Uhhh last time I checked, Rainbow Dash was a girl derpy_emoticon2.png

Wasn't referring to RD's gender. Was referring to the fact that she's a colourful pony.

And watching an awesome TV show about ponies doesn't make me any less straight.

To us, maybe. To hardcore right wingers (and some of the general public) you and I are probably as gay as Freddie Mercury. The point is that what some people like, regardless of whether the orientation seems wrong or not, shouldn't be odd when we are odd in our own way.

You're saying that other people are "weird" for having bisexual thought about musicians but we aren't judging you for worshipping a pony.

Says the guy on a pony forum, decked out in Rainbow Dash worship? I don't have any bisexual thoughts towards any musicians, but calling it odd is the same thing as saying black metal sucks: too opinionated to matter.

lmao look at this funny man why don't you tell us some funny things funny man

Another cool as fuck instrumental. Maybe Djenty was right when he said this is probably my best recommendation...

It's so raw. My favorite thrash album for sure.

I have bisexual thoughts about Vietnamese cartoons

Hey what about that metal thing we all like

Well anyone who has a problem with me liking Rainbow Dash can suck it.

I didn't say anyone was weird, I just said I found it a bit odd, I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Anyway, gonna post one more song:

I'd say that this is my favorite Converge song so far, I should listen to their other albums.

You should go check out Axe To Fall, You Fail Me, and No Heroes. First Light/Last Light will always be my favorite Converge track

Still missing the point, but I'll cease my rambling. You already know what I'm saying.

Okay. Why did the chicken cross the road?

I just liked the songwriting on it. Play For A Ballet and Extravasation are fucking cool.

way more harsh than a lot of metal can be, in different ways. Minimalism can be so effective sometimes. Fine example, right here.

I'm sure this has been discussed but I'm previewing Killswitch Engage's new album because I loved their older stuff. I still have a soft spot for Howard Jones although it's cool Jesse is back with the guys. Am I crazy for liking KsE with Howard > KsE with Jesse?

ALTERNATIVE ISN'T A GENRE GUYS

It's just like "hey I don't feel like classifying this as anything else so why not call it alternative"

deftones is nu-metal and alice in chains is grunge

Alternative is a genre, it's not a specific genre, but it is one.  "Alternative metal bands are often characterized by heavy guitar riffs, melodic vocals, unconventional sounds within other heavy metal genres, unconventional song structures and sometimes experimental approaches to heavy music." The key thing is it really doesn't fall in any other metal subgenre that well, but it isn't really experimental metal. There also is a loose connection between a lot of the Alternative Bands, not just in the scene, but often in the sound as well. Deftones might have a few Nu Metal songs, but they definitely are not a Nu Metal band. Alice in Chains might be a part of the Grunge scene, but their sound is different from most Grunge bands, especially now. It's as much of a genre as Prog or Avant-garde is.

Substructure has officially stated that they have broken up. They said they're going to re-release Monolith and the tracks they did finish for the full album, for free. I am pained to hear that there will be no full album. I think I died a lot inside...

I'm a big Disturbed fan, so I was expecting to really like this band, but it was kinda disappointing to me, although I like a few songs.

Same. I haven't listened to all of the songs on it yet, but that's the impression I'm getting. Anyway, I think Out of Line is pretty good, and it's not just because it has Serj and Geezer on it.

I really like the song "Haze" but that's probably mostly because it features the vocalist of Avenged Sevenfold and I'm a huge fan of that band.

Alternative isn't nearly as bad of a term as indie is. Indie is an aesthetic, and most of what plebs consider indie rock is usually power pop.

Metal, though. I plan on listening to the new Altar of Plagues today, and maybe backtracking to their earlier stuff.

No, but it may make you different from the other KSE fans that like Jesse > Howard.

Luck as a Constant, man...I've been addicted as fuck to this song lately...

Hell yeah, one of my favourite tracks of that album!

Lately i've really been getting into Gojra, especially the "From Mars to Sirius" album. Awesome stuff. I don't really know what genre would be fitting to them, so i just call them progressive whale metal.

Here's a couple of songs that show Gojira's both sides. "World To Come" shows their beautiful, beautiful melodic side, and "Heaviest Matter Of The Universe" shows their face-melting, bone-crushing heavyness.

Warbringer because NNL's thrash rubs off on me whenever he's here.

Why did this band not ever make it to my "to listen to later" list?

For some reason I just cannot get into Gojira. I've tried listening to both their albums but I just cannot keep them playing for more than 10 minutes. Usually I like to back up my reasoning by stuff like this but with that band... I just don't like them.

And here's a random Lamb of God song cause I'm listening to them now:

Awesome. That songs was one of the first LoG songs I learned how to guitar-ify-thing.

Oh, definitely. I love the shit out of that album. By far, From Mars to Sirius is my favorite Gowjiwa. Gotta love those whales.

The outro riff gives me a metalboner. I always imagine the how it'd be spelled, like "DUDUDUDUDUDU-DOON BREEW DUDUDU-DOON SKREEEEWWW". Pick slides are a nice thing.

Oh. Have you tried listening to their previous albums? Because they have more than two albums, they've got 5. Their older stuff is more technical death than progressive death, so that might fit better since I'm pretty sure you also posted some Hour of Penance and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Also, I've already been posting "Awaken the Dreamers" for quite a while. I thought it would already be on your "to listen to later" list. :(

I don't really like the band though. Especially not their latest album. Generic and non-melodic as shit. Their new guitarist can't even play Chris Storey's stuff. And they actually had a guy who could, but then they kicked him out for some reason.

Favourite deathcore album though.

In light of recent events, I feel I should listen to this album today.

And if you didn't know, now you know.

Alright, time to get southern up in here. All this cookie monster metal is neato and all, but THIS is what you listen to when you're feeling like you want to grab your boss by the head and shove her face in a motherbucking stump grinder:

I was like "Oooh some Southern shit ye-" and then I saw Pantera.

Give this a shot.

Yeah I'm with you, I was never a fan of Gojira, I just couldn't really get into them, I don't know why but I can't seem to get around to liking them. But anyways leaving some Between The Buried And Me, because I feel like it.

Nothing in particular, it's just overdone for me and I was hoping for something better.

Plus, I just like Hank III a lot, even though Assjack is the only metal thing he's done.

I'll post something else to make up for that.
