How often do you use profanities?

Ha, you bet your ass I curse. As for how often, I like to think that I keep to a reasonable level without making myself look like a complete butcher of the English language.

Sometimes, it's just easier to express my frustration or annoyance with something with a one-line "shit" or "fuck" under my breath. "God damnit" and "Christ" come out much more often, but those aren't terrible curses. When I'm describing my NMR spectra to my academic advisor and there's a shitload of shit around where my signals are supposed to be, I don't hesitate to say "...but there's a bunch of shit messing with my integrals," and neither does he.

When the point can be gotten across with curse words (mainly damn and shit), I don't see the problem, as they actually have a use in describing something. "Fuck," on the other hand, is much less useful outside of the above-mentioned expression of frustration, and as such, I keep its use to a minimum.

I rarely swear while speaking english. And I also know how to control myself if it could affect the situation negatively.

BUT.

I'm a goddamn argentinean, if the moment allows it, we are able to place swears in every single sentence that comes out of our lips.

All the fucking time, but only in certain company. Around my family, I hardly swear at all. Around my friends, sailor-mode activated.

More frequently than is necessary. Think it stems from my friend's under developed vocabularies though.

Big words confused them back in the day. It's become a terrible habit over the years though. Blah.

I swear a lot, but not as much as I did in the navy, but as we would say in the service, freedom of speech as means tolerance of other people's language, it does take discipline and maturity to use or ignore language, besides, the best swearing I ever heard was from Malcolm Tucker played by Peter Capaldi, before he was the twelfth doctor, he was on "In The Thick of It", the mastery of his speech and wits, is a spectacle to behold, proof that swearing has a power of its own, when used to an advantage.

I use them all the ******* time! ************* use them in every sentence I can! Except when I talk around some people. I may be a rebel, but I do know how to behave myself. Did you know using profanities is a form of stress relief? I dont know the exact chemical off the top of my head, but whenever you speak these crude words the chemical is released and relieves stress and sometimes pain!

Also, im gonna be a hipster here and say I use ever form of curse including british slang words.

Daily. Way too much. I know to keep it appropriate at work or at conventions, have to mind the kids when at cons. I just replace it with more family friendly variations (i.e. "shut the front door.")

I'm not offended by swearing. i have absolutely no right to be.
