I need an opinion from you guys about Planet Caravan.

Which version is better?

The original by Black Sabbath:

Or the cover by Pantera:

Pantera's version by far. I can barley hear or understand Ozzy on the original. Not only is the quality upped on the second, but Phil's voice lends it another dimension & Dimes playing gives it that southern bluesy charm.  It just feels like Pantera put more effort into the song.

I don't listen to metal very often aside from VG remixes, but it's definitely one of my favourite genres... I love the energy that's put into it. ^.^

Yeah, I gotta say I was never a big fan of the original. The cover is better.

Great song incoming

Geez, I haven't been here in a while ._.

Same!  It's been a long time for me, too.

Btw, that song was kickass.

So I thought I'd post this because I know many folks like Chester Bennington in Linkin Park, but may not have known that he was singing with a totally different style of voice before he got with Linkin Park...  He was in a band that was sort of "post-grunge" but still "pre-nu metal" (at least that's what it sounds like in my ears); but I'm not sure what genre it is technically classified as.

Grey Daze.

This is their first album, Wake Me:

I love his voice, he is just ridiculously awesome.

NEW SLAYER SONG!

This is the title track off their upcoming album called Repentless

This is so much better than their two last songs they revealed, but they are still people who whine about every single little details about this song, even after this improvement, for example not even knowing about the theme of those lyrics, when they are about Jeff Hanneman.

But who cares about them, because this is Slaaaayeer! and they stay Slayer!

Man, Max Cavalera has been cranking on all cylinders. He puts out the first Killer Be Killed record early last year. Drops the new Cavalera Conspiracy record late last year. Just wrapped up the tour for that album last month. And now he's putting out new Soulfly? Where does he find the time to do all this?

Remember when Soundgarden made doom metal? Must be said, they're pretty damn good at it.

Same!  It's been a long time for me, too.

I wouldn't consider GD metal. At the most, I'd classify them as post-grunge.
