Are bronies trolling?

I go around the net a lot (no jokes about how I have no life please ;)) and I notice a common trend; either there's someone spreading slander on a MLP related video, or a brony is making a scene on something that may only have a passive connection to the fandom.

The result is the same either way: a mess of an argument (or a quick die off if the troll isn't interested), but that's just it- I've seen folks throwing out their side and getting right offensive about it. I don't like their attitudes, either side, but I find it especially distasteful coming off of the keyboard of someone who claims to the show as much as I do (if not more), and making a fuss about it... it seems to me like they're trollbaiting, which isn't much different from the source material if you know what I mean, and being straight-up nasty about it.

I can't say they're doing any better than the trolls, and I wonder if they're trolling in their own way. I hold My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic in as high a regard as any of my pony-loving bronies and pegasisters might, but I'm going to defend it with a smile on my face (never mind that I think trolls are just downright silly anyway), the way I ought to. So what do you all think? These really fellow bronies? Maybe their just trolls? Maybe they think they're in the right slinging mud at the trolls? I just know that I find it rather depressing considering what FIM is all about...

I only love you platonically.

As in plate tectonics.

As in two bodies sliding against each other.

Some bronies troll as a little harmless joke, others troll until the cows come home.

It just depends on who the person is behind the computer screen, where they are on the internet and what they're about to get themselves into.

In all seriousness I think what you may be recognizing as trolling is simply just comebacks or payback from all the trolling directed at us. xD

One question: you ever been on iFunny? I have a profile there, where I try and post original content instead of recycling humor (yes, shameless self-promotion). That's beside the point though. The level of trolling and hate there is absurd. I have subscribers and I know I'll get more, so I post for their enjoyment and the enjoyment of other like-minded people. But I get hate more often than I get likes, it seems. It comes from all sources, too. Even other fandoms (furries, for instance) calling bronies childish.

How does this have to do with your question? Well, to put it mildly, I agree with you. The way I see the MLP-loving community responding to hate is often just as childish as the haters suggest bronies are. Upon receiving a hate comment: "Oh, let's ban raid this kid. Report him! Report him, everyone!" Geez, grow up, people. I defend my self when I see fit, sure. But most of the time I see hate, I ignore, delete, and carry on. It's a big, dumb world out there, full of people who enjoy harassing others as much as I enjoy MLP (and coming up with good, humorous, original content to share).

Accordingly, I think the MLP fandom would do well to just be a little bit more chill and less indignant at the fact that we receive hate.

I'm not sure about other Bronies, but on some sites I do troll.

I don't go on iFunny or other sites like it, but from what I see on Youtube, most Bronies are just getting very reactionary to anti-MLP comments and can't help but take the bait. Some Bronies might trollbait for attention, but I don't think it's a very widespread phenomenon. The majority of Bronies I see either don't troll or just get very inflamed when others troll them.

That's just my two cents.

-_- Love and tolerate folks, it's the dang slogan we came up with! When I'd have to replace half the "comeback" with *explicit*s just to feel comfortable putting it here, there's something wrong. I mean I know how defensive we can get, but come on!

There are trolls, and then there are Brony trolls.

The two seem to get along rather well with each other.  :P

Oh, and you couldn't possibly have a more fitting avatar to be saying that XD

There are going to be fans like that in every fandom, no matter where you go. It's really nothing new. :derp:

Trolls: The only winning move is not to play.

Feeding the trolls is just as bad as being one yourself. By getting into it with them you are doing exactly what they want you to do. Getting into arguments on youtube comments over stupid shit is something immature twats do, so show how mature you can be by not doing anything. Sometimes inaction is more effective than action.

If you find a particularly offensive comment the best way to deal with it I've found is to reply with one to four words at most. You can reply to things like 'shut up' 'moron' 'idiot' 'stfu' any of those will suffice, just as long as you don't go beyond that, and ignore any further toxic comments. 'who gives a shit' works great too.

That's what the fandom originally was supposed to be: Trolls.

You could say those are the ur-bronies.

Some bronies fight fire with fire.

And i'm not gonna lie, it amuses me greatly just how bent out of shape some people get over ponies. I could probably shoot them in the leg or something and still get no reaction like i would if a posted a picture of Rainbow Dash eating a sandwich.

When people try to get me mad by calling me unsavory names I just ignore them. I never was one to fall for trolls, way to obvious to get mad at imo.

Now on the other hand some times I like to go trolling in a game like cs go where most people are unsavory folk that I dont care for much and I just dump as much pony stuff into my ramblings while I play. Its so easy for them to get mad at you! I remember I was with a friend trolling and the first thing we said got a few people insta raging

So in short I dont always troll but when I do, its terrible video game communitys. B)

so much this.

Just look at the source of the fandom and how it was widespread...It was all about trolling at the beginning.

Anyways I believe that some got into the fandom Because it bothers people can be seen as annoying or outside the norm, like did you watch one of those reaction videos on TheFineBros? Some of them became a brony in 10 seconds flat, judging from their reaction, to troll and abuse the hype. I think anyways.

What evidence could be for a god? Because, if god can do anything, surely a lesser being relative to god, could still trick humans without fail if they wanted to. Which means, a being that appears to be god, may not be god. So even if god showed up in person doing anything and everything, for all you know it could be a demon casting illusions or your brain plugged into the matrix. Just because it claims to be a god, does not mean it is. Thus, there is never evidence enough for a god. Which means you cannot have an accurate reason for believing in god.

Heh, I never said it wasn't funny, but I still dislike their attitudes. Still, I understand that there's many a brony who take part in our antics just for kicks, one's who are just here to be part of something more than any other reason and I can understand that. I personally considered myself a victim of this condition, and then I watched the show. Good grief, my feels (sorry for lame memetic phrases) ;)

Well some bronies are trolls...we can't all be innocent can we? we are just a fandom.... harmless trolling I don't tend to mind but when it gets....over the top....I can't say I support it however yes some bronies are trolls however I can't consider the fandom itself being a fandom of trolling...
