RPS's are probably the greatest genre, but I also love it when platformers, shooters and similar games bring elements of RPG into their games, such as GTA, Mass Effect, tomb Raider... Kinda :P

Assassin's Creed? :3

I love playing through third person shooters like Uncharted, Tomb Raider and the later Resident Evil entries (after 4 it starts to become a TPS).

I enjoy RPGs like Final Fantasy

I really adore racing games like Mario Kart and Sonic Riders

Point and Click games like Dreamfall: The Longest Journey are spectacular

Platformers like Super Mario Sunshine

First person shooters like F.E.A.R, Team Fortress 2 and TimeShift are a whole lotta fun too.

It's gotta be RPGs in my opinion. No matter what type of RPG is your preffered flavor between Japanese, Western, MMO, turn-based, real-time, tactical, whatever, you just know you're gonna have hours of fun with one and they will always last you a long time. :)

I'd put well-executed third-person action games at a close second though. ;)

Turn based rpgs are my favorites.  I adore Persona 3 and 4, Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL, VII, VIII, X, V, and IX, Dragon Quest I and VIII, and Etrian Odyssey.  I like that you can pace yourself, and that there aren't challenges you can't overcome without putting in enough time, plus all the decision making, and I like not having to figure out complex controls.

I love you.

As above Stated Turn based RPG's have to be my personal favourite, it's just games like so I feel the most comfortable as playing, and feel the most addicted to over time, and there's normally no rage quit levels/Places to get through which is a big plus in my books.

Yeah RPG's are the best. My all favorite game genre. I like racing too, but I don't think that implies to this topic. Oh well, my opinion.

Psychological Horror...why?

Well, we got great games such as:

  • Silent Hill
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Siren
  • Fatal Frame
  • Alan Wake
  • Amnesia
  • Condemned
  • SCP: Containment Breach
  • Alice: Madness Returns
  • Calling

And those are the ones I experienced, we also have games in the genre that I haven't played:

  • Dead Space
  • Clock Tower
  • Penumbra

My second choice would be Action-Adventure or just Adventure.

Used to be I'd say Platformers, but in recent years I've found that puzzle games are my cup of tea. Not just Professor Layton... but also Portal, Ace Attorney (to an extent), and others as such are the ones I find the most pleasure in.

In the end, though, the story's what keeps me interested.

There is none.  Games come in a wide variety and each kind has it's own appeal.  For example, CoD is one of the best selling franchises; but so is Wii Sports (why then, is everyone trying to rip off CoD?).  What about Mario?  Pokemon?  What do these games have in common?  Nothing, except for sales figures.

Indie games. I like my games, like my friends.... Random.  :3

When inside the Indie genre I perfer more emotional driven games, does not matter if it goes for a feeling of happiness or sadness.

Turned based strategy and real time strategy and tactics games are my favourite, such as Age of Empires, Total War series and Cossacks, in addition city building games from Break Away Games, that is very fun to play too, any game that requires shrewdness and pragmatic thinking is the game that I really enjoy.
