I should mention that for the 100th episode, Slice of life, it said on EQD that well the mane six battle a monster, the rest of Ponyville is setting up for a wedding. I heard people talking it's probably Cranky and Matilda which would make sense. Okay if you shipped that couple, that's good for you.

 

Looks like whoever wrote that Zap2It summary didn't get the memo that the Mane Six would be battling a monster off screen. We know the Mane Six won't be in the episode (or at least won't have a major role), so it's pretty obvious their battle is just an excuse to have them out of town so we can focus on the episode's real stars: BG and minor ponies.

 

 

And yes, it is indeed Cranky and Matilda who get married. This was shown in the animatic clip for a split second:

I wish that this episode will finally focus on the fact that Mane5 and Spike treat him like crap. And Fluttershy finally lose patience with them and tell them to spend time with him.

Well then hearing that M.A Larson is the writer of the 100th episode actually gives me a good feeling not a bad one.

Seriously he has a great track record for episodes he's worked on such as:

The Return of Harmony 2-parter, Magic Duel (one of my favorites from season 3), The Cutie Map 2 part episode, The Cutie Mark Chronicles, Luna Eclipsed, Secret of My Excess (One of the best Spike episodes).  

Even disregarding the base breaker that is  Magical Mystery Cure (which is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series and was when I really started to get into the show) the man has a good streak of episodes behind his belt by this point.  

Plus being a part of the show since season one aka the very beginning of the show also helps a bit.  

So for me I don't see much reason to worry about the next episode.

I was thrilled when Derpy talked! So relieved they didn't cave in to people saying she is offensive because she definitely isn't. People were worried an episode with background characters would be like earlier generations but this looks promising because they give the characters personality. I wonder what kind of monster the Mane 6 are fighting and if we will hear their story later.

Yep, it looks legit. I hope it stays that way, because episode thirteen's title is absolutely brilliant! I am positive that Philip K. Dick would have approved!

I am really hoping Vinyl speaks, and talks to Octavia. Nothing "shippy" (But I would really like that) I just want to see their "Odd Couple" relationship made canon.

     Derpygate was a very dark time for me, as far as the fandom is concerned. I've always seen the good hearted, beautiful side of Derpy, and never considered her to be offensive in anyway. You can't be offensive for simply existing, and yet it was the complainers who imposed a label on Derpy, then shouted at all others for the label only they saw and espoused as true. She's just unique, means well, and clumsy. When the edit came down, the anger I felt was beyond any rage I'd felt in years I was literally shaking I was so angry. I couldn't even think. We'd fought so hard to make our case of preserving Derpy, only to see these terrible people seemingly win. It was heartbreaking. I hated seeing this character mutilated, and basically told that her eyes and voice were something to be ashamed of and hidden away.

 

     And so it's been since that day. Sure we'd gotten her back to a degree, but there was never a voice to give us insight into the soul of this character. Now we're getting that back. Our Derpy, or whatever name she'll go by after 100, is back in almost every way possible, and her voice is glorious. Her voice is proclamation that it's ok to be a character with crossed eyes, a silly voice, and clumsiness. The injustice done to Derpy has been corrected, and I feel like I finally have closure.

So far I have so much love for what has been released. As far as the great sci-fi classic getting a titular nod ... approval! I expect Luna having a what-if nightmare ... A dream that shows what would have happened if Tia turned and how she would have to handle it, finally giving that arc a sense of emotional closure.

 

If so, it would seem to be a theme of sorts for Season 5.

Not sure, but an ingenious way around it would be to have several different characters call her a different name (Muffins, Ditzy Doo, but not Derpy) and have her respond, "Who?" each time.
