I've only finished one, which was Past Sins, and I enjoyed that. Now I'm currently starting Ponies Make War, which seems to be an interesting concept.

I haven't read too many fics, but My Little Dashie was just legendary.

 

Hmm... Cupcakes? Made me feel sick, but it had some humor to it

 

Rainbow Factory? Pretty much an improved version of Cupcakes with no gore or humor. And i must admit, i felt like shedding a tear during some of its scenes

"Somewhere Only We Know" It just doesn't get enough love or it was entirely forgotten. Honest to god I just found it to be more deep than My Little Dashie, so do yourself a favor and enjoy it again or for the first time.

Little Dashie was just too overrated :/

 

If I had to pick one, it will be between Sometimes I Wonder... by LunaUsesCaps or Mothers by KnightMysterio

 

Both are very heart-warming in their own ways.

I'm on chapter 19, the chapters are broken up into "episodes" like in FIM, 3 chapters usually make up on episode, tho the first episode (one staring twilight) was longer, and the second twilight episode is 6.5 chapters long, where as the ones staring the other main characters are only 3 chapters. Every chapter so far has been excellent, well written (despite some minor spelling errors here and there) and interesting. It's a great read if you like a hogwartsesque MLP tale (tho there's no harry potter crossover, thank god, it's just set in a hogwarts-like school).

 

As you can see with the amount of likes and dislikes it has, it's quite popular.

My favorite piece of fanfiction ever (so far) is Eternal by device heretic. It is extremely well written. It's pretty long, but the psychological depth he gives the characters is incredible. Also, I felt like the final emotional payoff was superior to anything else I've seen in a fan work. I would recommend it to (almost) anyone.

Two of my personal favorite fics would have to be Running From Myself and The Masks We Wear , both fics I find myself reading again and again. The only other fic I can think to mention would be Crisis: Equestria, which I think is quickly becoming the next epic in league with the likes of Fallout: Equestria.
