Yes she had seen the that pony and Strike knew she was a witness. But the Commanders would have wanted to know about it. After all her job was to report back what she had seen. But Strike knew that the pony did look familiar and she frowned.

"Stargazer. I think we have that pony in our database. They have a record." Strike explained.

She ceased to remember. There was a database back at HQ where she could try and figure out who the pony was.

But first they would need some actual DNA of the pony so it would be easier to find them in the database.

"Stargazer. Can I go back to the database. HQ is not far from here. We have set up a small camp just outside Pony Ville and we have a database there with information of the arrests that we have made. I am going to go there later.".

Suddenly Strike spotted something on the floor and her eyes widened slightly. She whizzed forward to get a better look and realised that it was a piece of fabric.

"Fabric from clothes." she thought.

"Stargazer. I am going back to HQ and handing this over to the higher officers to see if they can analyse this fabric. It may have clues. Thank you for the picture." she cried out.

She whizzed back down Pony Ville with the fabric in her hand. She was sure that they could get something out of this.

"Don't worry about me. If you spot any other danger or threat. I hope you can deal with it." she muttered.

And she thought, I shall meet ponies on the way, to see if they had witnessed this pony or not.

@@Moonlit,

Ziggy scratched her head, trying to think of something.

"Hmm... I don't really know if I forgot to ask anything. All the medical files are here, and we covered a lot of stuff..."

You'd think that she would have had more questions when faced with a lifeform she hadn't seen before, but they had rammed through things pretty efficiently, and the medical records would hold better answers than she could get from Serenade about the ins and outs of how her body worked, so it seemed a bit like the well had run dry for now.

"I don't know, I can't think of anything right now. Oh, but do You have any questions? Trying to think of something eventually, but in the meantime, it have been a bit one-sided this. Never really asked if you were curious about something, and that isn't very nice. Makes it seem like an interrogation or something."

@@Officer Strike,

Stargazer just stood there as he were left behind, letting out a long, drawn-out sigh and shaking his head.

Strike were till young, and he understood the urge to impress her senior guards, but she were taking this in a rushed manner without thinking about other angles to things than *Bring this* and *Look in records*. It were not bad ideas, and it Should be done, without a doubt, but she had neglected to take use of the resource that he could be for this so far and hadn't asked him to do other things to help the proceedings.

There were a time when he thought this the arrogance of the Solar Guards. A time when he were sure that they felt far superior to him and the other Night Guards because they had an actual princess to serve instead of just a memory and some doctrines like them - until Princess Luna had returned that were - and various other reasons ranging from them not thinking they were actual ponies and into more absurd theories that you'd think only a crazy pony would think up.

But time had dulled that and opened his eyes. Some were indeed arrogant, and felt above the Night Guard, but most of the time it were simply that they used other procedures and had a different inner structure than his own kin had, and they found it more efficiently to keep things under their own guidelines and ponies than trying to work with a clashing system with their nightly counterparts.

He couldn't blame them for that, as the Night Guards were usually the same, but it did push a stick in the wheel of things when he wanted to be helpful like now.

"Oh well, I'm awake anyway. Might as well take a round and see if something's happening elsewhere. Might be something in the making."

With that, he went outside and closed the door behind him before spreading his wings and taking to the sky so he could have a glance around. More than likely nothing were going on, but he'd see soon. Though he would say that it looked like some of the ponies beneath were gathering more in clusters than he had seen before, like they were gossiping about something. Perhaps something he should check out later, but he'd prefer to find something tangible before going into what might as well just be groups talking about a new recipe or something.

They'd flag him down if what they talked about were important enough for him to hear he'd wager.

@@Blitz Boom,

The sight of the dark woods ahead still kept Senlin at bay but whether he had the composure to move ahead was questionable. If Lin was ahead, this was a strange way of telling him. If this was a test, then this was one sick game that wasn't funny anymore. And if whoever left the clues behind wasn't Lin? He was afraid to find out what the answer to that question was. But he didn't have any other choice but to push onward.

"Well, it's not like there is any other choice but to go forward." Senlin marked the trunk of the tree adjacent to the last mark, leaving his name-symbol etched into the bark. "If ever we turn back and try again tomorrow, this mark will tell us where to be."

@@Blitz Boom,

As expected, Chow remained unfazed. He wasn't, after all, the type of pony who would simply back down. Dahlia wished he was.

He had pointed out that usually, she wouldn't get this angry over books. That was true. There was another factor.

Double Chow had found her lake. Her place of respite. Which meant that if he ever wanted to bother her during her usual leisure time, he could.

And, on top of that, there was everything else in her life. Finance. Racism. "Jobism".

And everything else, the things she skipped over whenever anypony demanded she tell them her story.

Those last ones...those were things close friends told (and maybe those in therapy sessions).

But not Dahlia to Chow.

Never Dahlia to Chow.

She steeled herself with this fact.

All this went down in Dahlia's mind for about three seconds as she simultaneously came up with a retort.

"Well, there is the fact that you're here when I'm here, so you have the will and ability to stalk me. Don't ask me why you want to find yourself in the emergency room."

Dahlia knew this was a dangerous thing to say. Now that it was out of her mouth, if she kept going, she'd eventually have to hit him, by the unspoken rule of image. After that happened, the only thing that kept him from, oh, suing her or something, was that he was a nice pony. The problem was that since he was a nice pony, he'd never stop bothering her, so the circle was complete.

And Dahlia would really like to get out of that circle. Move away from Ponyville or something.

But there were a couple problems with that. She didn't like the city; it was a bit disturbing how dirty and rundown everything was in most cities. She didn't like places like Apploosa, either; too many stampedes. Canterlotians had to be all fancy all the time. She'd crossed every place on her map of Equestria but one: the Everfree Forest.

Moving to the Everfree meant growing her own food, building her own house, warding away Timberwolves and other creatures, and avoiding dangerous plants.

She wasn't sure she was up to it, but the only other choice was to trot miles and miles to live with the zebras. (Dragons and griffons are dangerous, yaks are idiotic, et cetera, et cetera.)

And so, she had to stay in Ponyville until one of the two became more accessible.

This is how Dahlia lived.

It didn't take him long to catch up to Vivid, not to mention she hadn't really gone far. The weird thing - or at least annoying one - was that she appeared to be speaking to no-one. He was eavesdropping. Naturally. In both directions. By now, it felt rude not to.

He didn't really have much of a clue who or what she was talking to, though. Nothing came up on radar, lidar, gravity detector, EM scanner or any of the usuals. Even with the seemingly impressive array of sensors, stealth - technological, magical or otherwise - was easy to buy in Paragon, and preparedness aside, he never managed to develop that innate knack for seeing things coming, a shortcoming that sent him to the hospital almost more often than anything else.

He slowed down to a trot, then stopped a short distance away, turning slightly to confirm that the poetry pony was behind him. So, Vivid. Either talking to herself, or talking to someone who was talking back. He thought for a second. Or both, he conceded. Oh, and there was still the possibility that it was a trick of some sort, but he wasn't megalomaniacal enough to still be convinced everything revolved around him.

@,

"Wait, Stalking you?"

Chow let out another hearty laugther, finding the notion that he'd go the nutter road on Dahlia hilarious.

"Don't get me wrong Dahlia, you're a cracking mare, but stalking's fer prey. Like ol' Ms. Piggy over there."

He pointed towards the impaled hog over at the tree, still chuckling a little under the grin he sent Dahlia.

"Been after that bugger for 8 hours, and when it spotted me an hour ago, it went to a chase that took us all around the place. Was a right hassle, but when Giddon gets a hold of this, that box of Ghostscale Tuna will make it all worth it."

Dahlia might have seen Giddon a few times at Chow's stand, but if she cared were another thing. The crimson and black Gryphon with the silver eyes that had showed up every few weeks for about three months now didn't care to speak with many others than Chow, who he knew from back when the Pony lived amongst his kin.

He was a middle man of sorts between those who needed certain services, and those who offered them, which tended to include some shadier clientel at times. He kept his beak clean and made the more dangerous kinds slip to authority, but the depths of what he had actually running most of the times were known to only himself, and he didn't like being asked.

The silent agreement never to ask was what kept him and Chow on friendly terms, even after they hadn't seen eachother for a long time after the Pony moved. Though it helped that he didn't have anything questionable going on with any of Giddon's contacts either, so he hadn't the need to ask.

Not saying he hadn't anything going of course. Giddon came around now and again with some lists of prey that he knew somepony wanted and what was offered, Chow listened and picked the ones that sounded good, and then he had a few days getting his part of the deal ready.

In this case, it was a trade between a hog - troubling to work with and not good in the pet food - and a crate of primo Ghostscale Tuna, which he most certainly could use and around these parts wasn't easy to get your hoofs on.

Good fortune aside, what had he been thinking on again to get him here? ...Oh right, potential stalking. That one.

"Anyway, you have my word lass, I didn't even know this place was out here, much less that you'd be here. I ain't complaining mind you, but I was just settling in a random safe spot."

"Okay then. Long ago, in Las Pegasus, a Zebra called Azagoth started to perform on a few of the lesser stages. After a few years he became a steadily employed headliner at one of the medium sized casinoes and needed an accountant, which is where he meet my mum, Sugar Words.

It was a year after that they got married, and the year after that mum found out that she were pregnant. With triplets.

I am the oldest of the three of us by like, a minute or two, though not many really belive that were triplets. Lemon Drop and Sour Skies looks Really alike, and looks like regular pegasi, whilst I... Well, I take a lot more from our dad.

I never really had much time home before my parents had to take me to the doctors and figure out why I was screaming all the time though. Turns out I had some sort of imbalance that, amongst other things, meant I had A Lot of growth pains.

I spent most of my life in the hospital from I was 1 to 14 then, as they tried to figure something out that could help, and otherwise keep the pain down and teach me to not be clumsy with my larger body.

And let me tell you, I rose up fast. I reached over my dad when I was 10, and it still didn't stop 5 years later when the doctors finally found out how to fix me up, though it tones down massively at least. Heck, I reach up over most, and I'm only 19."

Ziggy had stopped moving around when the story was starting to unfold a little, and when she reached the later parts she had spread out her wings to show a bit more how big she were.

"Anyway, I had gotten used to the doctors and the technical lingo trying to understand what was going on with me, so after finally being home with my family for a little while I began on getting a doctors degree.

It's about a year ago I got it and I pretty much left home that same month. I had been confined enough and wanted to see the world, so I went on my way, though I do go home now and again.

I like life on the road really. I settle down now and again to help locals, and sleeping under the stars are way better than the murky hospital lights. Earns me a living, and adventure so who can complain?

Oh, and if you wonder about my physique, I am really just like a pegasus. I have a small bit of robustness going from dad, but nothing that really takes from me just being a pegasus with a good deal of Zebra characteristics. I even wear the rings like dad and granpa does. Or well..."

Ziggy's hoof went to her neck where the old pearl necklace laid, and got a small look of sadness over her for a little while before talking again.

"The necklace was a gift from my late great-grandmother, so I keep that instead of the rings. It holds a lot of sentimental value y'know?"

She got a smile back, thinking over the good times that had once been when the old mare had come around and taken her out for the day. It were what she wanted to be remembered like, not the loss from when she passed, though at times it did still draw Ziggy down with how much she missed her.

"I think that's it? ...Oh, I guess there's also to mention that I'm not that good at potions like my siblings. Dad tried to teach me, but it tended to end rather... Poorly.

It was about thirty minutes when he felt like he went around in circles and realized it before turning back. There was a little needle sticking out of the dead tree remains.

He tried to push it out but ended up pricking himself with his right hoof.

Blood seeped out of the little pinprick and colored the fur around it red.

With a hint of silver.

Wait, what?

Lonk scraped his hoof on the stump.

Yes, his blood was a little more pale than usual. It glimmered in the sunlight, and had a potent smell. He couldn't explain the smell, but it smelled... Natural, in a way.

He'd been following him here and sniffing his colasped body.

The sneeze he had no idea about. Maybe the smell of his blood had to do with it.

He could hear himself groan, and hear him get up. He could still see nothing, and he di-

WAIT WHAT AM I DOING, Lonk thought to himself.

Eeegh, something groaned.

Lonk had never heard anything like that in his life. It was an unearthly groan, one of some sort of monster.

So now I have a split personality or something? Great, Lonk thought to himself.

One thing's for sure, I'm not a part of you at all, no sir, somethi-pony mumbled.

What is this?

I don't know. You're the expert now. What's this dog doing here? And why am I blue?

I don't know. Get out of here. How are you speaking to me anyway? I don't want any part of this voodoo magic.

Here, is this better?

The sun is shining brightly. A small town comes into view. Nopony's home.

An orange pony looks down at himself. He notices his paper cut from that darn lottery newsletter.

His blood looks weird. A hint of some grey-silver thing. And boy does it stink.

Then he blacked out and felt a thump of his head hitting the sidewalk pavement.

????

So yeah. I guess we're in common somehow.

Let me get this straight. We have the same weird blood, we both blacked out suddenly, and we are now thinking to each other while we're out.

Well I'm here in some strange forest, and apart from that, I don't know! All I think applies here is that I'm Jaraco, and you're...

Jaraco? Really?

Shush. Wait, I'm blacking out. I'll get back to you.

Lonk felt control back into his body and vision returned. He could see things again. Something green. Tall. Lots of leaves.

And a cute little Timberpup.

Yep.

May as well face the facts here; he, Stardust, was lost.

How the yellow Earth Pony managed to achieve as such was a mystery in itself; considering the small populace of this town in general, you wouldn't really expect someone to easily lost sense of direction. A breath of frustration flowing form his nostrils, Stardust continued onwards anyway, hoping to find the location before the day was up. He had traveled from the darkness that was the Everfree Forest and camping out inside the ruined castle of old, and now he desperately desired some soda; the whole reason he came out today in the first place.

Now the fatigued Earth Pony needed some more than ever. Perhaps he should restrain his dignity and finally ask for some directions...

Frosty watched as Summer helped Blitz out with the bucket. He chuckled a bit when he saw Summer go over to give poor Damon a piece of her mind. Angry Summer is pretty scary.
He then noticed Blitz as she walked up to him.
"Y-yes, I think Damon made the fire with his weird...wand? Death-stick? I don't know what it is, but yes, I took the fire away."
Frosty frowned as he tried to think of a way to explain how it worked.
"You know, heat is like a...a..." - Frosty frowned some more - "...a balloon. The more heat there is, the bigger the balloon, yes? So you take the air from one balloon, and you put it in another balloon, a bigger, tougher balloon. One that doesn't explode when there's too much air in it."
Frosty facehoofed as he said this. This wasn't how it works at all, but it was a very good lie, he thought.

Strike had reached the HQ soon enough where she saw two guards guarding the HQ. They saluted as Strike decided to enter the small building and Strike saluted back. She rested her wings and remembered what her job here was to do, and that was to see in the records if the others could identify who the piece of thread belonged to.

Strike smoothed down her mane which was messy and kept on bobbing back on. It did not bother her usually but signs of unusual behaviour meant that she was getting irritated a little. She calmed down and slapped her hoof to her head.

"Your cool Strike. You get worried over nothing. To business." she said as she was thinking of bounding off down to one of the officers and asking them to analyse the evidence that she had found.

But something else caught her eye in the distance. A stallion. He was well older than her, Strike could see that, and he had a dusty lemon coat, with a straw hat and a saddle bag around him.

He looked like he wanted to speak to someone or were waiting for someone, but he looked agitated. Strike frowned.

He was obviously around the HQ for something, and she knew that it were duty to help those who did come about to the local Solar Guards.

She came, with a serious expression on her face.

"Sir can I help you?"  she asked.
