RainbowMau 291 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 (edited) Some weeks ago I told at another forum that I tried to meet more people at anime cons and someone replied me that I'm almost 30 and cosplay events are not places to meet people or my lovemate for me anymore, that I should try with salsa dance classes or learning a language cause they're frequented by people from our age, and she also said "A place where people goes disguised as anime characters is not a place for adults to start relationships for me". So, is there a limit age? I'm 29 so according to this person the limit age must be like... 25? Edited September 28, 2014 by RainbowMau
Scootaloodle 1,622 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 Well whoever told you your too old for cons is talking drivel. Lots of adults go to anime cons etc
Shift 4,272 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 I'm a teen and pretty sure i'm too young for cons. You can go whenever you want, don't let people dictate your life. There's no age limit; go and have fun, mate. 6 Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.
Zhortac 1,474 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 Oh please, who cares how old you are? It's not like they'll throw you out. Besides, what's wrong with having friends or even finding a potential date that's younger than you (of course there is too young IE: under 18)? 1 Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.
Red Cedar 1,408 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 Yeah... no. I just went to my first pony con and though I was definitely not among the youngest I also was far from the oldest. Straight up SF cons run the gamut from 5 to 95. Cons are for anyone who likes the subject of the con. 5 Roleplaying OC: Red Cedar - Cast Character: Applejack

Banul 3,831 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 My best friend's dad is like 50 or 60 something. I don't know exactly how old. Hes been to every (San Diego) Comic Con since it's started. Don't let anyone tell you you're to old to go to a con, especially not at freaking 30.
Starflower 323 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 Since when there was an age limit to attend a convention? I've seen older people cosplaying at SDCC when I went there a few months ago. Don't let that rub you the wrong way. if you want to keep going to cons, go for it. Don't let anything stop you.
Fire Lily 86 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 There was a con I went to last year where a guy in his 60's (I think) could do Apple Bloom's entire cutie mark rant thing from season one. So I'd say there's no such thing as too old. OC Pages: Fire Lily, Angel, Flutter Dusk Loyalty is rare. If you've found it, keep it.
Live Forever 316 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 When are you too old for Homestuck, Andrew?"Uh, never!"There's your answer. Rarity is the best thing in my life. Fhaolan 4,483 September 28, 2014 Share September 28, 2014 *LOL* No, there's no age limit on cons. However, cons are hard places to meet new people on average. Not because there's a lack of people, but because the number of activities is kept so high that most of the people there are constantly rushing from one thing to the next. The way a lot of modern cons are organized, there little to no down time where people simply mingle unless there is an event set aside specifically *for* that.

Jeric 46,851 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 Psssh. @RainbowMau Fan conventions and ages? You do realize I was like 6 years old and watching anime ... and i'm in my late 30's now right? You realize that there are more than a few of us that are older than you on this board, right? I'm not even the oldest. This below quote can be used to address every single one of you posts having an issue to do with your age. You know my opinion on this since I keep having to mention it, due to the abundance of these sort of topics. Therefore I do not feel bad about the redundancy. "Age is just a number. It's totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine." - Joan Collins
Haruhi-chan 486 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 (edited) Psh. I'm 25 going on 26, and I still go to an anime convention. I'm a kid at heart, so people don't even know I'm that old. As long as you have fun, there's no reason to feel like you are too old. If people are telling you that you are, they are completely nuts if you ask me. My mom who goes with me (due to special needs) is close to her fifties, and she goes with me as well. She loves it! Ashen Pathfinder 16,161 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 Seems like the person who told you that pretty much had the wrong idea on what a convention actually is. Really, considering he/she is treating them like a place for people to hook-up at. Augh, I've never been to one personally, but I wouldn't let a silly thing like age stop me. 1 Pathfinder I Sojourner I Corsair | Zu'hra I Autumn | Scarlet Willow | Gypsy | Silverthorn | Crystal Whisper | Radiant Historia | And many other OCs~ Matching signatures with mah Bestie MOONLIGHT <

Vox 870 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 Well, I'm not into anime or comic books or anything like that, so I can't really say, I've been to a local version of comic con and can safely say that there were many attendees over 30. Fizz. 1,078 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 You're only too old for cons when youre dead. Yoy only feel old because anime conventions, and anime culture, is only at most a couple decades old. As the con-crowd gets older, you'll be seeing older people attending x3 2 http://alt="img-3411728-1-kQpW0ME.png">
