I'll start us off.

 

"In The Air Tonight" by Axel Rudi Pell, a cover of a Phil Collins song.

 

And just for good measure, "Fire Woman" by Crush 40, originally preformed by The Cult.

I like this thread ... a lot!  Not sure I really have a favorite so I'll drop two that popped in my head right away.

Other cover songs I enjoy are

• "Du Hast"-Motionless in White
• Adam Lambert's covered Queen songs, American Idol Cover songs, and his "Barracuda" cover on Glee.
• Pretty much all of Punk Goes Pop Volume 4 was decent.

The punk rock cover of the Bed Intruder Song. Combines the vocal shenanigans of Jordan Pundik (New Found Glory), Ethan Luck (ex-Relient K), and Hayley Williams (Paramore) into one glorious song. I'm more familiar with Jordan and Hayley myself but yeah. Personally prefer this version. >w<

 

I also can't forget to mention Trivium's cover of Master of Puppets. God, this cover is great, but...probably not as good as Metallica.

I'm gonna show my age with my music choices again, but, this is my favourite cover of any song. I think this version is the best of the song, and that this band improved the song greatly by it.

I think it's better than the original, but that's just me. Maybe I just really like this guys covers and singing voice(Hint, I do like basically all of his stuff.)

Then we have another cover by Johnny Cash called "if you could read my mind" which was originally written and sung by Gorden Lightfoot.

Religion is weak, but fortunately, the most religious thing about this song is the name. Not much "praise jesus" stuff as much as it is about personal pain, and dear god, this version of it is absolutely chilling. The hairs on my arm stand on end just listening to it.

Michael Viners Incredible Bongo Band-Apache

 

The original was by a band called The Shadows in the 1960s, it was ok but I think M.V.I.B.Bs. cover from 1973 blew the original miles away into the bushes.

 

It’s also a famous Hip-Hop sampling classic, even though I don’t think the original album it came from “Bongo Rock” sold very well on release.
