anime as there has been horrible cartoons elsewhere. It all a big Ying and Yang thing really. You should consider watching my Tumblr and check my reviews sometime of what could be best to watch. -
What I could expect in the final season (If it is the final season that is) The CMC will eventually get those marks but not in the course of two episodes or just pullig out an Alicorn Twilight either. What I envision: A FAST FORWARD into the future, where Scootaloo, Applebloom, and Sweetie Belle are all grown up and have their marks, but conviniently covered until the right moment, where they decide to huddle and recall the times they had togheter as they embark a trot back to Ponyville. And just as the main 6 explained how they got theirs, we will see the same on each one of them leaving the best for last (Scootaloo's obviously, as with Rainbow Dash). I don't are how it will be written or what will it be included, this is a sure way to explain how they will eventually get it. After the future stance has passed, we go back to the present, where the trio are still trying to get their marks, but us already know how it will happen. Close the damn gaps already. Why is there a castle in Everfree Forest? How did Discord came to power and why Celestia wanted him "reformed"? What about the Gate of Tartarus Twilight stated casually while concentrating on a silly goosechase about a possible future? What became of Gilda, who is Trixie in reality? I DON'T want to see a "Lesson Zero" -like episode now that Twilight is an Alicorn. If she is going to bother in taking this Princess thing for real, let it be in a better way and not based on fanboy MEME expressions. Of course it would be cute and funny in the way FiM has been doing, but not to lesson zero extremes. That is enough. A major antagonist that doesn't suck please. We have 4 Alicorns now and even an Alicorn Amulet which could become a Wildcard to add in another Unicorn. There should be a menace worthy of having such power against it besides using the Elements. Cut the Pinkie Pie scenes by half at least. An episode where or not Scoots is an orphan. Just like in Dash when we saw her dad, we could see a legitimate relative with our favorite CMC at least. A Fluttershy/Applejack pairing episode since they are but the only pair which I am yet to see an episode of. Make Gilda return and let the writers do anything about it. Surprise us please. An episode of how a character like her befriended Rainbow Dash would be a nice thing as well in my opinion. No. More. SINGING. Unless it really fits and sparsely as when the Season 1 started. Not an entire episode musical like that mess to end S3. Another Luna episode would be nice. If there are Elements of Harmony, then there are Elements of Discord. A nice story tying up this sort of premise would be neat. We have seen all the cast's parents/relatives save one: Fluttershy. If they can do what they did with Dash at least it would be great. And if her mother happens to be named Posey I will die happily. Same with Scootaloo. I don't want to think she might be an orphan as some assumed. Make Rainbow Dash join the Wonderbolts already, but also a situation where she would have to choose between her friends and the team she longed to join since young. Finish the entire thing, and I mean the entire series overall, with a two part episode with NO cliffhangers and NO questions unanswered. Go wild but with taste. Make us remember MLP FiM the way we remembered good shows when they ended their run.

I finished my first comic! - Brohoofs
Trixie the Greatest replied to eightbithoof's topic in Visual Fan Art
So if I don't click on said button you will be safe and clutterfree, but your comic won't get broohoofs. This is quite a dilemma you have -
Drew Scoots as my favorite female Street Fighter Cammy, always thought both have a lot in common. Next up is Princess Celestia, inspired by someone else did of Wallpaper profiles, but did my own thing. What I hate is t hat her arm looks so out of place... Finally, Spitfire, my favorite of the Wonderbolts. I wasn't too happy for her voice change but she is still my fave Captain.

Well at least there is somewhat interesting premise as to why Twilight has to be in a Doug-esque world now. I hope this villain thing is handled better than with King Sombra back in regular MLP show. So what about that guy Twilight suddenly has a crush on? He looks like Soarin. Hm... But there are things that still make no sense. If Shimmer was a student before Twilight, how come she looks younger? Well, I guess I shouldn't ask about it...Twilight reverted her age too here as well.

I made my so so impression of Nathan Explosion from Metalocalypse as he watches MLP FiM for the first time with the rest of the band. Hope you like it. The audio is horrid since all I have is the Wav sound recorder and the microphone is an antique. Hope my horrid accent isn't too bad as well. http://youtu.be/oysY0t-NZ2Y
