Gen 3 specials in the Mega Mare-a-thon

So...what do think?

 

This is the most I've ever watched of Gen 3--in fact, I'm still working my way through them on DVR (reluctantly)--and I'll just say that I'm glad Lauren Faust came along...

 

Ya see, THIS is what the haters think we're watching. You could OD on estrogen just watching (and get some cavities while you're at it)...

 

If only they'd had the rights to the Gen 1 Specials and Movie...

 

Though I gotta admit...I'm getting a bit of a kick hearing Tracey Moore in MLP! XD

Haters don't think we are watching G3... their hate art strictly depicts the fourth generation, and I don't put it pass them to even know what G3 is anyways. Of course, our friends and family tend to be ignorant to the brony fandom, my aunt gives me DVDs of G3 MLP that her granddaughter use to watch and wholeheartedly believes that is what bronies primarily enjoy.

 

Other than that, it is indeed a blast from the past, I used to watch the Runaway Rainbow and the Princess Promenade with my sister. I love their songs and the oh so silly nonsensical plot lines, they are just as heartwarming as the fourth generation of MLP, just in its own little goofy way.

Well I feel like the only pegasister which is 100% fine with G3 in fact I used to watch it I would feel better if they also put some G1 in too though but hey as I said cool with it....

They're putting G3 into the marathon; this is amazing! I'm only gonna watch the marathon for G3. But too bad they aren't airing G1, if only the still had rights to it... Oh well, I can always watch G1 online. This is good, though, that they're airing it next to G4, so maybe some Bronies will give it a chance!

Huh that must have been pretty off putting for the audience over there in the U.S, I mean you've just been watching a show with plots intended for anyone and everyone, interesting characters, fantastic animation and voice acting. Then you are exposed to a shall I say thing with next to no story outside of ponies exist and play with each other(and don't forget buy our products)characters with no personality or character traits(aside from one who I believe had some kind of sock obsession). Not to mention terrible animation and awful voice acting, my heart goes out to all the parents who suffered during this horrific airing that shall hopefully never happen again.

first your first post is very very confusing second the Anti-Brony don't think we watch G3 and really the only ones who hate G3 are some of the Anti-Bronies but mostly our own Bronykin they do not understand how great this actually is

Well, that's cool for fans of G3. I'm still not gonna watch them. I've seen them before. They really just aren't something I like at all. The stories aren't that interesting, the characters lack character and the art it just too...pink. There might have been a few bits and pieces here and there I liked for the wrong reasons, but overall I just don't like them.

 

 Minty was kinda fun though for some reason. I'd like to see a G4 Minty.

What I meant about "what the haters think we watch" meant them lumping all of MLP into one blob of saccharine, garish, nigh-mindless girls' cartoons.

I tried to watch the G3 specials...  They were painful to me.  The ponies reminded me of the eloi from the time machine, living in a state of a perpetual 6-year-old.  It was very much the opposite of G4 in a lot of ways.

Props to those who love G3, but I watched some of them and I really don't think it holds a candle to FiM, particularly in terms of plots and characterization. Just not my thing.

Relief of finally getting the last few episodes done aside, I tried G3. Pinkie Pie in the show said they looked a teensy bit different but to me it's not teensy bit, pretty dramatic difference 0.0

 

I wouldn't call G3 a failure but it something just isn't quite on par in G3, I can't really tell what though.

 

As for the haters, they do focus on G4 more instead of G3, though I'd say they hate all gens lol.

I haven't seen that movie in a long time I forgot how creepy they were. You're right though. From what I watched of the G3 stuff- the characters seem brainwashed. Their eyes are kinda creepy too.

 

Do I HATE IT? No. It's FAR from the worst cartoon I've ever seen. I just wouldn't call myself a fan of the older MLP gens. I definitely think G4 is so much better in terms of animation, writing, and voice acting.

I watched the first G3 special today and don't see how it is all of that bad. I especially liked Minty as a character. So I plan on continuing to watch it.

 

Anyway, I'm glad that they're airing these specials. Poor G3.
